Crazy monkeys!

Wow! I just had to write about our experiences with the monkeys today at the zoo. It was funny. The first monkeys are mandrills. They seemed all nice, and then they both just started attacking the glass while Jaycee was standing there. They really wanted to get her and she got very scared. I couldn't take the picture fast enough to get their attack, so this is when they backed off. We just had to laugh, even though it scared Jaycee.

This is a gorilla that was picking his nose and eating it. That just shows it's human/monkey nature to stick your fingers up your nose, right?

This smaller gorilla decides that he wants to throw straw on his back, so he kept throwing it up there and carrying it around on his back. Crazy monkeys!

The Zoo

We went to the Milwaukee County Zoo today with Jaycee's friend Eliza, and her mom, of course. They have season passes, so it was nothing new for Eliza, but Jaycee had so much fun. The first animal (sleeping) is a snow leopard. The tiger was the coolest. He was right by us with just an inch or so of glass separating him from my daughter, but she wasn't scared at all. Then there's the bear. He didn't do much, but I liked the picture. The last picture is showing the actual size of a baby gorilla.

Momma's little chef

Jaycee helped me make frosting for brownies today. She really liked licking the beaters, as you can tell. The only hard part is helping her understand that she can't spread her germs (she's a double-dipper). It's funny because yesterday I took a bite of an apple slice, and then she said she wanted some. I handed her the one I took a bite of and she told me, "No, yours is all slobbery." I didn't even know she knew the word "slobbery," and then to not want to eat it. I was totally offended:) So then she goes and double dips in my frosting. Kids!

"My Park"

This is Jaycee's park. When we're getting ready for the day she says, "I go to my park now." We try to go there every day, but it doesn't always happen. It's only a couple blocks from our house, so it is pretty convenient.

"Daddy turned the TV off!"

This is an adorable tantrum Jaycee had the other night because her daddy shut the TV off. It's hard to get mad at her when she's so cute and funny.

Jaycee Mae

Dear, Sweet Jaycee Mae. These are just past pictures that sum up our summer before we moved away from our families. She is such a joy. She was flying in the wind with her ladybug towel at Bear Lake and it was so cute.

That poor nose! Let's just say she fell out of a motor home onto pavement and skinned her nose. She was so tough, and her nose is pretty much back to normal now. It kind of looked like she had crooked nose holes. The last picture is of her and Cael (her cousin) on his favorite toy in the whole world. He was nice enough to let her ride.

Medical College of Wisconsin

These are pictures of the Medical College of Wisconsin. The middle picture is the main building for the medical students. That is the location of Lance's second favorite place to be for the next four years. It's actually a beautiful campus and is very well-maintained.

Welcome to Wisconsin

On Tuesday morning (3:00 AM), August 11, 2008, after being in Wisconsin for 4 days, we were warmly welcomed into the Milwaukee area by unseen guests. They went into our closed, but not locked, side garage door and broke into our car to steal our satellite radio. They also took the vent it was attached to, and our car phone charger. The first picture is of our car window rolled up in the garbage can, and the next is the missing window. Too bad we didn't take pictures before it was all cleaned up. Chemene actually heard the banging, but not until the last one. She never figured out that it was our car receiving the beating. Luckily, one of our neighbors hollered out "Hey!" to try to catch them, but they still got away. Welcome to Wisconsin.:( Now we can't go anywhere without looking over our shoulders. That usually doesn't happen in the neighborhood we're in. We're just lucky, I guess.

Jaycee's ABC's

This is a movie clip of Jaycee jumping on the couch

with an empty toilet paper roll. She is singing the

"ABC's," but has only got A, C, and F down.

The Duplex

Here is our cute little duplex. The banister on the upper part is being worked on right now, so there usually is a railing. We are in the lower duplex, so it doesn't really matter. The kitchen is brand new and Chemene loves it, since she enjoys cooking. For not being able to look at the place we were going to live before we moved here, we lucked out. The first picture of the living room is actually furnished with what furniture we brought to Wisconsin. You guessed it, we had no furniture. Our landlady actually had a garage full of furniture she was ready to give away, and we were the lucky benefactors. The second picture of the living room shows some of the furniture she gave us.

White Coat Ceremony

Lance officially started his medical career on Friday, August 15, 2008. He is attending the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI. The school had the white coat ceremony to welcome all incoming students into the world of medicine. When he is finished with four years of medical school they give them longer white coats to signify their standings as actual doctors.
