2 floral cards, featuring Spellbinders Fluted Classics

Hello friends! It’s Jung here, and today I’m sharing 2 cards that I made using Spellbinders’ new Fluted Classics collection. These fluted dies are so versatile: you can create pattern on a background, you can diecut frames, you can diecut a shape from the center of the card base and add the etched pattern around it, and more.

For my projects, I decided to do tone-on-tone cards, and I love how they turned out. I used my my Platinum 6 die cutting machine, the fluted rectangle dies, the fluted oval dies, the Simply Perfect Layered Blooms die set, and began die cutting my pieces.

For the first card, I used the fluted rectangle dies to create a tone-on-tone blue card.

I used the larger and smaller etched dies to create 2 rectangles on the background panel. I used the largest rectangle die to cut out the A2 sized shape. I used the middle etched die along with 2 of the rectangle dies to create a frame. I diecut the frame 3 times, and glued them together to create a dimensional frame. I glued the frame onto the background panel. Next, I stamped the “Sending Birthday Wishes,” which was from the Clear Stamp of the Month in October, but you can still purchase the Sending You stamp set, with 2 different shades of blue ink.

I added the diecut Simply Perfect Layered blooms on the card to the bottom right and top left. I adhered this to an A2 sized card base. To finish off this card, I added some Spellbinders Crystal Mix gems and blue gems from my stash.

For my next card, I used the fluted oval dies to create a tone-on-tone white card.

I used one of the etched ovals and an oval die to diecut an oval from the middle of a panel sized slightly smaller than A2. I love how the etching provides interest to the oval. I adhered that panel to an A2 sized card base with foam tape for dimension. I diecut the “happily ever after” sentiment from Brushed Gold cardstock twice, and glued them together. I glued the sentiment to the card base inside the oval opening.

I adhered the diecut Simply Perfect Layered blooms on the card to the bottom right and top left. To finish off my card, I added more Crystal Mix gems and liquid pearls.

I am super happy with how these cards turned out, and I hope you got some inspiration. These fluted dies will definitely be added as a staple in my collection.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a happy day!

A pair of Christmas cards, featuring Spellbinders November 2021 Glimmer of the Month

Hi friends!

Today I’m sharing a pair of Christmas cards that I made using the November 2021 Glimmer Hot Foil of the Month (GOM), called Curved Christmas Glimmer Borders. The kit comes with 5 hot foil plates, 2 cutting dies, and a roll of Polished Brass foil.

I made both cards very similarly. First, I hot foiled the borders and sentiments using my Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil Machine on green cardstock. Then, I used the cutting dies to cut beneath the border to create a curved edge.

On the first card, I used the “A Gift For You” sentiment, along with 2 of the borders. I used the scalloped die to coordinate with the looping border.

On the second card, I used the “Merry Christmas” sentiment with the floral border. Since I used the straight die, I wanted to create a little bit more interest. I got a piece of red glitter cardstock, and used the scalloped die to create a sparkly border.

I decided on a pink background panel for both cards. I used the Plaid Company embossing folder from Spellbinders and light pink cardstock. I adhered the green hot foiled panel on top of the pink background with foam tape. Then I adhered them to top folding white A2 sized card bases.

To add more interest and detail, I diecut some poinsettias and leaves from the November 2021 Large Die of the Month kit. I adhered them both to the green glimmered panel, and to the background pink panel.

I only added glue to the centers of the flowers, and the ends of the leaves, so I could fluff them for dimension. On a few of the flowers, I doubled the layer of flowers. I added goldpink, and red gems to the center of all the flowers. To finish off the card, and to fill in a bit of the empty spaces, I added a little bit of gold splatter.

The cards are very similar, with a slight variation. I love how there are so many textures, layers, and techniques on these cards!

I hope you like my cards, and are inspired to get crafty. Make sure to head over to the Spellbinders site to check out this month’s Glimmer of the Month and Large Die of the Month kit, along with lots of other paper crafting goodies.

A Christmas card & tag, featuring Spellbinders Christmas Traditions

Hello friends!

