It was a pleasure participating in a panel with CEOs of leading FBOs at the IIB Annual Conference.
Day One of the IIB's Annual Washington Conference brought together policymakers, regulators, and industry leaders for a full day of thoughtful discussions on the evolving financial services landscape. The day began with a dynamic CEO Panel featuring Mandy DeFilippo (Standard Chartered), Lisa McGeough (Deutsche Bank), and Hirofumi Otsuka (SMBC Group), moderated by IIB Chair Richard Haworth (Barclays). The discussion explored the global banking environment, and the important role international banks play in supporting economic growth and financial stability. The conversation set the stage for a full day of thoughtful discussions on the issues shaping the financial services industry. Throughout the day, conference sessions explored prudential regulation and supervision, market oversight by the SEC and CFTC, the global economic outlook, financial crime and national security priorities, and the evolving policy landscape for digital assets. We were also pleased to welcome Kaitlin Asrow, Acting Superintendent of the New York Department of Financial Services, who joined the conference for a fireside conversation on the evolving regulatory landscape. As part of this year's conference, we were also proud to celebrate the IIB's 60th anniversary and six decades of supporting global banks and their contributions to the U.S. economy.
