Anything is Possible featuring Mint Owl Studio

Hey guys!  Today I have a card for you using Mint Owl Studio’s Piggy Party and Some Bunny stamp sets.  Pigs can fly, and anything is possible!  😉  I hope my card will encourage someone, and bring a smile to their face.

To create my card:

  1. I stamped out a sweet piggy from Piggy Party and 5 balloons from Some Bunny onto bristol smooth white cardstock with Memento tuxedo black ink.  Then, using copic markers, I colored in my images.
  2. I fussy cut my images, being especially careful around the bottom of the heart balloons.  I finished off the edges of the cut images with a black marker.
  3. I tied a piece of embroidery thread to the bottom of each heart balloon, and set them aside along with my pig.
  4. On to my sentiment: You can’t tell from the photo, but the sentiment is foiled with rose gold foil.  I created my sentiment on my computer, and printed it out on white cardstock with a laser printer.  Then, I ran it through my laminator with the foil on top.  I love how this turned out!
  5. First, I cut out the sentiment cardstock with Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die, and then I used Mama Elephant’s cloud die from the landscape trio.
  6. I used the same rectangle and cloud dies to cut out 2 more cloud pieces out of vellum.
  7. To create my sky background, I die cut a piece of white cardstock with the same stitched rectangle die, and ink blended some Tim Holtz distress ink in tumbled glass.
  8. I adhered the vellum clouds first, and then the sentiment cloud with some foam tape.
  9. I carefully adhered the heart balloons how I wanted them, using foam tape for all of them except the very top balloon.
  10. I gathered the strings and wound it around my piggy, and adhered him with some foam tape.
  11. To finish off my card, I added sequins from Mint Owl Studio’s peach passion mix with Ranger’s multi medium matte, and added some sparkle to my balloons with some clear Wink of Stella.

Cheers shaker card featuring Mint Owl Studio

Hey guys!  Today I have a St. Patty’s themed shaker card for you using Mint Owl Studio’s new scripty sentiments stamp set!  You can find my card on the Mint Owl Studio blog as well!

In the spirit of St Patrick’s day, I chose green and gold colors, cocktail glasses, and the cheers sentiment.

Here’s how I created my card:

  1. I gold heat embossed the sentiment and the cocktail glasses from the Mint Owl Studio scripty sentiments stamp set on a piece of white cardstock using Versamark ink and Ranger princess gold embossing powder.
  2. Then, I ink blended the panel using Tim Holtz distress ink in lucky clover.  I sprinkled the panel with a little bit of water.  Using a paper towel, I gently picked up some of the ink, creating a bleached effect.
  3. I  die cut a frame out of green glitter paper by DCWV using Simon Says Stamp stitched rectangle dies.
  4. I added acetate to the glitter frame, and 2 layers of foam tape.
  5. I put the shaker card together using Mint Owl Studio 6mm gold sequins and the Mint Owl sequin mix.  I also added in some of Martha Stewart’s green star glitter.
  6. I glued the entire shaker panel to a top folding card base.
  7. To create a simple matching envelope, I stamped 2 cocktail glasses using Hero Arts Ombre ink in mint to green.

Hello Brave Girl layout using a combination of MME collections

Hey guys!  I hope you had a fabulous Valentine’s Day!

Today, I am on the My Mind’s Eye blog  with this layout, featuring a combination of My Mind’s Eye’s new collections: Happy Camper, On Trend 2, Hello Gorgeous, and By the Sea. These collections coordinate so well with each other!

Hello Brave Girl is a letter to my daughter, saying how proud I am that she climbed up to the top of Enchanted Rock with her Dad last year during Spring Break.  (I am afraid of heights so I only made it 3/4 of the way.)  I love this type of journaling in scrapbook layouts, but don’t use it nearly enough!ahsang MME brave 1 blog

Easter Blessings featuring Mint Owl Studio

Hello crafty friends!

Today I’m on the Mint Owl Studio blog and I have a soft CAS (clean and simple) Easter card featuring the Mint Owl Studio’s Easter Blessings stamp set.  When I saw this stamp set, I knew that I wanted to do some soft watercoloring highlighting this stamp in gold.

First, I used WPlus9’s sunshine layers die to die cut a scalloped rectangle out of watercolor paper.  Then, I treated the entire area with my powder tool, and stamped the large cross with lilies image from Mint Owl Studio’s Easter blessings stamp set using Versamark ink.  I sprinkled my Ranger gold embossing powder over the stamp area, and knocked off the excess.  Then, I carefully stamped the Easter Blessings sentiment inside the cross with Versamark ink, and sprinkled with more Ranger gold embossing powder.  After making sure I knocked off all the excess powder, I heat set the cross and sentiment with my heat tool.  Next, I masked off the scalloped edges with some blue painters tape, and then using Tim Holtz distress inks, I watercolored over the top.  The colors I used are spun sugar, shaded lilac, and tumbled glass.  Since I am impatient, I heat set the water color.  I popped the entire panel on some fun foam, and adhered it to my A2 sized card panel that I made from Bazzill cardstock in icy mint.  To finish off my card I added some clear sequins from Mint Owl Studio’s Peach Passion mix.

3 Birthday Owl cards featuring DeNami Design

For my stop along this blog hop, I created a spinner card.  This was my first spinner card, and I love how it turned out!  (By the way, I have been trying a lot of techniques I haven’t tried before, because it’s my crafty New Year’s Resolution!)  I will share a video of my card in action on my Instagram.

For this card, I used Mint Owl Studio’s Piggy Party stamp set, and Peach Passion sequin mix.

Here is a step by step on how I created this card:

  1. I created a top folding A2 sized card base using bristol 100 lb paper.
  2. I die cut a scalloped rectangle panel from another piece of bristol, using a die from WPlus9’s sunshine layers dies.
  3. I stamped the “just pigcause I care” sentiment using versamark ink, then heat set using WOW white embossing powder.
  4. Then using an ink blending tool, I inked up the scalloped panel with Hero Arts Soft Cantaloupe ink, concentrating the color on the bottom creating an ombre effect.  I watered down some Hero Arts Unicorn pigment ink on my craft mat, and using a small paint brush, splattered some of the white ink on my inked up panel.
  5. I temporarily adhered the scalloped rectangle panel onto my card base.  I opened my card base and die cut the scalloped circle (My Favorite Thing’s jumbo peek-a-boo circles) through both the scalloped panel and the top half/panel of my card base.
  6. On another piece of bristol, I stamped the pig 2 times and colored them using copic markers. I fussy cut the images and lined the edges with a black marker. I also colored along the edges on the back of the images using my black marker, in case the pigs didn’t line up perfectly.
  7. I went to the garage and fished out a piece of fishing line (hehe).  I glued my 2 piggies back to back, sandwiching the fishing line in between them.
  8. I wanted the scalloped card panel to be raised, so I adhered foam tape all along the back.  I carefully aligned the piggies in the scalloped circle window, and stuck the fishing line to the foam tape.  (I trimmed off the excess.)
  9. Here comes the tricky part.  I had to carefully align the scallops of the circle on the scalloped inked panel to the scallops of the circle on the card base.
  10. For the inside of my card, I added a piece of pattern paper that I die cut using Simon Says Stamp stitched rectangle die.
  11. To finish off my card, I added a few clear sequins from Mint Owl Studio’s peach passion sequin mix.