Today I’m sharing a holiday card and a coordinating tag, featuring the Christmas Traditions collection from Spellbinders.

I am using 2 products from the Christmas Traditions collection: Diamonds Glimmer Hot Plate & Die set and Christmas Time Sentiments Clear Stamp set.

For my card, I started by foiling the diamonds glimmer plate on light blue cardstock. I used my Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil MachinePolished Brass foil, and the hinge method to foil the diamond plate 2 times on the cardstock. I trimmed the panel to slightly smaller than A2 sized. Next, I diecut the inner diamonds from various shades of green, teal, and blue cardstock using the die. (I love that they added several diamonds on the die, so you don’t have to die cut diamonds 20+ times, haha!). I glued the diamonds in the center of the hot foiled diamonds in a random pattern. I trimmed off the excess diamonds, and adhered the panel to a side folding white A2 sized card base with foam tape.

For the sentiment, I stamped one of the gorgeous sentiments onto a piece of red cardstock using Versamark ink, then heat set with gold embossing powder. I used one of the dies from the Nestabilities A2 Matting Basics dies to die cut the sentiment. I adhered the sentiment panel to the upper third of the diamond background using foam tape. To finish off the card, I added some gold gems.

I wanted to make a coordinating tag, and I made the same way I made the card.

I heat foiled the diamond plate on teal cardstock. Next, I trimmed it into a tag shape, and punched a hole. I glued on some of my left over diecut diamonds. Then, I trimmed off the excess. I stamped, and gold heat embossed the sentiment, diecut it using the same matting basics die, adhered it to the diamond tag with foam tape, and then cut off the excess. To finish off my tag, I added a sheer ribbon.

I really hope you like my card and matching gift tag. I love the clean and simple look, with the pop of holiday red. I had so much fun making it, and was actually inspired by one of my previous cards for Spellbinders, which you can see here. 2 holiday cards, featuring Spellbinders November 2021 Large Die of the Month

Hello crafty friends!

Today I’m sharing 2 cards that I made using Spellbinders’ November 2021 Large Die of the Month kit (LDOM) called Christmas Foliage Strip and Borders. This kit comes with 13 cutting dies.

For my projects, I made a slimline card and a standard A2 sized card.

For my first card, I made a slimline card.

First, I trimmed a piece of craft cardstock, and used the woven border die to diecut a pattern using my Platinum 6 die cutting machine. I used one of the curved sentiments from the November 2021 Glimmer of the Month, Polished Brass foil, and my Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil Machine to foil the Merry Christmas sentiment. Next, I diecut the floral border, the glued it to the woven border piece.

I diecut the flowers and foliage from Spellbinders assorted color essentials cardstock, as well as red glitter cardstock. I glued on the colored cardstock pieces to the coordinating spots on the floral border. I made sure to add glue just to the center of the flowers and the end of the leaves, so I could fluff them for dimension.

I popped the entire panel onto a white slimline card base with foam tape. To finish off my card, I added some gold gems to the center of the flowers.

For my next project, I made an A2 sized card using just the floral and foliage dies.

I really love the floral dies from this kit, and I had a few of the diecut poinsettia flowers and leaves left from my first card, so I decided to make a card filled with the diecuts. I diecut more of the flowers and leaves, adding a few more colors.

I really have loved making floral cards on a dark blue background (like here and here), so I decided to use another dark blue background. I used one of the dies from the Nestabilities A2 Matting Basics dies to diecut the panel. I used the polished brass foil and the Christmas Blessings from the Shimmering Merry Christmas sentiments set to foil the sentiment on the lower third of the panel. Next, I glued on the flowers and leaves, again only adding a little bit of glue so I can fluff them.

I adhered the panel to a side folding craft A2 card base with foam tape. To finish off my card, I added goldpink, and red gems to the center of the flowers. I also added some gold splatter around the flowers.

I really love how my cards turned out. These cards can be clean and simple (more like my slimline) or they can be a little more extra. I hope you are inspired by my cards. If you like these poinsettias, stay tuned for my Glimmer of the Month post!
