Books – Universal Wisdom Enlightenment Mastery

“The Secret Book of John, part of The Nag Hammadi Scriptures, emphasizes the importance of your spiritual awakening and the discovery of hidden truths and connections between the divine nature and your human soul. This emphasis on knowledge and self-discovery is a key characteristic of Gnostic theology. Who would not want you to know this?” Linda Hourihan, HHCP

Why was The Secret Book of John deemed apocryphal by the Roman Emperor who had to approve the Councils of the Church Father’s decrees on what you are to believe?

All apocryphal literature has many words of Jesus that fly in the face of past and current religious indoctrination.

Why would that be so?

The Secret Book of John opens with the teaching of the Savior, and the revelation of the mysteries and the things hidden in silence, the things he taught to his disciple John. You have not heard, nor read what is written about this unless you have allowed yourself to read The Secret Book of John within the sacred pages of The Nag Hammadi Scriptures.

Have you handed over your free will to some other institution that tells you what to think, how to vote, and how to oblate yourself to their teaching?

Never do that.

It is time the world, and especially those who claim to be Christian, read all the words Jesus taught, not only his first childhood years from his birth to age 12, and only those 3 years from his ages 30-33. He taught his apostles, disciples, and of course his beloved Mary Magdalene much more.

It is time to grow in spiritual maturity.

While some ministers and authors try to find ways to justify the violent verses of the bible, regardless of denomination including Hebrew, Christian, and all other belief systems, most have never reconciled with the truth.

Jesus taught that his Father was not your father. He taught this in both the Nag Hammadi Scriptures as well as in today’s bibles. You can find his words in John 8:37-38John 8:42-47; and John 8:19 in today’s bibles.

John 8: 37-38 says, “I know you are Abraham’s descendants, but you are trying to kill Me because My word has no place within you. I speak of what I have seen in the presence of the Father, and you do what you have heard from your father.”

John 8:42-47, Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and have come from God, for I have not even come on My own initiative, but He sent Me. “Why do you not understand what I am saying? It is because you cannot hear My word. “You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies. “But because I speak the truth, you do not believe Me. “Which one of you convicts Me of sin? If I speak truth, why do you not believe Me? “He who is of God hears the words of God; for this reason you do not hear them, because you are not of God.”

John 8:19, Then they asked him, “Where is your father?” “You do not know me or my Father,” Jesus replied. “If you knew me, you would know my Father also.”

Notice the upper case “F” and the lower case “f” in the words Father and father. This is not a typo. The first thing the Church Fathers indoctrinated the masses with was the notion and promotion that there is one God in the Nicaean Creed, from the First Ecumenical Council in 325 A.D. This council was called by Emperor Constantine to define the basic tenants of Christianity. The Nicaean Creed was also later expanded at the Second Ecumenical Council at Constantinople in 381 A.D. Since that time, the Nicaean Creed has greatly been changed as time went by and new challenges and theological questions arose from both inside and outside of Church thinking.

It is good to question how this pillar of belief could be pontificated when much of what Jesus said and taught was purposefully hidden. Who would not want you to know what other important information Jesus, the Savior, came to tell you?

While some ministers and authors try to find ways to justify the violent verses of the bible, regardless of denomination including Hebrew, Christian, and all other belief systems, most have never reconciled with the truth.

Jesus taught that there are two different gods that are involved with Creation, as mentioned above, which is the same thing that the Cathars taught. Creation is also known as the Big Bang, the implosion and explosion of Eternal Universal Life Force Energy birthing the cosmos and everything in it, including you.

This is also explained in The Secret Book of John, which explains this in greater detail. But first, you must decide who is in charge of your thinking, reasoning, and personal power; you or the church who you have placed over your own authority. Please know they are not telling you everything you need to know. Perhaps they do not know what has been kept from them either, for unholy purposes.

Step 1 is to give yourself permission to get out from under the overburden of guilt and oppression that has been placed upon you, AND TO WHICH YOU MAY HAVE AGREED TO BE UNDER.

Step 2 is to cancel that agreement that you have made with yourself, to be under someone else’s religious thumb. This will be a step you most likely will need to take more than once, since more than once you agreed to go along with things that made no logical sense to you. You assumed they were right. They were not.

Step 3 is to recognize and connect and/or re-connect with your Spirit/Soul aspect of yourself, which is much more than your emotional, mental, and physical Self. You are a Spark of Limitless Living Light of Eternal Universal Life Force Energy. This is what Jesus taught in those years that have been kept from you.

This Limitless Living Light of Eternal Universal Life Energy, which you call “God” of any personification, is ONE Majestic, Immeasurable Purity, is the Father of Jesus, the Christ Energy. It is the Spark of the life of your Life Force Energy, also known as your Spirit/Soul, your generation of human life.

But and this is a big BUT, your fleshly father, the father of human beings, is not the same Father of Jesus which Jesus came to teach you about. The Father of Jesus IS the SPARK of Limitless Living Light of the Eternal Universal Life Force Energy animating your Spirit/Soul, BUT not your physical body.

This is the reason he was crucified, because once you know this, it removes the blinders with which faith addicts blind you, AND TO WITH WHICH YOU MAY HAVE AGREED.

