- All 50 states ranked from best to worst. Florida gets top makes in both the economy and education. Someone should do a ranking that includes Greenland and Alberta, Canada.

- From the archives: The case for reading fiction. Agree but it's even more important to read for pleasure.

- Excess savings and putting away what you don't spend. I was not a fan of the book Die with Zero and seems those recommending the book are all super wealthy. Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- The Top 10 States by Average Net Worth. Ironic that these are all "blue" states where the taxes are also probably the highest and where people complain about income inequality the most.

- How "Crisis of the Day" became "Crisis of the Moment." Think part of Trump's strategy is to maintain a pace so fast that even clickbait media can't keep up.

- Pentagon officials caught using taxpayer funded credit cards at casinos, bars, and clubs. If there's proof someone was misusing a government credit card - that person should be fired. No exceptions.

- Three more topics President Trump will probably speak about tonight: this investment by TSMC - campus protests - and how unfair restrictions and tariffs on US products will no longer be tolerated.

- The USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) got bumped (ugly). I agree both that it's worrying that a new low-tech targeting method may have been revealed and that even if they are targets we need more aircraft carriers.

Sometimes You Have to Spend Money to Save Money

Much of the news has been tied up with the Trump Administration and DOGE cutting programs or finding taxpayer waste but sometimes you also have to spend money in order to set things to right. Some examples:

  • Disaster relief for the suffering people of East Palestine, Hawaii, Florida, North Carolina and California.
  • New computers and computer systems for federal workers and agencies.
  • Blockchains for each federal expenditure to make it easier to see where the money is going and track any potential fraud in the future.
  • Give veterans the same healthcare given to members of Congressional staffs to free up VA beds and staff for battle related injuries, treating PTSD, and homeless vets.
  • And many more.
