My Thoughts
I was so excited to finally read more about Bellamy, the matchmaker we have been introduced to in the first three novels in this series. He comes across a bit smug and stubborn in other books, but this novel dives into his complex character and reveals a softer side that has been hurt by love before, causing him to swear off marriage forever. I really liked the similarities that he and Zaira share, which easily lends itself to believable friendship and romance. There were a few twists that I did not see coming, which kept the book interesting. I also enjoyed the fascinating pieces of history woven into the plot. I liked how both characters had to overcome their misconceptions of perfection, instead striving to honor God and their families while recognizing their unique talents and abilities. This was a delightful series and I am a bit sad to leave the Shanahan family! Highly recommended!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. Opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.