The baptism Jesus taught, was for you to come into the truth of who and what you truly are, a Spark, or Breath of Wisdom and Love without conditions, animating your Spirit/Soul. It is a rebirth from the understanding with which you were indoctrinated, just like he tried so hard to teach the Hebrew people of his day. Some people could not allow themselves to hear and believe what Jesus taught. The same thing goes on today.

The baptism of Jesus is a reawakening to the Spark of Eternal Universal Life Force Energy that you consciously take on as your own. It involves your free will decision to be open to the radical and innovative knowledge that the Limitless Living Light is also ignited within you by your decision to listen to all that Jesus taught, not just what has been spoon-fed to you by preachers and teachers who continued to manipulate or hide the words of Jesus from his ages 12 to 30 simply because the words of Jesus did not agree with their words. Again, I ask, who would not want you to know what other important information Jesus, the Savior, came to tell you?

Jesus also taught that there are two different gods that are involved with Creation, which is the same thing that the Cathars taught. Creation is also known as the Big Bang, the implosion and explosion of Eternal Universal Life Force Energy birthing the cosmos and everything in it, including you.

Baptism has been hijacked by religious controllers who then place upon you, even as an infant in some cases, the indoctrination of many belief systems that teach what Jesus himself did not teach.

You were not born with Original Sin, which was the sin of Sophia spoken of in The Secret Book of John. Again, you need to give yourself permission to read something other than the cult mentality you may have been indoctrinated into. You do not need to ask the modern-day cult leader if you should read such things, obviously.

The SOPHIA OF JESUS, also known as the WISDOM OF JESUS CHRIST, is part of the Gnostic Library. The word Sophia means Wisdom. It explains in greater detail about what Jesus Christ taught. It is so powerful that political and religious rulers later hid this information from your eyes. It explains how and why his Father is not your father and what took place to make that happen.

Check out the Gnostic Society Library at: Gnostic Society Library: Sources on Gnosticism and Gnosis

Original translation of the SOPHIA OF JESUS (WISDOM OF JESUS CHRIST), was prepared by members of the Coptic Gnostic Library Project of the Institute for Antiquity and Christianity, Claremont Graduate School.

The bottom line is that the Father of Jesus Christ has willingly offered to be a father to you, without the burden of false belief systems and false gods claiming to be the “One True God.” Jesus said you will know who is doing the work of his Father, which stems from genuine empathy, compassion, and Love.

Anything less than that comes from the one lacking in empathy, compassion and Love. This is how to know if you and everyone else on Earth is following the Father of Jesus or is following the wolf in sheep’s clothing, claiming to be your heavenly “f”ather, when he is clearly not. Notice who it is that is stirring the pot of racism, greed at all costs, and hatred for others unlike themselves.

Know that anything that is not LOVE WITHOUT CONDITIONS comes from an unholy source.

I have also dealt with this subject in my new book, IN THEIR IMAGE AND LIKENESS, subtitled, UNIVERSAL WISDOM. Check out: https://LindaHourihan.com

Lent Meditation #1 2025

“Important information has been hidden from you. I will share what has been kept from you for unholy purposes under the dark veil of controlling agendas using threats to your immortal soul as the means to get you to toe the line of obedience to religious, political, and social slavery.

“I have also asked Jesus (Sananda), Enoch (Metatron), Elijah (Sandlephon), Raziel (leader of the Throne angels), Uriel (name means shining a Light on Truth), my personal guardian angel, and the Soul Knowledge of Kamala (the late Kamala (Renner) St. Germain, former owner of Dove Star Institute of Holistic Technology and one of my metaphysical teachers) to guide my understanding and writing.

“Jesus taught that each one of us has the Limitless Living Light of Christ within us, as Luke 17:20-21 clearly states. This book will delineate the difference between Jesus and the role of the Christ, which is the most misunderstood distinction between the two. Jesus was human. The Christ is not.

“All modern bibles are correcting the word “among” to “within” in Luke 17:20-21, as the Interlinear Bible in Hebrew Greek English agrees. Even older bibles add a footnote on the word “among” sending the reader to the bottom of the page where it explains that it means “within.” Jesus taught humanity that the Light of God, which is the Light of the Kingdom, is within each one of us. That is precisely the answer Jesus gave to the Pharisees who asked him when to expect the Kingdom of God to come.

This is the very reason why Jesus was crucified, because he taught that the Love (Christ) and the Light (Wisdom) of His Father, who is the Almighty Creator of All Creation was within Him AND within you and me. He dared to preach the truth. He equated Himself with God. THAT is why Jesus Christ is our Savior, to enlighten us to this fact. THAT is what He came to teach us. He never came to die a gory death on the cross for Original Sin, which is the sin of the fallen angels, not the sin of Eve, nor Adam, nor you and me. There is more to this revelation which I will share with you.

“We need to find the courage to resurrect the lost art of empathy, compassion, and genuine love in our current world situation and our everyday lives to be part of the acceleration of the Limitless Living Light transforming present realities into personal and planetary ascension. This Light works in and through humanity via our Light Source within our Adam Kadmon template, which I address in Chapter 5.

