Oh boy!

After nine months of anticipation…Taylor Jeffrey entered our world this past weekend! We are thrilled to have another little boy.
Can I just tell you that I love being a mom and can't wait for many years of chasing Taylor and Logan around.

Aaron quickly made the discovery that Taylor is just like Daddy! He was "blessed" with double calics (spelling?). We had a good laugh over this. Poor Taylor will have a permanent hair spike in the back.

The three men in my life! I guess I was just meant to be out numbered by boys my entire life (4 brothers.)

Logan wasn’t really sure what to make of his new sibling. He was more interested in my crackers than anything else.

More pictures to come later but life is calling…well life actually has a stinky diaper (:

A typical day of Logan’s

Logan starts his morning out with a HUGE breakfast. Seriously, this kid can down 2-3 large pancakes and a cup of milk. He is just giving heed to the old saying, “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.” It is a good thing he get a good start because he doesn’t slow down from there.

We read our scriptures together in the morning. Logan looks either at his picture book version of The Book of Mormon or flips through the travel size version.
If Daddy is home, Logan gets to “work-out” with him. This consists of sitting on Daddy’s back while Daddy does push-ups, acting as a weight for bar lifts, being used as a medicine ball for sit-ups, and morally supporting Daddy while on a long run. Logan really likes to go for rides in his Chariot. On days that Aaron is at work, Logan will go and just sit in the Chariot.

Depending on the day, his mess starts in one room such as the kitchen. Here he can be found pulling all the stuff out of the drawers, or in our room at Aaron’s bookshelf removing everything in sight, or in the living room throwing all his toys out of the toy bin.

Now after making such messes, Logan gets to help clean up. He likes to sweep the tile in the kitchen and the carpet everywhere else. He will push the vacuum while I hold it up with the cord. He thinks that he is pushing it all by himself.

Unloading the silverware is one of his many chores. He takes this very seriously. In fact, he enjoys unloading so much that he will try to unload the dirty dishes.

He isn't quite old enough to help fold the laundry. So he is in charge of the hangers. He hands one to me when I ask him for one.

After our chores are done we get to walk to the park, read stories, and just have fun playing together. His nap time changes from day to day. Sometimes he takes two naps other days just one long one. Nap time has become my nap time or sewing hour. I am trying to finish a quilt before the baby gets here. Good news I am almost done.

Then around six we start dinner. Logan rocks at mixing things with the whisk or wooden spoon. He is very handy at unwrapping things and putting them into the pot or mixing bowl. After dinner is in the oven we wait for Daddy to get home. Logan will attack Aaron at the door.

Dinner is a fun event of the day. Lucky for us, Logan doesn't throw food. He likes to mash it around his tray and in his hair. Stuff in your hair automatically gets you a ticket to the bathtub! Bath time and bedtime are the last things in his busy day. He goes to sleep really well. Wouldn't you after a day like his?

Bennion Reunion 2011

Another Bennion Reunion has come and gone. This year we headed south to the Red Cliffs Area of St. George. Like all gatherings are; it was a blast. I wasn’t sure about two things: First, Logan had a tooth coming in and when he is teething he cries out/whimpers throughout the night. I was afraid he would keep his cousins up at night with his moaning. However, he slept soundly through the first night. Better than most of the adults, who all woke up to the heavy wind/rain storm. Second, I wasn’t so sure about sleeping on the ground being 8 months pregnant. The queen blowup mattress and the pack n’ play doesn’t fit very well in our tent. So we got out Aaron’s old twin blow mattress. But alas! It had a hole in it. Plan B it was: We called my parents and borrowed a mattress from them. This mattress was just used a week before and was just fine. Levi slept on it when we were in Salt Lake. But alas! It had a hole in it too! How it got a hole in it, when it worked fine the week, before is beyond me. So in the end I got to “sleep” on the ground. I wouldn’t recommend it for very fat pregnant ladies. Logan was a big help in putting up tents...
This picture only shows half of the crew's sleeping quarters.
Logan had so much fun camping. He ran around inside the tent, giddy with excitement, as Aaron and I put the tent up. He thought the endless supply of red sand was pretty neat too. The whole campground was his very own giant sandbox.

Poor Toby had to put up with a lot of kids chasing him. Logan especially liked to terrorize the poor dog. Toby is very patience and obedient dog. He never once barked or snapped at any of the kids or other campers.

Logan is eating his muffin that he dropped in the sand. YUMMY!!
This year we went on two hikes. I only went on the first. Logan and Allen were napping during the second so I stay back to hold down the fort. The first hike was to an old Indian cache. My boys ran ahead with Weston and Chase; so I didn't get any pictures of them hiking.

I finally caught up to my boys at the end of the trail. Logan is quite the explorer. Climbing on rocks and digging through sand is pretty cool according to him.

Above I mentioned the wind/rain storm, yep bummer weather hit us the second night. So we decided to pack up camp and head for shelter. Lucky for us Kent and Natalie live only 20 minutes away. We spent the rest of the week at their house and went out on day trips -weather permitting.

Before a rain storm rolled through we had to hurry and do the SAWDUST PILE!!! Logan really got into it this year. He loves candy...that's my sugar baby!

Can't wait for next year!
