We loose ourselves in books…

Während ich die „Reverse-Stencelling-Technik“, die diesen Monat in unserer Stempelpostgruppe als Technik vorgeschlagen war, ausprobiert habe, und mit meinen Ergebnissen überhaupt nicht zufrieden war …, ist auch mein rosa HG für die Karte entstanden, Das Reverse-Stencelling mit dem TH-Flourish-Stencil (unten auf der Karte) hat nicht wirklich funktioniert. Deshalb habe ich ein bisschen versetzt den Schnörkel noch mal mit Distress Oxied (kitched flamingo) darüber gestencelt. Meinen anderen Stencil „Circle Of Trust“ habe ich einfach ebenfalls mit DO eingefärbt und dann auf“s Papier abgedrückt. Das ist in gewissem Sinne auch „reverse“ – war so aber nicht gefragt. (Sondern auf Aquarell-HG mit feuchtem Tuch/Schwamm durch die Schablone die Bereiche aufhellen…)
Es ist mir auch nicht mir brushos + stencil besonders gelungen … (Hat früher schon mal primstens geklappt. 🧐)
Also lange Rede – kurzer Sinn: den pinken HG habe ich genommen und zu eineer Karte zum Thema Bücher / Lesesan verarbeitet.

While trying out the “reverse stencilling technique” suggested by our stamping group this month, I wasn’t at all happy with the results… but I did end up with my pink background for the card. Reverse stencilling with the TH Flourish stencil (below on the card) didn’t really work. So I stenciled the flourish again with Distress Oxied (kitched flamingo) slightly offset. I simply colored my other stencil, “Circle Of Trust,” with DO as well and then pressed it onto the paper. In a sense, this is also “reverse”—but that wasn’t what was asked for. (Instead, lighten the areas on watercolor background with a damp cloth/sponge through the stencil…)
I didn’t have much success with brushos + stencil either… (It worked perfectly in the past. 🧐)
So, long story – short: I took the pink HG and turned it into a card on the theme of books/reading.

… diese Woche für das Alice-Thema, das Marion für SPA ausgewählt hat.
Ein Thema, bei dem ich immer gerne wieder dabei bin. 🙃
Zu Alice habe ich inzwischen einige Stempel, aber nur drei englische Sprüche von IndigoBlu. Den ausgewählten finde ich sehr passend. Denn wir sind alle unterschiedlich. Das geht mitunter im Alltag unter, wenn wir mal wieder alle pauschal gleichgesetzt werden.

It’s a theme I always enjoy participating in. 🙃
I now have several Alice stamps, but only three english sayings from IndigoBlu. I think the one chosen is very fitting. Because we are all different. This sometimes gets lost in everyday life when we are all lumped together again.

… diese Woche zum Thema „Telefon“ bei OMM.
Auf dieses Thema habe ich gewartet, um endlich mein „Vintage Phone“ von Woodware benutzen zu können. 😄
Dieses mal „quick & easy“: Den HG mit zwei Distress Oxides und dem Stencel „Kialo“ von Dutch Diibadoo.
Die Stempelmotive sind seperat gestempelt und dann aufgeklebt.

This time “quick & easy”: the background with two Distress Oxides and the “Kialo” stencil from Dutch Diibadoo.
The stamp motifs are stamped separately and then glued on.

… diese Woche für SPA.
Dazu habe ich lange überlegt, WIE, WAS, WO … und nach einem ausführlichen Spaziergang im Netz fand ich auf dem Blog vonKath Stewart ein tolles Beispiel mit dem „Inspector“ von Tim Holtz. Ich gebe zu, ich habe es gnadenlos gecovert. 😎
Den HG mit den „Creative Blocks“ hatte ich schon lange auf meinem Basteltisch liegen. Nun konnte ich ihn endlich verwenden. 😉
Und ich wusste, dass ich unbedingt den Steckenpferdchen-Spruch (nach Søren Kierkegaard) dafür verwenden wollte.
„Geometrisch“ sind bei mir also nur der HG und der Kompass (?). Ich hoffe, dass das zählt?

I thought long and hard about HOW, WHAT, WHERE… and after an extensive walk through the internet, I found a great example onKath Stewart’s blog using Tim Holtz’s “Inspector.” I admit, I copied it unabashedly. 😎
The background with the “Creative Blocks” had been lying on my craft table for a long time. Now I could finally use it. 😉
And I knew that I definitely wanted to use the Steckenpferdchen-quote (according to Søren Kierkegaard) for it.
The qoute means nearly: „The crazy thing about life is that you live it forward and understand it backward.„
So for me, only the background and the compass are “geometric.” I hope that counts?

… ist mein Beitrag für OMM diese Woche zum Thema „Reflections“.
Das englische Wort „reflection“ hat mehrer Bedeutungen: im Sinne von Spiegelung / Spiegelbild, Reflexion / Selbstreflektiion / Nachdenken.
Mein Hauptmoriv habe ich teilweise gespiegelt (in einer Pfütze) und der Spruch trifft meines Erchtens für eine Reflexion zu.