“The choice is ours to make. We are not victims of our own thoughts, words, and actions. It is possible to turn the tide of ignorance into knowledge, fear into integrity, and self-sabotage into healing. Every country in the world can benefit from ordinary care of other human beings as well as rejuvenating the entire Earth. …

“Raziel is the angel who presides over the high celestial angelic beings known as Thrones described in Chapter 4, who are at the service of the Order of Christ. Since this book reveals the Light of Christ within humanity, I call on the enlightenment of Raziel to guide the future of this book. Raziel is the chief angel leading the carriers of the Throne of God, in addition to guarding the secrets of the universe, according to The First Book of Enoch, which again, has no reference to the popular entertainment of present time. …

“Each chapter in this book will include quotes which I call the Library of Knowledge pertaining to the subject matter, and examples of life experience. This knowledge can help you in your ascension process in this lifetime. This is all about free will and how you wish to use your freedom. You are your own boss, no one else rules over you, no priest, minister, nor politician can rob you of your cash, property, thoughts, actions, nor your voice, unless you let them.

“You are alive by the Divine Breath of Mother/Father God, what I also call your God Particle, which you may know as your Energy, Soul/Spirit, “I Am” Presence, Higher Self, or any other understanding of the Eternal Universal Life Force Energy which animates you. Awareness of this same Light of Christ within you enlightens you to the reality of which Jesus taught.

“Eternal Universal Life Force Energy is part of the spiritual DNA of all human beings, since everyone is made up of body/mind, and Soul. It is not just within Jesus, nor only in the saints, not only in me and you, and not only in those who believe a certain way, but is in every living, breathing human being. It is the animating force of all human beings and all life. Jesus tried so hard to teach this to humanity and it ultimately became the reason he was crucified on the cross, that the Light and Life of Eternal Universal Life Force lives within him AND us.

“Jesus never said he came to die on the cross for us. He told us many things that I will explain in this book. We will look at his words, not just the popularized fifteen historical years of the words of Jesus, those famous twelve years of his youth, and his last three years. He lived and spoke for eighteen additional years before the crucifixion, as well as more years after his crucifixion. It is time to look at all that Jesus Christ told humanity, not only those words that agree with the different interpretations that have been placed upon his words.

“A Savior, a Messiah had been promised. The mass of humanity was not spiritually mature enough to grasp the new concept so far from their reality, that when Jesus spoke to them in Luke 17:21 that the Kingdom of God was within them, they had no idea what he was talking about, no matter how many parables he used.

“Yes, Jesus was crucified on the cross, just as the Old Testament foretold and the New Testament acknowledges. But the purpose of the arrival of Jesus on Earth was to show us how to live in true freedom. This is true for every single human being on the planet, not only for those who find themselves living in democratic and life-affirming countries and humane political systems. Every human being is born with a God-given Soul, or a Spark of Eternal Universal Life Force Energy for those scientific, medical, technical, and/or metaphysical minds among us.

“This book is a life lesson on how to stand up with peace, love, integrity, magnanimity, truth, honor, valor, gentleness, kindness, modesty, humility, patience, friendship, generosity, goodness, self-control, faithfulness, much joy, and the abundance of all good things. We learn harsh and valuable life lessons when we go against these Eternal Universal Life Force Energy principles played out in our mission, dharma, and karma as I explain in Chapter 10.

“Rather than accept the oppression of sin placed upon humanity by religious, political, and social orders, it is more healing to recognize that we learn life lessons by our faults and mistakes, as well as by our successes and achievements.

“We human beings learn life lessons for our own good, the good of our families, the good of society, and the good of the world. If there ever was a time for the rebirth of these noble traits in the history of humanity, the time is now. Otherwise, we will fare no better than many other cultures that were brought to the end of their once thriving civilizations. History has an energetic and magnetic habit of repeating itself. The very thing keeping us alive, in addition to our physical structures and systems, is the complete emotional and intellectual freedom exhibited by individual interpretations of the use of free will. This book takes a closer look at free will. The choice is yours in this poignant moment. You can get off the merry-go-round of dysfunction anytime you decide to do something more positive. It is all about recognizing that you are not a victim of your life any longer. You are where you are in your life by the very seeds that have been sown. If you do not like where you are, you can change it at any moment, starting with your thinking. …”

“A few years ago, when the holidays of Easter, Passover, and Ramadan coincided, my entire being was moved to write this. I just reread this article, and it feels like I am stretching my arms out far and wide and begging everyone to simply love – no matter what holiday is or isn’t part of our personal tradition. I give it to you again for your consideration. Thank you,” says Melody on this Easter day 2024.

“Here they are again.

“Easter and Passover coincided at the same time. I find myself viewing this calendar phenomenon with deeper meaning than just a merging of months and dates. Whatever we believe or don’t believe—however we define God individually—if we resurrect love and peace, free ourselves and each other from critical judgments, and see one another through the eyes of inclusion, these two unique holidays have the potential to become the highest version of religion.

“Religion, love, kindness, respect, inclusion, and peace. Imagine. What a glorious combination.

“Two holidays celebrated at the same time give us the opportunity to immerse ourselves in a mega-dose of love. It doesn’t serve our world to live in judgment or to think one religion is right and the other is wrong. If your life compass leads to love, everything in the world is right.

