Friday Funnies

Image
We had one glorious day of spring this week, plus 3 Celsius and sunshine. Almost shorts weather. 😁 We're back to winter now! Anyway, happy Friday, have a terrific day and weekend.

Friday Funnies

This!!!!!  For so many reasons right now.  Have a good weekend, all.  P.S. The redo of the dental impressions went without a hitch, I think. The dentist did them this time.

The snow onslaught continues (and dental update)

Gahhh, do we ever have snow! More than I've seen in a few years, I think! And it's still snowing and blowing out, has been since yesterday afternoon. I've shovelled my driveway three times now, once yesterday and twice today. I give up. It's all blown back in and I'll "tunnel" out tomorrow. Good thing Monday is the Family Day holiday, with almost everything closed anyway. As for the back space, I'm not even going to attempt to clear a path to the gate.  BTW, my dental saga continues. The clinic called late Friday afternoon; apparently the impressions that the dental assistant took cannot be used by the lab making the crown. (This is the same assistant who screwed up the first temporary crown.) So I have an 8 AM appointment on Tuesday to have the impressions redone. At a guess, that cement-like stuff will pull off the crown when they remove the tray from my mouth, unless they have a trick for that. I'll find out. I wasn't annoyed with the first ...

Happy Valentine's Day!

The dental gods are laughing....

Well, that was fun.   Two needles to freeze, as expected. The dentist (new to me) was good, very patient. Took over two hours all told. He did the prep work for the temporary crown, then left the assistant to do the actual temp crown.   After I left the clinic, I had time before my bus so popped into the grocery store. I was at the cash, waiting in line, when I felt something in my mouth, spit it into my hand. Ha! It was the temporary crown... very temporary at less than 15 minutes.    I was trying to hang onto it, but dropped it and then couldn't find it, in spite of getting down to look. Alas the floor is very similar in colour to that of normal teeth. Some janitor is going to find that and wonder....   It took a minute for me to realize that the tooth is singing!   Fortunately, the clinic is very close to the grocery store, so back I went, where I waited for another temporary crown to be put on. This time the dentist did it. Fingers crossed it stays on...

It's pretty, but...

It's very pretty, yes, but really? More winter?! (And a lot more on the way this week, if the forecast holds.)       I snapped those pics with the phone yesterday morning, when I was heading out for breakfast. We'd had a few more inches of light, fluffy snow overnight Saturday. Very pretty, easy to shovel. Still...I could do without this return to a "real" winter!   Below is another Molly. I met her on Saturday afternoon. She got three doggie treats out of me. :-)     She was another one that really needs to go to pup school, to learn how to behave around strangers. As much as I love dogs, I really don't appreciate them jumping all over me and being grabby with the treats.   Have a good week, everyone. Hopefully no one else has dental work this week! I have an appointment first thing Wednesday morning for a crown (the temporary one, the permanent one will be in two weeks). It's the last bottom molar; the other three already have crowns. Yay me! 😨

Wednesday Winter Wonderland

Image
We had rain on Monday before it turned to snow overnight. And while I'm heartily sick and tired of winter, I admit it was rather magical looking yesterday! (Click to enlarge. Most were quick snaps with the phone.)     Only about 8 or so more weeks of winter to go....

Monday: Muffler, Molly, and Magnus

Image
Monday alliteration!   Muffler, a 4-year old rambunctious fellow in the mall a few weeks ago. He was too squirmy to get a good pic.    Molly, a very good girl I met last week at lunchtime. She sat and took her bacon treat (I take dog treats with me now) very gently: Magnus, whom (who?) I met last Friday on the way home from an appointment. A six-month old Saint Bernard x Bernese. Gorgeous and HUGE. He was less gentle taking the treat, rather grabby. He seemed to be a handful for the older woman, and I wondered at the wisdom of the friend who gave him to her last fall. (We were chatting for a few minutes.) Magnus definitely needs to be in puppy school! Bonus: Kenny, who lives on the other side of the common walkway from me. I hadn't seen him since before Christmas. He's such a cutie. He only gets freeze dried beef liver for treats, so I bought some on Friday! Have a great day, all. (Maybe when the weather warms up again I'll see cats out and about. Though I'd rather thei...
