foiled floral card, featuring Spellbinders December 2021 Glimmer of the Month

Hello crafty friends!

Today I’m sharing a dainty foiled floral card that I made using the December 2021 Glimmer Hot Foil of the Month (GOM), called Botanical Crest. The kit comes with 3 hot foil plates, 5 cutting dies, and a roll of blush foil.

To make my card, I started with the foiling. I used my Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil Machine to foil the “Wishing You a Year of Magical Moments sentiment” on a piece of pink cardstock. On another piece of pink cardstock, I foiled the floral image. Next, I used the die that cuts out the inner part of the floral image using my Platinum 6 die cutting machine. I also trimmed the cardstock, making sure the floral image was toward the upper center, using a rectangle from the Nestabilities A2 Matting Basics dies. I adhered foam tape to the back of the floral panel, then adhered it on top of the sentiment panel, trying to keep the sentiment centered under the floral.

I diecut some of the tiny flowers from different tones of pink cardstock. I adhered the flowers to both the top floral panel and bottom sentiment panel for more depth and interest. To finish off my card, I added a few drops of liquid pearls to the centers of the flowers, as well as a few scattered around the panel.

I love how sweet and delicate this card turned out, and what a fantastic sentiment! I hope you were inspired by my card today, and don’t forget to head over to the Spellbinders site to check out this month’s Glimmer of the Month kit, along with lots of other paper crafting goodies.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a lovely day!

2 stitched cards, featuring Spellbinders’ December 2021 Large Die of the Month

Hello crafty friends!

Today I’m sharing 2 cards that I made using Spellbinders’ December 2021 Large Die of the Month kit (LDOM) called Layered Stitched Background. This kit comes with 6 cutting dies.

For my 2 cards, I used the larger cutting dies. First, I diecut the pierced cutting die, along with the outer rectangle die from white and green cardstock using my Platinum 6 die cutting machine.

For the green card, I followed the embossed lines, and stitched with gold metallic thread.

For the white card, I stitched with green metallic thread.

Once I was done stitching, I diecut the other Layering pieces. For the green card, I diecut one from the same green cardstock, and the other from Brushed Gold cardstock. For the white card, I diecut both from white cardstock. I glued the layering pieces together, and set them aside.

I seem to really like monochromatic cards lately, so I somewhat stuck to the same colors on my cards. Using my Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil Machine, I foiled “Merry Christmas” with Polished Brass foil onto green cardstock, and “Christmas Blessings” with Viridian Green foil onto white cardstock. Here is a link to glimmer mini Christmas sentiments. Then I used one of the Nestabilities A2 Matting Basics dies to diecut the cardstock panels, keeping the sentiment at the very bottom. I adhered the sentiment background panels to white A2 sized card bases with thin foam tape. Then I glued on the stitched layered panels on top.

For a little more interest, I added a layered poinsettia flower and leaves that I had left over from last month’s Large Die of the Month. For the red flower, I added a gold gem, and for the pink flower, I added a red gem.

I really enjoy the stitched dies that spellbinders come out with, and I loved putting this card together. (You can see last year’s cards here.). I hope you were inspired to get stitching on your cards. Thanks for stopping by, and Happy December!