“There is no room on our precious planet for negative vibrations that exclude, mock, shun, or punish anyone who doesn’t believe as we do.

“Although my roots are Jewish, I am ecumenical in my belief system and embrace all my global brothers and sisters with a heart of love. I don’t attend a house of worship or strictly follow holidays and rituals, but I have always been deeply spiritual. Every choice I make personally and professionally is embodied by the knowledge that I have been given many gifts at birth. Giving back through an open and compassionate mind and heart is my way of saying thank you to a life source that feels bigger than me.

“Although I may or may not celebrate Passover formally this year, I know how to sing the songs that surround this holiday and I hold dear their higher meaning. There is one song that stands out to me the most:

Dayenu.” Translated from Hebrew, it means, “It would have been enough.”

“As family and friends read the Passover story and recall all the violent challenges their ancestors endured to obtain religious freedom, each verse ends with a resounding, Dayenu. Just one obstacle, one plague, one act of violence would have been more than enough. This plea in the form of a catchy tune is crying for humanity that mirrors love and not hate. It was echoed centuries ago, and it is a cry in my heart now.

“If I wrote a modern-day version of “Dayenu,” it would go like this:

One war is too many wars. Dayenu. War is never the answer.

When democracy is threatened in any way, it is too much. Dayenu.

If people aren’t free to live in peace regardless of the color of their skin, gender, philosophy, religion, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, or economic status, Dayenu. Let people be.

“If children are shot in their school, Dayenu. Stop. Now.

If people are murdered, wounded, and abused, Dayenu.

If there aren’t enough resources for everyone in the world and people are poor and starving, Dayenu.

Dayenu to the bullying, bias, prejudice, stereotyping, and violence.

“Let’s sing, say, think, act, feel, and react with high vibrations of Peace, Shalom (Hebrew), Salaam (Arabic), Paz (Brazilian and European Spanish), Mir (Russian, Croatian and Czech), Vrede (Dutch), Amani (African), Bisaniwewin (Native American Otchipwe language), and Heiwa (Japanese).

“Please add your language and ancestral culture to this list and continue to live the vibration of peace and love even more consciously today than yesterday. If anyone threatens the shining possibility of hope, please join me in shouting Dayenu. During a time of two major holidays that coincide, let’s merge minds and hearts and realize with increased awareness that, in the end, we’re all the same. We all bleed, laugh, mourn, and cry in the same way.

“When a stranger saves us from a burning car, we don’t stop that person to ask about their religion, philosophy, or economic status, and we don’t care one breath of judgment about the color of their skin. We just want to be saved by our earth angel, and even if we were the most prejudiced person in the world, our once-closed hearts open to eternal gratefulness for our new savior and friend.

If we believe in God, and however we believe—G-d, God, Om, Jesus, Allah, Krishna, Siddha, Akai Purakh, All-Powerful, Bhagavan, Adonai, Elohim, Jehovah, HaShem, Holy Father, The Christ, The Savior, The Messiah, The Son of God, Holy Ghost, Holy Spirit—let’s embody one truism. We are all children of the universe.

“As one of my books, “Peace Dreamer: A Journey of Hope in Bad Times and Good” says:

If we make a choice to embody the spirit of loving consciousness, we will be able to shift our hearts from fear to love and honor the most authentic definition of ‘peace begins with me.’ The only way we can surround the planet with an inclusive vibration of peace is if we surround the planet with an inclusive vibration of love.

“Whether you celebrate Easter, Passover, Ramadan, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Chinese New Year, Diwali, or no holidays or religions at all, let’s resurrect and free the highest form of love within ourselves, toward each other, and to everyone on our one precious planet.

Here is Dayenu by the Maccabeats, on Your Tube:

Thank you Melody for you and to all people in the world who promote Love and Light to All. All is One!

The Real Story of Jesus

“I came to teach a misguided world to love without conditions, to forgive without exception, to heal what was broken, and to build up peace and freedom for all. That generation of people could not understand how heal themselves or the world at that time. I’ll try again now and hope you listen and comprehend my words.” Jesus the Christ

Jesus eats bread, fish and honey, and explains the Sacred Scriptures AFTER he survived the crucifixion. Spirits and Souls do not eat food.

I invite all readers to consider the following information in the love for humanity with which it is written. Notice when you read something past the indoctrination of belief you were either born into or chose to accept as an adult, there can be the tendency to flare up into a fit of supposedly righteous indignation. It can seem as if others were ignorant of what you know or what you choose to believe as if you were taught everything there is to know on the subject.

Unless you know what Jesus said and taught from his ages 12-30, you have not been told everything that Jesus said and did during that time. Most of humanity boasts of the first 12 years of Jesus childhood and his 3 years of preaching, for a total of 15 years. Jesus preached to the Hebrew people and all who would listen to him. The religious and political powers of his day did not want to hear things other than what they had been indoctrinated into either. There is more for you to know.

Please read the following with patience and humility, understanding that you will possibly read some of the life of Jesus that has not been taught to you. The 18 years of the life of Jesus Christ, from his ages 12-30 are not apocryphal. They are critical for your continued emotional, mental and spiritual development.

