Part 3

Part 3 of 3

Taylor and Logan are blessed to have some of the best Uncles and Aunts. Colby and Kayla were kind enough to join us for a hike. We scouted out the trail to the tee pee by our cabin. This is a great short hike that I loved as a little kid. Colby and I decided we should let Kayla, Taylor, and Logan see our little hiding place.

Silly Colby, you need to double knot Logan's shoelace! Good thing Kayla came to the rescue or Logan might have added to his display of bruises and bumps on his head.

Yeah we made it to the top. I didn't change out the lens on the camera and realized that was a mistake when we got to the tee pee. The foliage around the tee pee was too tall for me to take a picture from far away. Besides, I don't think I care to show you the tee pee anyways. It is one of my special hiding places and you will have to find it yourself.

Bear Lake is so breathtaking. I forget every year how stunning the blue is.

SPLISH SPLASH

My mom told me about a splash pad down the road from us. I had never heard of it and went to investigate. Sure enough there was a fun place for Logan to cool off in. We went one afternoon and had a blast.

Our champion lifeguard.

He may or may not have fallen asleep on the job but we will still keep him.

Part 2 of 3: Happy B-day Nicole

Well first things first...HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE SIS! We love you and are so happy you came to visit us. You should come again. We have lots we didn't get to do. Logan wants you to take you to this really cool hike we went on. Schedule us in to your busy schedule.

Yesterday I got both boys to take a nap and jumped on the opportunity to blog. But I couldn't get my pictures to upload. I tried and tried and tried. Then I gave up and had to blog this morning. So here is part 2 of 3...

Nicole came to spend the weekend with us after her tennis camp. She and Aaron "duked" it out on the court. To be honest, I am not sure who won. But she is getting pretty good. One night we went to park that has a big stream running through due to the spring run-off. The water was freezing. Logan didn't seem to mind. We had to keep an eye on him to make sure he didn't get too cold--are blue lips a bad thing?

Nicole and Aaron racing along the stream. Aaron had an advantage with his tall legs.

They also had a contest to see who could get the most of their body in the water. Nicole won that contest by dunking her head. She got a brain freeze.

Logan got really tired and just wanted to snuggle. I love it when he will sit still long enough to snuggle. Snuggle time is becoming rare as he gets more active.

Independence Day

I love playing with sparklers on the 4th of July and couldn't wait to let Logan get his hands on them. However the store was out of them when we went to get some. They had this other type so I thought what the heck and bought them. WOW! These were SPARKLERS. Uncle Chris helped Logan light one. We got the standard sparks but then to our surprise it started to shoot out sparks. We had to quickly point the shooting sparks away from Chris's goatee. Logan thought they were SO cool.

BBQing with Chris and Sara is always a blast. Sara made this really yummy dessert that is a tradition in Chris's family. I think it should become a tradition in the Bennion household. I just need to get the recipe.

One long morning of just tinkering around the house, we decided to go hiking that afternoon. Aaron and I really wanted to find a new place to hike with kids. We heard about a hike that goes to a waterfall and some natural hot springs. So we decided to scout out the trail.

Granola Bars Rock!

Taylor looks grumpy in this picture. He really was such a trooper the whole hike.

Logan and Aaron played in the hot springs and cooled off in the river.

We loved this hike and really want to take Nicole on it (Hint Hint Nicole).

Brace yourself

Due to our summer schedule, I have lacked in the blogging department. Tons of pictures and fun stories to go with them just seemed to get put on the back burner. I therefor have a goal this week of catching up on the going on's of our family. This is part one of three mega blogs for this week.

Like every proud parent, we just had to take the oh so embarrassing baby in a bath tub picture. After I compared Taylor's picture to one we took of Logan. They are only two weeks apart in the pictures but look somewhat similar. Aaron had a hard time telling the difference. This top one is Logan

And this bottom one is Taylor.

A tribute to Taylor

Taylor really likes it when people talk to him and lets them know with a huge grin.

A tribute to Logan

Logan has been learning to sleep in his big boy bed. So far it is going okay. Because it is still dusk outside at Logan's bedtime, his room doesn't get that dark for another 45 minutes or so. Logan takes this opportunity to play much to our disliking. One night we opened the door to find Logan with a death grip on his beloved swing. This kids seriously loves to swing

Another night we opened the door to find this lovely mess...

Logan was in his room playing as I was feeding Taylor. I could hear him pushing his piggy bank around the room. Then I heard him getting frustrated. He came running in the room with the piggy bank dangling from his hand. He unscrewed the opening and reached in. Poor Logan didn't understand why his fist full of pennies would come out. It was too cute and funny.

This is what happens when I let Logan help me bring in the groceries.

And this is what happens if you fall asleep when Logan is really into stickers...

Logan really wants to go on a jeep ride Grandpa Duff! He would not look at the camera.

And finally some brother pictures for your viewing delight.

Loves!

Of course Aaron is taking the chance to teach his boys how to wrestle.

Logan was one count away from being pinned when he fought his way off his back.

Tomorrow will be post 2 of the week
