2 polkadot cards using Spellbinders May 2021 Glimmer of the Month

Hey there friends!

Today I’m sharing 2 foiled cards that I made using the May 2021 Glimmer Hot Foil of the Month (GOM), called Spot On Background & Sentiments. This month’s kit comes with 10 foiling plates, 3 cutting dies, and Polished Brass foil. I love the little polkadot backgrounds you can make with this die.

I also used the May 2021 Clear Stamp of the Month (CSOM) called Borders & Sentiments.

For my first card, I made a full panel of the polkadot background.

I used my Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil Machine, the polished brass foil, the polkadot plate, and the hinge method to foil the polkadot background twice onto green cardstock. Next, using my Platinum 6 die cutting machine I cut the inner polkadot pieces from colored cardstock. I glued the cardstock circles randomly on the polkadot background.

I also foiled the “you are,” “one in a,” and “million” sentiments using the same polished brass foil onto black cardstock. I diecut the sentiments using the coordinating die; i also cut out 3 sentiment strips from plain white cardstock. I cut the ends on a diagonal on both the black and white strips, then glued them together slightly staggered to create a shadow effect. If it looks familiar, I was going for the instagram stories font.

I trimmed the polkadot background panel and glued it to an A2 sized white cardbase. Then I glued the sentiment strips on to finish off my card. I really love the graphic look of this card!

For my second card, I decided to use the leftover cardstock circles to create another card.

I foiled the polkadot background twice on white cardstock, and then glued the cardstock circles on.

On a piece of pink cardstock, I stamped the “happy birthday” sentiment from the CSOM set with Versamark ink, and heat set it with gold embossing powder.

I trimmed the pink cardstock, and glued it to an A2 sized top folding card base. Then, I trimmed the polkadot panel to about the same width as the sentiment, and I adhered it on top of the pick cardstock with foam tape. Note: I adhered the panels top justified to the top folding card. I added a little pink floss bow on top to add a little bit of detail to the top.

I really love the polkadot background in this month’s glimmer kit. I am so happy with how my cards turned out, and I hope you like them too. Make sure you head over to the Spellbinders site to check out this month’s Glimmer of the Month kit, along with lots of other paper crafting goodies.

2 cards using Spellbinders May 2021 Large Die of the Month and Clear Stamp of the Month

Hello crafty friends!

Today I’m sharing two cards that I made using Spellbinders’ May 2021 Large Die of the Month kit (LDOM) called Stitched Card Front, Border, and Flower set. This kit comes with dies with pierced holes for stitching, but you could use these dies without stitching as well.

I am also using the May 2021 Clear Stamp of the Month (CSOM) called Borders and Sentiments.

These cards were definitely time consuming, but I stitched on the diecuts while watching true crime shows after the kids were in bed. (What shows have y’all been loving?)

For my first card, I used my Platinum 6 die cutting machine, the large pierced background die, and the A2 card die to cut out the panel from pink cardstock. I used some embroidery floss to stitch the florals.

On another piece of white cardstock, I used distress oxide inks in spun sugar and shaded lilac, and ink blended a soft background panel. Once fully dry, I used the big sentiment from the CSOM stamp set; I stamped with Versamark ink, and heat set it with white embossing powder.

I glued the sentiment background to a white A2 cardbase, then I added glue to the stitched panel and set it on top. Because of the stitched nature, it is lifted up from the background, and gives great dimension.

To fiinish off this card, I added some of the new Spellbinders Crystal Mix Color Gems. I love the size of these gems, and I love the white, almost holographic colored ones!

I love how this card turned out!

For the second card, I diecut 3 pierced flowers from pink cardstock, and 2 leaves from green cardstock. Again, I used floss to stitch them while watching tv.

On another piece of white cardstock, I added some ink blending in ombre pink in a diagonal. I used Distress Oxide inks in spun sugar, kitsch flamingo, and picked raspberry. Next, I stamped the birthday sentiment from the CSOM set with black ink. I glued on the flowers (Making sure to add glue to just the center of the flowers) and the leaves.

To finish off the card, I adhered the panel onto a white A2 card base with foam tape. I also added some of the crystals I used in the first card.

I really love how these cards turned out. The stitching adds so much impact and texture. I hope you like my cards as much as I do! Head over to the Spellbinders site to check out this month’s club kits, and lots of other paper crafting supplies!