Do not fall for popular gimmicks of any bible that does not contain the life of Jesus from his ages 12-30. There is an agenda to keep in dumbing down the sheep-like followers, which is never smart.

At this poignant time in humanly contrived convenient history, know that Jesus Christ survived the crucifixion, despite what the heavily indoctrinated religions throughout the ages have professed. They do not know what they have not allowed themselves to know. They have blocked out the adult years of the very person about whom they say is their foundation. It turns out their foundation is an illusionary rock made of sand. Jesus taught a lot more important information than most religious teachers teach.

Do you want to know what else the adult Jesus said?

The following is from my latest book, IN THEIR IMAGE AND LIKENESS, subtitled, UNIVERSAL WISDOM, published by Blue Fortune Enterprises LLC. https://blue-fortune.com/aster-press

He is the Savior because he saved us all from humanly contrived and manipulated concepts hidden from us since the time of the fallen angels raping women, thereby begetting their Nephilim children, whose Souls never die, nor can they return to Eternal Universal Life Force Energy.

“Can you guess where they still are?

“While all bibles tell of this human history in Genesis 6, somehow the raping of women became the Original Sin conveniently attributed to Eve by the myth of her not obeying what God told Adam. More in-depth details in this book show beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Original Sin is that of the fallen angels, so conveniently placed upon a single woman, and erroneously transmitted to all unsuspecting and gullible people.

“Today’s bibles are so heavily redacted; it is no wonder that humanity has a skewed view of accurate bible history. It is as if you were the jury in an important trial attempting to make a judgment after only being given transcripts with the most important information blacked out. …

“The flood wiped out the physical bodies of the fallen angels and their Nephilim children, but their Spirits still walk among us today when we welcome them in through our conscious decisions to lie, cheat, steal, murder, and kill. We also have the ability not to go along with their sinister suggestions. We can choose good over evil, or evil over good any time we want to. That is what free will is about.

“Egotistical and haughty Spirts of the Nephilim can still work through human beings who go along with unholy agendas, when allowed by weak human minds to agree with unprincipled, unconscionable, and horrific concepts and realities we see playing out on the world’s stage even today. This is explained in greater detail in Chapter 5.

“This book is entitled IN THEIR IMAGE AND LIKENESS because that is exactly how we were created since the beginning of human beings on Earth, with tendencies to both good and evil. There is a reason this is mentioned in today’s bibles in the very first book.

“Why do you think there are two Creation stories, the first of which says, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness…” Genesis 1:26?

“This information was well-known throughout pre- and ancient history until the fourth century, before men, not God, hid this knowledge from us. I will share the writings that demonstrate this information.

“I encourage you to keep reading, especially if this goes against your current belief system. Knowledge is power. It is too easy to ridicule that which we have not only not read, but also not researched. There is more to this than first reaches the otherwise educated mind. …”

Did you know, for example, that all the foods given to Jesus AFTER the crucifixion when Thomas got to touch the wounds in Jesus’ hands, had extremely healing properties? …

“Consider Luke 24:39 and Luke 24:42, 43. Here Jesus is showing his wounds from the nails in his hands, and how they recognize him as he eats broiled fish and a piece of honeycomb with them after the crucifixion. He is with them physically, literally, not as a spiritual illusion or other manifestation. …

“Notice what Jesus ate after the crucifixion,[1] “When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet. But while they still did not believe for joy, and marveled, he said to them, “Have you any food here?” So, they gave him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb. And he took it and ate in their presence.” Luke 24:40-43

“Spirits do not eat food.

“I do not believe this was a mistake, nor matter of chance that the food Jesus was given held immense healing benefits for his recovery from crucifixion. Other people previously survived crucifixion.

“I have always used food as medicine, just as I, my mother, and grandmother did throughout our lives. First, I investigated the medicinal benefits of honey.[2]

“Honey has high levels of monosaccharides, fructose, and glucose. It has antiseptic and antibacterial properties often used in chronic wound management and combatting infection. Honey promotes wound healing, heart health, and healthy blood sugar levels. All of these would benefit Jesus’ wounds after the crucifixion.

“There are many references to the history of honey dating back to 2100 BCE[3] and several are mentioned in the Old Testament and New Testament:

“Proverbs 16:24, “Pleasant words are as a honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.” King James Version

“1 Samuel 14:24-30, “Now the Israelites were in distress that day, because Saul had bound the people under an oath, saying, “Cursed be anyone who eats food before evening comes, before I have avenged myself on my enemies!” So none of the troops tasted food. The entire army entered the woods, and there was honey on the ground. When they went into the woods, they saw the honey oozing out; yet no one put his hand to his mouth, because they feared the oath. But Jonathan had not heard that his father had bound the people with the oath, so he reached out the end of the staff that was in his hand and dipped it into the honeycomb. He raised his hand to his mouth, and his eyes brightened. Then one of the soldiers told him, “Your father bound the army under a strict oath, saying, ‘Cursed be anyone who eats food today!’ That is why the men are faint.” Jonathan said, “My father has made trouble for the country. See how my eyes brightened when I tasted a little of this honey. How much better it would have been if the men had eaten today some of the plunder they took from their enemies. Would not the slaughter of the Philistines have been even greater?”

