More Linky Links

More stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Dying to set a good example. He's not wrong.

- Jonathan Turley: Democrats face costly calls on Texas redistricting bluffs. He's not wrong.

- Newly released FBI files uncover Comey's plot against Trump. There needs to be jail time.

- Is the left learning the error of its woke ways? For people who say they're "woke" they never seem to "wake" up to how wrong they are.

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Tucker Carlson Episode 6. Like I said - we're watching a changing of the guard in real time.

- On an unrelated note - some actors are finally seeing the light on Woke Culture

- FBI uncovers 256 emails between Adam Schiff and Jeffrey Epstein. Wonder how many of the Democrats who congratulated Schiff on getting censored are also on Epstein's list?

- Funny because it could be true!

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Smaller, Cheaper, Safer: The next generation of nuclear power, explained. Long been a proponent of nuclear power but its interesting that outlets like Vox are also now joining the bandwagon.

- Glenn Reynolds on the Supreme Court being lectured to on ethics by scoundrels

- Nation surprised to find out Late-Night TV actually had writers. If Hollywood goes on strike and nobody notices - does it make a sound?

- Interesting Jeopardy! mystery finally solved.

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Welcoming our new Chatbot Overlords.  People should recognize that there's a world of difference between AI (a tool) and AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) which is where sentience will reside. We are a long way from AGI.

- The Biden Administration's war on large appliances.

- The IRS visiting Matt Taibbi's home the same day he was testifying to Congress is not a coincidence. The weaponization of government is becoming more overt.

- Hollywood's Great Awakening. Little skeptical since Christian films are still "niche" in Hollywood but I would not be surprised about a general Christian awakening in America as many are in desperate need of community.

Peter Gabriel's Solsbury Hill

How Peter Gabriel's Solsbury Hill inadvertently became a Hollywood soundtrack staple.

Big fan of both Peter Gabriel and Solsbury Hill. Always thought the song was based upon the book I Heard the Owl Call My Name but I'm probably mistaken on that (though the book and song do synch up very nicely).

While we're talking about Peter Gabriel - I should mention that I consider his 1986 album So to be one of the so called "perfect albums" where every song is great and it would be hard picturing changing anything.

James Garner: An Appreciation

James Garner - the Oklahoman anti-hero with a heart of gold.

Garner was perhaps my favorite actor growing up and Maverick my favorite TV series even though it first aired before I was born.

David Zucker

And this whole idea of being loyal to a party — you know, generationally it probably shouldn’t stay the same. A lot of Democrats still think they’re voting for JFK, or Roosevelt, or Truman, but the party has changed so much. They don’t realize it. It’s a lot like the traffic in LA. In 1972 it was bad, and now it’s a lot worse, but I didn’t really notice the change because it happened so gradually.

The same thing is true for the Democrats. I don’t think people realize how much they’ve changed and what they really stand for now. It’s run by the far-out nutcases. I still consider myself a JFK Democrat. Strong defense and lower taxes. That’s what Kennedy stood for, and that’s what Bush wants, so if I have to be a Republican, I’ll swallow hard and be a Republican. - David Zucker

The above quote is more than 15-years old. I can only imagine what the creative force behind such comedy classics as Airplane!, The Naked Gun, and Top Secret! among others feels about how far the Democratic Party has moved away from JFK today.
