As I walk down the runway, shimmering in a golden light, I remember Queen Margaret 1. She was the inspiration for my gown from CW. Her golden gown is still on display in her country of Denmark. I am proud to pay her homage in my styling. Her bright dream for her countries was, for me, reflected in her most photographed gold dress. She was known for uniting the three kingdoms of Sweden, Norway and Denmark and she was the first medieval Queen to rule in Europe. Secreted away in the overlay of beading on the bodice is my greatest treasure, the tiny Faberge Egg. Tiny flowers tucked into my hair cascade down into a veil coud framing my face. Golden cuffs encircle my wrists and jeweled earrings complete the look.

Ghee Girl About Town – Chic Day Wear

Kaciee was late to lunch with the girls. But looking down on her outfit, she knew it was worth it. She had wanted to wear something colorful today and she knew her clothes from Ghee would be perfect for this special day. Today she had slipped into the Coral Bloom dress from Ghee and then had the idea to make it pop even more by slipping the overdress from the Summer silk & lace drop over the top. She had never worn it this way but the two seemed to be made for each other. Her shoes were subtle elegence in orange Strappy Heels from her favorite Ghee store. Hugging her wrists were Ghee Orange tile and stone cuffs. She took a final look in the mirror, smiled happily,  and stepped out the door. She picked a flower from her garden and rushed out to the waiting car.

Ghee Girl at the Gala Ball

As Kaciee stepped onto the red carpet she heard the cameras from the Paparazzi pop. She touched  the smooth cool tafeta from her Mermaid skirt from Ghee as she glidded down the runway. The red and black figure hugging Spiked Corset from Ghee made her tiny figure look even more glamerous. The spiked beeding made it clear that you could look but not touch. The light bounced off the golden cuffs and Collar from Kibitz. She placed the feather in her hair remembering her fathers words that the feather was a symbol of an achievement that you can be proud of. And she felt proud and regal today going into the Met Gala Ball!

Take a chance on me by Abba is how I felt for this last contest. “Red is the new Black.”

We were all given an outfit from Ghee and were to style it as we saw fit. I totally loved my outfit. It was a red tweed figure hugging beauty called, Rouge Westwood. I also received the shoes and the collar. Usually you don’t wear an outfit before a show but I was so in love with mine that I’m afraid I wore it all over for days. Actually I still have it on!

But, here is where the Abba Song, Take a chance on me, comes in. I tried, like we all do, hundreds of poses for the contest. There are so many rules about what poses you can use and what you can not. Most of the ones I really like are in the can not list. This suit wanted strong poses and so I gave in and used the ones I loved. I took a chance. Would the judges see why I was using these poses? Or would they think I had taken the totally wrong turn? I will probably never know what they thought but, I made it into the Top Ten!

The last chance I took was this. Part of any challenge was how you style your outfit. You might think, looking at my style card, that I did not take the time to use more pieces to my outfit. I did try. But the Suit, the collar and the shoes, all from Ghee, stood on their own. I felt that adding a bracelet or something in my hair would not have added to the outfit. So I took a chance!