“Deuteronomy 32:13, “He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock;”

“2 Samuel 17:27-29, “When David came to Mahanaim, Shobi son of Nahash from Rabbah of the Ammonites, and Makir son of Ammiel from Lo Debar, and Barzillai the Gileadite from Rogelim brought bedding and bowls and articles of pottery. They also brought wheat and barley, flour and roasted grain, beans and lentils, honey and curds, sheep, and cheese from cows’ milk for David and his people to eat. For they said, “The people have become exhausted and hungry and thirsty in the wilderness.”

“Psalm 81:16, “But you would be fed with the finest of wheat; with honey from the rock I would satisfy you.”

“Ezekiel 16:13, “So you were adorned with gold and silver; your clothes were of fine linen and costly fabric and embroidered cloth. Your food was honey, olive oil and the finest flour. You became very beautiful and rose to be a queen.”

“Matthew 3:4; and Mark 1;6, “John’s clothes were made of camel’s hair, and he had a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey.”

“There are eleven evidence-based health benefit of eating fish:[4]

  1. High in important nutrients
  2. May lower your risk of heart attacks and strokes due to Omega fatty 3 acids
  3. Contain nutrients that are crucial during development
  4. May boost brain health
  5. May help prevent and treat depression
  6. A good dietary sources of vitamin D – functions like a steroid
  7. May reduce your risk of autoimmune diseases
  8. May help prevent asthma in children
  9. May protect your vision in old age
  10. May improve sleep quality
  11. Delicious and easy to prepare

“Fish also has Vitamin B12, crucial for the growth of healthy red blood cells which Jesus needed to recover from his near-death experience.

“It is also important to note that the gifts of Frankincense, Myrrh, and Gold presented to Jesus by the Magi, was a foreshadowing of his path. Frankincense is an antiseptic aiding digestion, coughs, and cold. Myrrh is an antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, helping to repair the immune system and reduce fevers. Both Frankincense and Myrrh would be beneficial for healing after a crucifixion. Gold has always been a treasured mineral which would have been necessary for the purchase of travel and goods on his travels to the east post-crucifixion.

“The Hyssop stalk soaked in wine was what Jesus had put to his lips when he said, “I am thirsty,” recorded in John 18:9:28. Hyssop is a holy herb that was used to sprinkled on lepers. It is commonly used in tea for coughs, decongestant, shortness of breath. It is also used to treat bruises, cuts, and wounds.

“Might it have been for purposes of compassion rather than merely mockingly giving Jesus a bitter drink at such a distressful time on the cross?”

This is a huge subject, how Jesus the Christ survived the crucifixion. I know, this can pull the proverbial religious rug out from under your indoctrinated mind.

Unless you have no knowledge or opinion of Jesus and the crucifixion, please know that you are indoctrinated, usually under man-made threats to your God-given Soul. You are a Spark of Eternal Universal Life Force Energy. You exist beyond your physical body.

I am a bridge from indoctrination of oppression to freedom to be, think, and do as you are incarnated to be. Your Spirit and Soul were never meant to be under any group think tank agenda, religious, political, social, or otherwise. Your Soul is God-given. Your Spirit/Soul is birthed by your Silver Cord of Life spoken about in Ecclesiastes 12:6-7.

Unless the people you may place yourself under have studied all the life of Jesus the Christ, not just his famous 15 years in the New Testament, you only know a fragment of what Jesus said and did.

METAPHYSICAL ANATOMY ~ Your Complete Energy System

The perfect Savior said, ‘The Child, the Son of Humanity, came together with his companion Sophia and disclosed a bright androgynous light. The male name of the light is Savior, the one who conceives all, and the female name is all-conceiving Sophia. Some call her Pistis, Faith. All who come into the world, like a droplet from the light, are sent by him into the world of the ruler of the universe, to be guarded by him. The fetter of his forgetfulness has kept the light bound, by the will of Sophia, so that the reality of the circumstance might be [revealed] through the light to the whole impoverished world, on account of the arrogance and blindness of the ruler of the universe and the name of ignorance he was given.’” The Wisdom of Jesus Christ, The Savior, Pistis Sophia, And Other Powers Appear, 106,9-107

***

Now is the time to unbind the Light WITHIN you. This Light is an intricate and vital part of your entire being, more vital than every beat of your heart. It does not come from outside of you, from some human guru or popular think tank. The Light animates your human existence. You are the Light in your corner of the world, in yourself, and in your home, work, school, committee, government, entertainment, social circle, and every other place you find yourself. There is no limit to you and the gift that you are to humanity. You are a droplet of Eternal Universal Life Force Energy, right where you are. You radiate, just like your contactless credit card holding valuable personal information about you, which can be read by any other person walking by you with a device able to read and steal your information.

Dare I delve deep into the writings of James Churchward,[1] a British occult, writer, inventor, and engineer, who researched two sets of ancient tablets, the Naacal tablets which he discovered in India many years ago, and a large collection of recently discovered stone tablets well over two thousand, five hundred years old recently found in Mexico. He discovered both sets of stone tablets originated from the Sacred Inspired Writings of Mu (Lemuria).

