Friday Randomness
1. It's stinkin' hot and getting hotter. I hate to admit this, but I'm feeling a bit desperate for the cooler temps of fall. High 90s F or even low 100s F just isn't my thing (high 30s C into 40C+ with the humidex factor).
2. I'm really loving these days off work. I've had a great time so far, shopping for things I need and I few I don't, and getting a few things done around the house.
3. I went to Value Village this morning and found a terrific teal spring/fall jacket, really well made, not showing any wear at all. A splurge at $12, though. Then I popped in to Liquidation World and found a few more little things, including a soft, plush cat bed for $5 (!) for the shelter donation project. (BTW, I'm still on knitted blanket #27 and have been for ages. I can't look at it right now, it's so hot, let alone pick up the needles.)
4. My bus at the transfer point, heading home, was a no show at noon. A call to our City's customer service line gave me the info that the transmission on the bus had gone and they weren't even sure a bus was going to show up at 12:30PM. Nice. So I cabbed it home. I ought to have gotten a receipt and sent it to the City for reimbursement.
5. While I was waiting for the cab, I saw the co-owner of the repair company that does a lot of work here. Same guy who's been here a few times in recent months about the ongoing leaky basement issue. He was on his cell phone, talking about a $160K job. I spent a few minutes imagining what I'd do with $160K. LOL. But you know what? If I had to give up something to get the money, like my health and/or mobility or my job or home or my cats or something else important, I wouldn't. There's not enough money in the world to give up something or someone precious.
6. Have I mentioned it's hellishly hot? And will be even hotter tomorrow?
7. I have my fingers crossed for a quiet weekend, if I'm lucky. The 6-year old girl next door has been with her grandma (again) in Toronto this week, and if they pick her up this weekend, they might be away at least one night. I live in hope.
That's enough "randomness" from me and more than anyone wants to read. Stay cool (or warm, as the case may be) and have a great weekend. I feel a homemade iced chai tea coming on. :-)

I was pleased to see this annual blooming again, for the first time since May.

I hope your weekend is cooler and quieter.
I love when I shop and find bargains.
And, the yellow flower is lovely.
My yard seems to be a lot of purples and pinks this year with a splash or two of blue.

Anyway!!! Yay for a great bargain shop!!! I am totally loving the name "Liquidation World"!
My goodness that's hot! We had a sort of heatwave last week but nothing like these temps you're experiencing! But at least your African Daisy (I think it's an African daisy!) is loving the weather!
I pray you have a quiet and calm and peaceful and scream-free from next door weekend!!!
p.s. another plus - the olympic athletics have finally started! yay!
Take care
