“CHAMPAGNE!sparkling couture” For MVW
I can not thank Enzo Champagne enough for the stunning costume he designed for me for my MVW Cuba outfit. In his creation I was one of the showgirls at the Tropicana in the Cuba of old. He took my vision and made it reality like only he can. Thank you Enzo. I wore it to honor your artistry
Cuba Costume Story
Stepping out of the Cuban past into the smoke filled stage of the Tropicana Club, Kaciee glitters and shines in her pulsing red costume made by the famous Enzo Champagne. The showgirls at the Tropicana, known collectively as “Las Diosas de Carne” (or “Flesh Goddesses”), were renowned the world over for their voluptuousness, and the cabaret showcased a kind of sequin-and-feather musical theater that would be copied in Paris, New York, and Las Vegas. The lavish shows Headliners included Xavier Cugat, Paul Robeson, Yma Sumac, Carmen Miranda, Nat King Cole, and Josephine Baker. Once Liberace took the stage with mambo star Ana Gloria Varona. Heralded as a “Paradise Under the Stars”, the Tropicana became known for its showgirls. Pretend for just a minute that we were back there and watch as she struts the runway, looking for all the world as if time has stood still and it was still 1950.

MVW FINAL OUTFIT

Story
Kaciee shopped many stores, down dusty streets to find the pieces of her final outfit. But now she is ready to shine.
Kaciee steps onto the stage wearing an avant garde outfit reflecting Cuban fashion. Cubans have a magnificent and fashionable lifestyle and their artistic attitude is also reflected through their creative designs in their traditional outfits. For many decades, the trend was to wear ruffled skirts, overemphasized sleeves and bright colored blouses. Many Cuban designers feel the romance and mystery and color of their country and you can see all of these in the outfit Kaciee has chosen to wear today. Because Cuba is an island with approximately 11.2 million people, designers can think big. Their designs can be more abstract and visual with a sense of color and climate with a mood that feeds the fantasy of the “forbidden island”. That has been an endless inspiration for designers with actual ties to Cuba. Like Adolfo, Narciso Rodrigues, Isabel Toledo and Alejandro Ingelmo. Get lost in the colors and shapes of the new Cuba that Kaciee presents for you today.