According to The Lost Continent of Mu, Churchward, who spent more than fifty years investigating these findings, the Naacal tablets left Burma more than fifteen thousand years ago. The writings on both sets of ancient stone tablets are indicative of the alphabet of Mu.

Churchward’s discoveries point to the Alpha of Creation, the Garden of Eden, not in Asia, but on the lost continent of Mu. He also noted that the people of Mu grew to over sixty-four million inhabitants who appear to have had a more superior civilization some fifty thousand years ago. His research included written documents, prehistoric ruins, and geological phenomena from which he credits all other civilizations to have drawn greater concepts of life.

“Had the atheist given as careful study to forces as he did to elements, constantly working back and back, following one force to another, eventually he would have come to the origin of movement. It would then have been disclosed to him that he himself contained a force other than physical, and that that force was a living soul. With this knowledge he would realize what he is: not the poor brute beast he is trying to make himself out to be, but one who has within himself an actual part of the Supreme, and is a son of God – just as the leaf is part of the tree itself,” said Churchward.

“It is preordained that all chemical elementary compounds must eventually decompose, separate, return to original form, and go back whence they came. The elements having released the soul from its bondage, the soul – being governed by the same Divine Law as the elements – must also return whence it came. Coming from “The Great Source” the glorious triumphant end of man’s soul be – its return to God,” wrote Churchward at the conclusion of this book.

You are aware of the obvious physical part of you. Now tap into your etheric, emotional, mental, astral, causal, etheric template, celestial self.

Do you know what that is?

Your Soul Being, your animation, does not end with the outer layer of your skin. You might understand this better if you do not associate your Soul Being with something that is divine, requiring faith, which you may or may not have. You may be able to comprehend this intangible part of you better if you realize the Universal Laws of Nature, the Laws of Thermodynamics, which state that Energy cannot be created, nor destroyed, only changed. You are the energetic charge, a Spark of this same Eternal Universal Life Force Energy.

Your Eternal Universal Life Force Energy extends far beyond you. You can influence others and others can influence you. Specifically, there are seven major expansive layers beyond your 3-D (third dimensional) physical self, which are invisible to the naked eye. These layers are also part of your electromagnetic DNA energy which does not end at the level of your skin. It extends out into your aura, the pulse of the Soul, your Spark of the I AM Presence. There are no barriers within these layers from one part of you to another part of you. You are born fully integrated. Babies may not have adult language to express their mind, body, spirit discomfort, but you will know the moment one of these aspects of their selves is out of whack.

These unseen Eternal Universal Life Force Energies penetrate and enliven the physical body, mind, and spirit, creating connections, including thoughts, words, and actions. This allows you to know and understand concepts and information you may have not learned in this lifetime. You have many dimensions to yourself. These dimensions are affected by how you think. Human belief systems can clog otherwise healthy energy flows, stifling and closing them completely, causing physical maladies if not cleansed in some cases, requiring an energy session with a competent energy worker to get back into homeostasis.

The Virtue of Virtues ~ Psalm 85 Prayer with Origen ~ A Meditation and History Lesson

Since the time I mailed out copies of my book, The Virtue of Virtues, to Catholic parishes

1 Origen
Origen Teaching

within the USA, as well as to numerous home schools and Catholic schools for students in grades five through eight, COVID-19 making its sick and deadly appearance has necessarily taken first precedence in the minds, hearts and actions of all of us worldwide. I am here at home, obeying the strict guidelines for public and my safety as I hope you all are. To help us all pass this time in a more meaningful way, I am sharing a meditation on Psalm 85, with a responsorial with the words of Origen, one of the most prolific and inspirational writers ever to grace the written word.

Notice the many God-given virtues mentioned in Psalm 85. This meditation you all might enjoy either by yourself or with your family while you also are home bound. Following the meditation, I am including the history of Origen, in case you are unfamiliar with him. The history I have chosen to use is from Wikipedia, so that it can be easily referred to from your own website connections. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Origen

Responsorial after each dash:

God blessed the land when our Savior came to earth. (Origen).

PSALM 85

“O Lord, you once favored your land
and revived the fortunes of Jacob,
you forgave the guilt of your people
and covered all their sins.
You averted all your rage,
you calmed the heart of your anger. –

God blessed the land when our Savior came to earth.

“Revive us now, God, our helper!
Put an end to your grievance against us.
Will you be angry with us for ever,
will your anger never cease? –

God blessed the land when our Savior came to earth.

Will you not restore again our life
that your people may rejoice in you?
Let us see, O Lord, your mercy
and give us your saving help. –

God blessed the land when our Savior came to earth.

I will hear what the Lord has to say,
a voice that speaks of peace,
peace for his people and his friends
and those who turn to him in their hearts.
His help is near to those who fear him
and his glory will dwell in our land. –

God blessed the land when our Savior came to earth.

Mercy and faithfulness have met;
justice and peace have embraced.
Faithfulness shall spring from the earth
and justice shall look down from heaven. –

God blessed the land when our Savior came from heaven.

