Determined

My goodness, it’s been a long time since I have posted on my family blog.  I tend to post things about our family on my home blog so this one gets a little (or a lot) forgotten about.

I do want to show you what our family is busy doing right now.

Faith is playing Upward Basketball for a local church and is really enjoying it.

The best part for her is that her daddy is helping coach.

And, this is why the post is called Determined…

This child is determined!

Her daddy taught her to say “My Ball” and to say it with grit!!

She also remembers that she has to be a good sportsman and play as unto Him!!

Life is fun…our kids are fun…they keep us young.

Keith's Graduation...2011

We celebrated Keith's highschool graduation yesterday with a few family members and lots of great friends.

What a wonderful day it was to celebrate Keith and all of his accomplishments.

We have homeschooled for eleven great and also hard years.  It was so worth it!

Congrats, Keith, you made it!

Homeschooling truly is a family affair.

Dad gives Keith his well deserved diploma.

Me, the teacher, Keith, the student, and dad, the principal.

Keith and Juju

Both Kinser crews

Three great men right here.  Dad, Keith and Uncle Ronnie

This was the largest homeschool graduating class we have ever had and this was a great group of young people!

Thanks to those who were able to be with us on this fabulous day.

So many of our family were unable to attend and they were greatly missed.

For those of you who have prayed for us through these school years, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

A Sweet Note

My oldest (being my husband) and my youngest (my daughter) had to leave tonight to go to see my husband’s father in the hospital.  They will be gone a few nights.

I always get a little weepy when any of my family members leave even if its just for a short while.  I miss them when they are gone…especially at bedtime.

Tonight when I was going to bed, I saw what my little girl had left for me lying on my pillow.

This is Pinky…

Pinky was holding a note that I was supposed to read at bedtime.

I have to share what it said because it means so much to me.

It says…

Mommy:  Remember to look on your bedside table and to remember that I Faith am always here for you!!!!

(on the bedside table was this photo that Faith put there)

The rest of the note says…

Help yourself to remember that you can do all things through Christ who gives you strength.  I love you.

From Faith

What a sweet message from my little one.  The wonderful thing about this note is that every night when Faith and I pray, we pray this verse from the Bible.  We also pray that with God all things are possible.

We won’t be together tonight to pray, but we both get it.  We both understand that it is through Christ that we can do anything and that in just a couple of days, we will be saying prayers together again, side by side.

Go Team Go!!

Faith is getting to use her gift of encouragement in the Upward Basketball Program at a local church in our community.

It’s a great program for our children!

The awesome thing is that the cheerleaders are cheering for both teams.  They are not supporting just one, but both.

Faith is a natural!

She loves it!

Of course, I love watching her!

Big (for us) Snow Day

What a wonderful, beautiful snow day we had today.

Let the pictures speak for themselves…

We had about 5-6 inches of snow that fell through the night last night.  You have to understand that we never have this much snow.  Needless to say, we were all thrilled!

Thank you God for the beautiful snow.  Thank you God for time with family.

Mrs. Claus Kitchen

Beth came up with a great idea this Christmas and decided to have a baking day with Faith and two of her friends.  She sent out invitations and asked each girl to bring their apron and a smile.

Mrs. Claus’ Kitchen was decorated and in full baking mode all day.  The scents that came from there were incredible and the food delish beyond words.

The girls started the day off early yesterday reading recipes, mixing, baking, decorating, snacking,  and having loads of fun.

At the end of the day, each girl got to take home all kinds of sweet treats that she had helped make.

The menu for the day included Mrs. Claus Sugar Cookies, Snowballs, Frosty’s Pumpkin Bread, Rudolph’s Hot Chocolate,  and Santa’s Favorite M&M Cookies.

Beth surprised Faith with some of the decorating details.

Sweet face, isn’t it?

baking day 2

The center of the table had all of the cookie cutters out and ready to use.

baking day 3

All of the baking ingredients and utensils were being watched over carefully by Mr. and Mrs. Gingerbread Man.

baking day 4

More of the baking stuff.

baking day 6

Beth, Kennedy, Lexxie, and Faith.

All of these girls are homeschooled so this was a great fun home economics lesson.

baking day 7

Beth had recipe books for each girl.  She also added recipes that they were not making so their books would have more choices.

baking day 8

The sugar cookie were wonderful, the pumpkin bread truly incredible.  I didn’t get a picture of the m&m cookies, but they too were great.  They also fixed homemade hot chocolate and put it into jars with an instruction label on the front.

baking day 9

These were the snowballs they made.  You can see that they had already been divided among the girls so there weren’t many left.

What a fun day baking and spending time together!!

Are you wondering where I was the entire day?

Well, I wasn’t allowed in the kitchen except for some cleanup time during the day.  My friend Veronica and I decided to take advantage of the time and wrap Christmas gifts for the girls.  It was great fun and time well spent.

You know I am all about making memories and I do think this was another memory for the memory book.
