I guess i need to update

Now that we have lived here almost 2 years, I guess I should up date some of what has been happening.  First we moved into this home at the end of September of 2014. It was a long experience moving a house again after 15 years of living in it.  But today it is all worth it and I am loving where we are, closer to family, my parents, and closer to an airport.  Here are some updates that we have done to the house but I notice that I have even more since these pictures were taken so I will need to take new pictures.
I painted the kitchen cabinets and Ryan made this lovely crown on the top of them, I love having my white kitchen back.

It took almost a week to put it all back together, but I love it.

I need to update this picture because Ryan got me a new table for my birthday.

Love the light in this house.

This is part of the bedroom and I have painted my side tables.

Ryan helped me with this credenza at the bottom of the bed it was quite the site before we finished it.

Ryan added the molding on the bottom and added the feet to it.
Here is one of our Christmas table.

and this is the guest bedroom

The DEVASTATION

So we moved everything out of the house and moved to our new home.  We came up on a Friday to do a final walk through before our home was sold.  We came to this devastation.  A hot water pipe had broken in the upstairs laundry room and the water had been running for 4 days.
There are not words or tears that can express how I felt when we walked into this.  I had a push broom and broomed water for 4 hours before the crew came to help with the cleanup.  Needless to say the house was a disaster and pretty much a total loss. I cried until I couldn't cry any longer and then tried to see the blessings in this trial.

There was water everywhere and water on every surface.

It filled up the heat ducts and poured into the basement.

These are pictures of the downstairs bathroom.

Water, water, water...

I couldn't look any more, my beautiful house, gone.

This is the garage and even water came down the walls and ruined it as well.

It's amazing the devastation that water can do.

Someone could have come in and totally trashed the place and it couldn't have been worse.

After the cleanup, they went right down to the studs.

damage even where the water didn't go, just from the condensation.

The blessing was the new owner got to have a new home when all was said and done.

Christmas in Florida

We made a surprise visit to Florida, well it was a surprise for the Bassett kids.  Jon was deployed to Kuwait so we decided we needed to be in Florida.  It was a great decision because it was super fun.
This was the surpass that the Bassetts first saw when they came in the door.  The rest of us were hiding and little Tavian was asleep in his carrier on the floor.  They couldn't figure out how he got there until we jumped out and surprised them.  They were so excited and so were we!

We had good little baby sitters the whole time we were there

Grandpa was very entertaining.

The food  delicious and we gained some pounds over the holiday.