„Learn to dance in the rain“. This is my entry for OMM this week on the theme of “Reflections”.
The English word “reflection” has several meanings: in the sense of mirroring/reflection, reflection/self-reflection/contemplation.
I partially mirrored my main motif (in a puddle) and I think the saying applies to a reflection.

„… für die Dinge, die dich glücklich machen.“ Das ist meine Karte diese Woche für SPA.
Meine Stempelfreundin Sabine hat dafür das Thema „Spielzeit„ ausgewählt.
Als Kinder konnten wir alle in unserem Spiel versinken, und die Welt um uns herum vergessen.
Für meine Karte habe ich eines der neueren Motive von Andy Skinner ausgesucht und mit einem Spruch
von Steckenpferdchen kombiniert.

“Take time for the things that make you happy.” This is my card for SPA this week.
My stamping friend Sabine chose the theme “Playtime” for this challenge.
As children, we could all immerse ourselves in our games and forget the world around us.
For my card, I chose one of Andy Skinner’s newer designs and combined it with a saying
from Steckenpferdchen.

Winterwunderland

… diese Woche zum Thema „Schneemann“ bei OMM.
Da hatte ich meine Weihnachtsstempel schon wieder gut aufgeräumt … 😉
Aber ok, es ist immer noch Winter und kalt soll es hier bei uns auch wieder werden. Schneemänner habe ich nur zwei: den hier verwendeten von Tim Holtz und einen von Art Impression.
Einen winterliche HG hatte ich noch in meinem Stapel mit den HG-Papier liegen. Gestaltet nach dem gleichen Prinzip wie hier beschrieben. Und „Winterwunderland“ von Karten-Kunst passte da gut für mich als Titel. ☃️

But okay, it’s still winter and it’s supposed to get cold again here. I only have two snowmen: the one used here by Tim Holtz and another by Art Impression.
I still had a winter-themed background in my stack of background papers. Designed according to the same principle as described here. And “Winterwonderland” by Karten-Kunst was the perfect title for me. ☃️

Blue Monday

… diese Woche für SPA.
Der dritte Montag im Januar soll der „Blue Monday“ sein. Geprägt wurde der Begriff 2005 von einem britischen Reisebüro. So kann man auch das Geschäft ankurbeln. 😎
Bei mir ist nicht nur kommenden Montag „blue monday“, sondern eigentlich JEDEN Montag. Ich halte es da ganz mit den Boomtown Rats: „I don’t like mondays.“ Das hat vor allem damit zu tun, dass Montags generell der Übergang von der schönen freien Zeit in die neue Arbeitswoche erfolgt, mit einem entsprechenden Tief (für mich).
Für die passende Gefühle kamen mir diverse Klartext-Texte gerade recht. 😉

The third Monday in January is supposed to be “Blue Monday.” The term was popularized in 2005 by a British travel agency. It’s one way to boost business. 😎
For me, it’s not just next Monday “Blue Monday,” but actually EVERY Monday. I totally agree with the Boomtown Rats: “I don’t like Mondays.” This is mainly because Mondays generally mark the transition from the nice free time to the new working week, with a corresponding low (for me).
Various plain-language texts came quite handy for expressing the appropriate feelings. 😉
The little german quot4es means: „Even the worst day only lasts 24 hours.“, „That will happen again..“, „Close eyes and go for it.“, „Take a deep breath.“, „Don’t fool yourself.“

… diese Woche für OMM.
Dafür habe ich mal wieder eines meiner Motive der „großen Katzen“ (Horace) von Katzelkraft verwendet und es mit Hilfe einer Kunstoff-Folie gespiegelt. Blau & gelb machen schon Lust auf Frühling. Aber der ist noch lange nicht in Sicht. Nach Schnee und Eisglätte ist es hier wieder grau, trist & matschig. 😳

For this, I once again used one of my “big cat” motifs (Horace) by Katzelkraft and mirrored it with the help of an acetate sheet. Blue & Yellow are already getting us in the mood for spring. But it’s still a long way off. After snow and icy conditions, it’s gray, dreary and slushy here again. 😳

Diese Woche hat Deann bei SPA das Thema „Gefiederte Freunde“ ausgesucht.
Vögel habe ich ein paar … *lach*. Und meine Wahl fiel das auf den „Snowy Bird“ von Stampendous.
Den habe ich auf einen HG gesetzt, bei dem ich den Embossing-Folder „Snowflake Swirl“ von Cuttelbug als „Stempel“ auf Druckerpapier benutzt habe. Das ist eine schöne und schnelle Technik. 🙂
Der Spruch stammt aus dem Adventskalender 2025 der StempelBar und stammt aus dem Gedicht „Stufen“ von Hermann Hesse. Den wollte ich natürlich sofort für diese Karte verwenden.

„A magic dwells in each beginning“ (roughly translated).
This week, Deann chose the theme “Feathered Friends” for SPA.
I have a few birds… laughs. And I chose the “Snowy Bird” from Stampendous.
I placed it on a background where I used the “Snowflake Swirl” embossing folder from Cuttelbug as a “stamp” on printer paper. It’s a nice and quick technique. 🙂
The saying comes from the 2025 Advent calendar by StempelBar and is taken from the poem “Stufen” (Steps) by Hermann Hesse. Of course, I wanted to use it for this card right away.
