Kevin Turns the big 2-9!

The day before Kevin’s birthday was staff appreciation day at his office, where Kevin would do whatever work they needed done on that day. They were kind enough to squeeze me in for a morning appointment :) We got a babysitter for Kimball, so that we could take his staff out to lunch to complete the appreciation day. After lunch, the staff had arranged for a cake to be brought out by our waiter to celebrate Kevin’s birthday. They were very kind in thinking of that. It was nice because everyone was stuffed from lunch that half the cake was still left, so we could enjoy on his birthday the next day. It saved me from having to bake a cake ;)

Happy Birthday Kevin! You have done so much already in your short lifetime. You are such a hard worker and we appreciate the sacrifices you make for us! You are the best daddy to our girls and the greatest husband to me! We hope your day was filled with fun and good memories. We love you!

Trip to San Antonio

Kevin had a CE course to take up in San Antonio on April 20th, so we made a little family vacation out of it. While Kevin went to his class, I had plans to take Kimball and Addison to the zoo. When we got there, it was packed! There was some type of event going on. I was very grateful for my smart phone that day, because I was able to get directions to the San Antonio Children’s Museum. Kimball had a blast there and it was a great way to spend a few hours in an air conditioned building!

They had these ball pit balls that you could play with when you first walk in. Kimball would put these balls into these pipes that would take them to this huge net that was hanging in the air. An employee at the museum would push a button that would release the balls to fall over all the kids. That was her favorite part :)

They also had a sand box to play in and a tractor simulator where she could climb in and push the buttons to move it.

She played pilot in the cockpit of the plane they had there.

Then she played passenger.

Kimball likes to have control, so she made her way over to the control tower.

IMG_7766

Addison was sound asleep the whole time, which is amazing considering the noise in there. Then again, I guess she does have Kimball for a sister and is used to one volume – LOUD! I also love the baby phase where they can just fall asleep anywhere.

IMG_7767

She wanted to call all her friends from this telephone booth!

She learned how to milk a cow.

Kimball is and always has been a very independent girl. She loved the fact that she got her own shopping cart and list that she had to complete. She likes to help me put the groceries on the conveyor belt at the grocery store, so she was thrilled that she could do it so easily at the museum.

This was a great way to spend time until daddy was finished with his class and needed us to pick him up. I miss having a lot of kid friendly things to do in San Antonio. The possibilities are endless!

Addison got her immunizations and did pretty well! She cried for just a moment. She is growing so fast :) She is great at eating and sleeping. She is up only 2 times a night. I feel pretty lucky. She is very mellow and is a perfect 2nd child. She knows how to roll with the punches! We love you Addison!

Easter Weekend and Addison’s Baby Blessing!

We blessed Addison in church on Easter Sunday, April 7,2013. Both sets of grandparents were able to attend, which was great! As always, my mom came with gifts. She brought matching bracelets for Kimball and Addison with their first initial in it. They were so cute! Kimball loves to match Addison and was excited to show us!

We kept it pretty basic. Kevin didn’t do any crazy designs this time.

Kevin gave Addison a beautiful blessing. Addison was perfectly silent the whole time and was smiling during the blessing. She is truly a very happy baby!

Everyone came back to our house after Sacrament meeting for lunch. We were all full from Ham, cheesy potato casserole, orange jello salad, green beans and homemade rolls. We had just enough time before Grandma and Grandpa Packard had to take off for the airport. We are grateful that they made to long trip out to Corpus Christi for the special occasion.

Later in the afternoon, Kimball went on an Easter egg hunt in our backyard. She was kind enough to share her findings with everyone else ;)

First Month in Pictures

Wow, I have got so much to catch up on! I am a bit overwhelmed with how much I have to blog about. I will try to work on a post every day and see how long that lasts ;) Addison is such a chill baby. She just goes with the flow. Here are some pictures from Addison’s first month of life.

Addison received beautiful flowers from G’ma & G’pa Briggs and G’ma & G’pa Packard!

Grandma Briggs loves to organize and de-clutter. She was very helpful with reorganizing my kitchen, closet, Kimball’s toy boxes and puzzles. Thanks mom! Kimball tried helping her out :)

IMG_7164

There was a lot of napping by everyone except Kimball :)

I love it when she falls asleep on me. I love baby snuggles! I felt like with having Kimball to take care of, these moments are few and far between.

Daddy was a great sport and let Kimball paint his finger and toe nails after he would get home from work. Luckily the nail polishes were princess water based polishes and would wipe right off :)

IMG_7228

We went and walked around the harbor. Kimball had to bring her stroller with her babies in it to be like mommy pushing Addison around in her stroller. She is such a little mom :)

IMG_7237

Kimball thought this place was her castle :) She was dancing around in it singing a funny song. I love her fun and outgoing personality!

IMG_7258

Kevin is such a great dad and loves his daughters!

IMG_7283

Kimball always asks if she can hold Addison! When we tell her yes, than she is excited and won’t stop talking about it the rest of the day :) She LOVES Addison!
