More stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- EU fires a free speech warning at X. Have to wonder if this was a clumsy attempt by EU officials to get free "Blue Checkmarks" on their X accounts gone globally wrong?

- Harvest Now Decrypt Later (HNDL). Was unaware of this cyber threat. (HT Tim Ferriss)

- How AI is uncovering hidden geothermal energy recourses.

- How AI can actually increase employment - like in radiologists.

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Javier Milei and rent control. This is the way. We've known for decades that rent control is a bad policy.

- From the archives: Paul Graham - How to Think for Yourself.

- We need to talk about Ken Burns' American Revolutionary War documentary. Burns originally wanted to cut Shelby Foote from his Civil War documentary. That's all you need to know about his sensibility.

- Jonathan Turley: GWU students call for RFK Jr. to be barred from campus.

ChatGPT dolls becoming caregivers in South Korea. The cost of a caregiver and a robot already have to be close. How soon does it become cheaper for an insurance plan to just cover the costs of a robot?

- Interesting profile of Squadron Barkley. Was not aware of that side of Barkley.

- Removing phones from the classroom truly is a bi-partisan issue. In the age of AI I'd include teachers in that ban too.

- Ted Talk: Let's Get Real about Free Speech.

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- The importance of Vitamin D.

- President Trump's fight against the Pulitzer Board. Used to be the rule when a source lied to a journalist the journalist was free to burn that source or it became assumed the journalist was part of the lie. That may be the case here.

- Jonathan Turley: Marco Rubio declares war on the global censors. Agree 100%.

- Peter Attia with some miscellaneous health advice.

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Glenn Reynolds: The route continues, but be ready for the counterattack. Like Sherman's historic race to the sea - Trump is having a historic race through the federal bureaucracy.

- Bring back the draft (well sort of). Not a fan of a draft but can't fault the argument here.

- A DC court sanctions climate scientist Michael Mann and his lawyers for misconduct.

- Matt Taibbi's interview of FIRE's counsel Tyler Coward. Long but interesting read.

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Bill Belichick and UNC to be featured on this season's Hard Knocks. No NFL team volunteered for the show so Belichick gets the chance to turn this into a recruiting too.

- VDH: Who Caused the Counter-Revolution

- Glenn Reynolds: Reigning in the District Courts. Sounds like a good idea.

- Using a mirror and not a window,

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- How the US Government controls Ukraine's media. "Instead of watchdogs, they became guard dogs." Wow!

- K9 Hurricane, the most decorated dog in US history, has died

- When bystanders film crimes. Questions we have all asked.

- What it means to be a free speech absolutist. Interesting history lesson.

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Why cutting government spending is so tough in the first place. Sadly true.

- The USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) got bumped (ugly). I agree both that it's worrying that a new low-tech targeting method may have been revealed and that even if they are targets we need more aircraft carriers.

- The leadership grace of coach Buzz Williams. Good advice!

- Jonathan Turley: Critics prove Vance's point on anti-free speech movement. The pro free speech message needs to be repeated as often and as loudly as possible.

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Bari Weiss: Dark Tunnels and Moral Beacons. Morning the deaths of 6 Israeli hostages brutally killed.

- Mathbabe Blog. Periodic math-related content that I'm going to check out. Can't vouch for the quality - but like I said wanted to check it out.

- Glenn Reynolds with some thoughts on Labor Day

- Government censorship and the war on free speech. Reminder that Kamala Harris's campaign manager was one of the ones in charge of government censorship in the Biden-Harris administration.

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- From the archive: Thomas Sowell's 3 questions. Good practice to be in.

- John Fetterman has no regrets. Interesting (but longish) profile of a guy who could become the face of a new Democratic Party or is one step away from saying he's an Independent.

- Jonathan Turley on the EU declaring war on free speech in the US. People should boycott traveling to Europe in favor of traveling to US states instead in response to this attack on our "indispensable right." Tourism from America to the EU is big business.

- Biden accused of abuse of power, obstruction in blistering House Republican impeachment report. Not new details but still kind of chilling to see this all documented in one place.

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- There was never a Beepocalypse

- Trillions in tax dollars hasn't made wind or solar power better or less expensive. Time for nuclear power!

- Unscientific American. Haven't even looked at the magazine in years. Long time ago they went from writing about science to writing garbage.

- Two sets of free-speech on college campuses. You can fly a Palestinian flag on college campus but not a Confederate one and you can scream "kill the Jews" but not mutter the lyrics of a popular song that says the N-word.
