Tomb Raider Anniversary is splendid. Full of nooks and corners to explore for the extras and secrets and neat puzzles or acrobatic challenges. And awesome scenery. Having just invested in a new machine with a geforce 8800 ultra I get the full whammy – but amusingly there’s an option you can unlock to play the original tomb raider 1 Lara in all her boxy glory.
An important tip – the adrenaline dodge needs you to be locked on, so that’s the right mouse button. As soon as something you’re shooting rears its head, stop shooting, wait for it to get near in slo-mo, then press crouch and left (easiest usually) and wait until the reticules meet (you’ll also hear a beep) and fire. BANG! Headshot. It’s the only way to beat at least one of the beasties.
And the secret noise is back. Perfect 10.
