| Game 41 (43) is in the books… The Warriors step up to three games below .500 with a convincing win over the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks are 18W/26L to the Warriors 19W/22L so based on record, the Warriors should have managed a fairly close win. We won, but it was actually more competitive than the final score would seem – until the fourth quarter. |
| The final score in this game: 134 to 112. The teams were competitive early and the Warriors led by 1pt at the half. They then went up by 9 at the end of the third quarter, before finishing ahead by 22pts. |

| Regular Season Record – (19 Wins – 22 Losses) |
| Game 41 (43): Warriors 134 / Hawks 112 |
| Initial Observations: The Warriors had two games “postponed” last week due to the sudden death of their assistant coach: Dejan Milojevic. Milojevic had a heart attack while the team was traveling for last week’s Wednesday game against the Utah Jazz. That game and the Friday game against the Dallas Mavericks will be played sometime later in the season (dates not yet announced). |
Conclusion: This was an emotion filled game prefaced by a commemoration ceremony for the team’s assistant coach. The team responded well in their first game back. They played mostly effective offense (started a bit slow) and very good defense (including 9 blocked shots). The Warriors had seven players in double figures for points and Jonathan Kuminga was particularly impressive with 25pts total and 11 for 11 from the field. This tied the all-time team record for consecutive shots in one game previously held individually by Hall of Fame player Chris Mullin. It was also JK’s 21st consecutive game in double figures for points.

| Game 42 is tomorrow against the Sacramento Kings (24W/18L) at home (SF)… The Kings are a decent team (better than us on paper and two places ahead of us in the division standings) so it looks like the Warriors will have a good chance to see if they can carry tonight’s emotion over into a winning streak… |
| With the two games postponed, this game marked the mid-point of the regular season for the Warriors… Tonight’s dominating win gives us some momentary hope the Warriors can make a push to get into the playoffs after the All-Star break coming up in mid-February (11 games away). |

| You can tell a lot about a person by the way they handle three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights. |
