Tulle Time and a Farewell!

Hello everyone.  I hope you're having a special holiday week!  Do you have any big New Year's plans?  I think many people have a three day weekend.  Yay, I love it when that happens!

2011 is almost here and it's a reminder to me of how quickly time passes.  I've had the privilege and thrill of being on the Glitz Design Team and it's time for me to say goodbye.  I had such a wonderful experience and I can't believe how quickly it went by!  First of all, I want to express my gratitude to DT leader Lea Lawson.  She believed in me when she asked me to join the team and I couldn't have been more thrilled.  It was truly a crafting career highlight for me!  Thank you Lea!   Also, thank you to Erin, Ginger and Laura (the geniuses behind Glitz Design) for giving me the opportunity. Finally, to all of the other talented Design Team members, thank you for the inspiration you share week after week. I'll miss all of you!

Now, on to my final "official" Design Team cards.  *sniff*  *sniff*  I immediately fell in love with the new and lovely Glitz Design Tulle collection!  The colors compliment the new product lines perfectly. The tulle is easy to work with and I love the texture it adds!  In fact, I love it so much that I used it not on one...but two cards!  :)

Glittery Glitz Christmas

Tis' the season to be jolly!  Oh, how I love this time of the year!  I can't believe Christmas is less than two weeks away.  I adore everything about the holiday and certainly crafting is one of those things.  Personally, I love lots of sparkly this time of the year so I was happy to add some glittery goodness to these cards.  I also used some gorgeous vintage inspired Glitz Design products.  Although Glitz Design doesn't offer a holiday product line, it's still easy to make holiday themed items with their goodies!

Let the shopping begin!

I hope you and yours had a memorable Thanksgiving filled with love and happiness!  It's wonderful to have a special day set aside to reflect on all our blessings.  I'm working hard to not take my blessings for granted but to recognize them every day!

Here in the USA, today is called Black Friday.  It marks the official beginning of the holiday shopping season.  I bet many of you will brave the shopping malls and stores this weekend and I'm wishing you lots of bargains and good luck!  :)  After the hustling and bustling, I hope you take time for yourself to settle in and enjoy some crafting. It's very easy to forget to slow down during this hectic time of the year.

How about some creations with the new Glitz Design goodies?  It's so easy to be inspired by these amazing products!  I made this first card by making a long "tag" and then adhered it to a card base.  This tall size is fun for a change!

Supplies:
Glitz Design "Scarlett" Papers:  Bouquet, Stripe
Glitz Design "Scarlett" Paper Layers
Glitz Design "Scarlett" Peek-a-Boo accents
Glitz Design Fleur de Lis rub-on
Other:  Papertrey Ink cardstock, Zanny Zinnia crochet flower, Creative Imaginations pearl brad, own ribbon

The following card has a flower that was fussy cut from Love Nest Floral paper.  You'll see on the close up photo that I added diamond dust to enhance the outline of the flower.  It's a subtle, elegant effect. I also placed a Love Nest Peek-a-Boo accent behind the flower.  I love using them!

Supplies:
Glitz Design "Love Nest" Paper:  Damask
Glitz Design "Hoopla" Papers:  Pipework, Polka
Glitz Design "Love Nest" Peek-a-Boo Accent

Enjoy the rest of the holiday weekend and let the shopping begin!  {wink}

Flashback Friday!

It's Friday!  Oh joy!

I couldn't resist the Flashback Friday Challenge my good friend Amy is hosting.  This month is all about re-posting the very first Christmas card showed off on our blogs.  Isn't that a FUN idea?!  I had a difficult time deciding between two different cards.  There is a winter themed one I posted a couple of months before this card but I picked this one since it's technically Christmas.

This actually isn't very old.  I originally posted it November 5, 2009 and here I am posting it again EXACTLY 1 year later!  Isn't that crazy?!  :)  I made this card using a wonderful sketch from Kazan when I was trying out for a design team spot at 2 Sketches 4 You.  I'm sure this isn't the oldest card in the Flashback Friday Challenge but I had a great time going down Memory Lane!

Be sure to check out Amy's Flashback Friday Challenge.  You can find all the details here.  Enjoy your weekend!

Supplies:  Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink, Bazzill Basics; Pattern Paper:  K&Company, Papertrey Ink; Stamp, Ink, ribbon:  Papertrey Ink; Red berries:  Darice; Doily:  Wilton; Punches:  EK Success

Thank You

My sweet friend Ingrid sent me the MOST wonderful creations in the mail.  Not only did she send me a GORGEOUS birthday card, but she also made a darling gift card holder filled with goodies and a gift card! She used my favorite October Afternoon pattern papers for both of them.  Ingrid has a style that I continually admire.  Mixing pattern papers and adding embellishments with flowers, buttons, tags and more is her speciality.

This is the thank you card I made for Ingrid.  It took me way too long to make her a card and there are no excuses.  Better late than never! I just wanted her to know how much I appreciate and adore her.  She is truly a special friend!

Thank you again, Ingrid!
