Fun in Nebraska

It was very fun to be here on Livy's 4th birthday, she was so excited she could hardly stand it! She had to keep whispering to me that it was her birthday!

Of course she got everything that she wanted!

A barbie to style hair for.

Sofia was excited as well. It's fun for every one when someone has a birthday.

I made this sweater and skirt for Livy and I am glad that she liked it!

She even got a Polly Pocket that was so fun to get wet.

Sofia loves "cheesin" it for the camera.

the favorite afternoon activity is to go out in the front yard and play in the street. I know, I tried to keep them safe but the driveway slopes and they all end up in the street.

Luckily it isn't a busy street. Jaedon has learned to ride his 2 wheel bike.

He is getting to be quite the pro, now if he could learn to stop and turn maybe he wouldn't have so many scrapes on his elbows and knees.

Sofia loves to do whatever and plays on the scooter, bike, but I think her favorite is just pushing the big stroller around.

Livy had her special birthday cake complete with Rapunzel, Flynn, and even Pascal.

Saturday morning we went and had family pictures, this is the black and white version, you will have to see all of the cute photo's from Mel.  These were just some of the in between shots and I did them all in black and white and accented the yellow.

Baby Jack was pretty much this pose the whole time.

Livy loves her new baby brother.

Sofia was most entertained by the
"Daddy Long legs" on the wall of the barn.

This was the most excited that she got.

You're so cute Livy!

Yep. baby Jack's favorite pose.

Oh, the dog did get Sofia excited too.

Here Jaedon smell this!

Jaedon's Cheese!

In the afternoon we celebrated Livy's "Tangled" party!

Livy still has her crown on, she loved her party!
I love this little girl, sure going to miss everyone!

Birthdays and Baby Jack!

Happy Birthday to Kace, Rachel, Olivia, and Evan. There is a lot of September birthdays and we celebrated 2 of them before I left for Nebraska. ( The numbers in the candles are somehow supposed to add up to their ages!)

Blowing out the candles.

Waiting for the cake and ice cream!

Rachel, trying to guess what is in her Victoria Secret bag? Nate with a smile on his face because of the Victoria Secret bag!

It was just this hat! I wish she was still smiling like this after last night!

Meet new baby Jack! I am now here in Nebraska!

He is just a cute combination of all of the Bassett's!

Livy's eyes, Jaedon's nose, and Sofia's lips!

I really did rotate these pictures,so sorry he looks like he is standing on his head!

Livy and her new baby brother.

It is a moving target trying to take pictures of newborns when they are awake.

Sofia, doesn't she just fit her name.

Trying on Baby Jack's hat!

Doing her model pose.
I'm having fun just snuggling all of these cute kids. I have tried to teach Sofia that I am not Grandpa but she continues to call me "Grandpa" but I know I am her Grandma, and as long as I am Grandpa to her, that's okay. So, when she comes to see Grandpa, I wonder what she will call him?
I love Grandpa too!!

I'm glad I am still here.

Some days I take so much for granted. Walking into my home this afternoon, kissing my husband, talking with my children, and just breathing the crisp fall air.
This morning on my way to work, I had a rude awakening, (not that I was asleep) but an awakening of how grateful I am for my life.  In a split second that life could be taken away and the air bag exploding into my chest is still echoing in my ears. I was almost to Pepperidge Farm, when for just one hundredth of a second I saw a flash in the right side of my car, saw an image of a leaping deer and WHAM an explosion in my chest, and a jolt to my body. I was on cruise at 65 miles per hour and don't ask me how my car miraculously stopped on the side of the road without hitting another vehicle, having some vehicle hit me from behind, or with out hitting some other stationary object. But it did. As I sat there in shock,( I am guessing) trying to decide what to do next I called 911 after finding my phone, plugging it in, (because it was not charged because I had left it in the car from the night before.) and telling the dispatcher what had happened. I then called Mac because I knew Ryan would still be playing basketball and would never hear my phone call. I awoke Mac from his sleep I am sure, but I knew he would tell me what I needed to do and would come and pick me up. My car was not drivable and  my mind kept telling me I needed to get to work. I had a pain in my chest and a pain in my hip, (from the airbag and the seat belt.) but that was about it. No burns to my face, no bloody nose, just a few tears running down my cheeks. As I waited for the police officer to show up I noticed that he was coming and then I noticed that he didn't come to me but to a car that was parked a ways in front of me. As I watched him get out and go to the vehicle I had the thought, " I wonder if I am watching myself and he really is approaching me in that car," so I started pinching myself, and yes, I was still sitting in my own car.  I thought about calling the dispatcher again and telling them they went to the wrong car, but then Jessica and Mac showed up and I knew I was in the living, I could feel their hugs, talk to them and feel their love for me. Jessica went to the other vehicle and came back and said that this person had also hit a deer and that in the last hour they had 3 deer fatalities in the same stretch of road.  I was mad at the stupid deer for leaping in front of me, out of the dark, and mad that I hat wrecked my brand new car. Yes, It was my new Tuscon. that I had just drove off the lot in May. But, after contemplating the events of the day I found myself grateful that I am still here. What is a car? Nothing really, but material stuff! So, I am now thanking Him above for the blessings of this day. That I can breathe the air, feel the kisses and hugs, and talk to my children and grandchildren. I was protected. I know that now,
and I am grateful.

I didn't have any pictures to post this week but decided I would look back at some photo's of the summer of 2009. the summer has gone by fast and after looking at these pictures wow! how quick the grand kids are growing up.  This little girl above now has a little baby brother that is about the same age as this picture.
This is Sofia.

This little boy also has a little brother
This is Lincoln

These 2 boys have their permanent teeth in front now.
This is Carson and Layne.

This little girl has grown and is going to preschool.

This is Tydon and he is still as cute as ever.

The Cannon boys now have a little sister to share all of their grasshoppers with.
I think this was the year of the grasshoppers.  There favorite thing to do was catch them and feed them to the chickens.

They still love doing this.

Olivia and her baby sister Sofia.

These 3 are still best of friends.

Still love doing this.

Just fun to look at some old pictures and see where we have been and where we are going.
I am going to miss summer but am really enjoying the cool nights of fall.
Happy Labor day!