The Lord will make us prosper
and our earth shall yield its fruit.
Justice shall march before him
and peace shall follow his steps. –

God blessed the land when our Savior came from heaven.

As part of personal or family considerations, discuss or meditate on:

1. each of the virtues you discover in Psalm 85 and how they can be applied to your life (lives)
2. God’s promises to his faithful followers
3. what does it mean to be a faithful follower of the Savior
4. the mercy of God
5. the love of the Savior
6. why God’s justice is just
7. the peace promised us in this Psalm
8. are there any changes I (we) can make to share more peace in my life
9. are there any changes I (we) can make to share more mercy in my life
10. how I (we) can be more faithful to our Savior and to God

ORIGEN

“Origen of Alexandria (c. 184 – c. 253), also known as Origen Adamantius, was an early Christian scholar, ascetic, and theologian who was born and spent the first half of his career in Alexandria. He was a prolific writer who wrote roughly 2,000 treatises in multiple branches of theology, including textual criticism, biblical exegesis and biblical hermeneutics, homiletics, and spirituality. He was one of the most influential figures in early Christian theology, apologetics, and asceticism. He has been described as “the greatest genius the early church ever produced”.

“Origen sought martyrdom with his father at a young age, but was prevented from turning himself in to the authorities by his mother. When he was eighteen years old, Origen became a catechist at the Catechetical School of Alexandria. He devoted himself to his studies and adopted an ascetic lifestyle as both a vegetarian and teetotaler. He came into conflict with Demetrius, the bishop of Alexandria, in 231 after he was ordained as a presbyter by his friend, the bishop of Caesarea, while on a journey to Athens through Palestine. Demetrius condemned Origen for insubordination and accused him of having castrated himself and of having taught that even Satan would eventually attain salvation, an accusation which Origen himself vehemently denied. Origen founded the Christian School of Caesarea, where he taught logic, cosmology, natural history, and theology, and became regarded by the churches of Palestine and Arabia as the ultimate authority on all matters of theology. He was tortured for his faith during the Decian persecution in 250 and died three to four years later from his injuries.

“Origen was able to produce a massive quantity of writings due to the patronage of his close friend Ambrose, who provided him with a team of secretaries to copy his works, making him one of the most prolific writers in all of antiquity. His treatise On the First Principles systematically laid out the principles of Christian theology and became the foundation for later theological writings. He also authored Contra Celsum, the most influential work of early Christian apologetics, in which he defended Christianity against the pagan philosopher Celsus, one of its foremost early critics. Origen produced the Hexapla, the first critical edition of the Hebrew Bible, which contained the original Hebrew text as well as five different Greek translations of it, all written in columns, side-by-side. He wrote hundreds of homilies covering almost the entire Bible, interpreting many passages as allegorical. Origen taught that, before the creation of the material universe, God had created the souls of all the intelligent beings. These souls, at first fully devoted to God, fell away from him and were given physical bodies. Origen was the first to propose the ransom theory of atonement in its fully developed form and, though he was probably a Subordinationist, he also significantly contributed to the development of the concept of the Trinity. Origen hoped that all people might eventually attain salvation, but was always careful to maintain that this was only speculation. He defended free will and advocated Christian pacifism.

“Origen is a Church Father and is widely regarded as one of the most important Christian theologians of all time. His teachings were especially influential in the east, with Athanasius of Alexandria and the three Cappadocian Fathers being among his most devoted followers. Argument over the orthodoxy of Origen’s teachings spawned the First Origenist Crisis in the late fourth century AD, in which he was attacked by Epiphanius of Salamis and Jerome, but defended by Tyrannius Rufinus and John of Jerusalem. In 543, the emperor Justinian I condemned him as a heretic and ordered all his writings to be burned. The Second Council of Constantinople in 553 may have anathemized Origen, or it may have only condemned certain heretical teachings which claimed to be derived from Origen. His teachings on the pre-existence of souls were rejected by the Church.

“Origen was born in either 185 or 186 AD in Alexandria. According to Eusebius, Origen’s father was Leonides of Alexandria, a respected professor of literature and also a devout Christian who practiced his religion openly. Joseph Wilson Trigg deems the details of this report unreliable, but states that Origen’s father was certainly “a prosperous and thoroughly Hellenized bourgeois.” According to John Anthony McGuckin*, Origen’s mother, whose name is unknown, may have been a member of the lower class who did not have the right of citizenship. It is likely that, on account of his mother’s status, Origen himself was not a Roman citizen. Origen’s father taught him about literature and philosophy and also about the Bible and Christian doctrine. Eusebius states that Origen’s father made him memorize passages of scripture daily. Trigg accepts this tradition as possibly genuine, given Origen’s ability as an adult to recite extended passages of scripture at will. Eusebius also reports that Origen became so learned about the holy scriptures at an early age that his father was unable to answer his questions.

  • John Anthony McGuckin, born June 21, 1952 in Wallsend, UK, studied at Durham University, University of London and Heythrop College. Some of his edited works include The Encyclopedia of Eastern Orthodox Christianity and much more.

“In 202, when Origen was “not yet seventeen”, the Roman emperor Septimius Severus ordered Roman citizens who openly practiced Christianity to be executed. Origen’s father Leonides was arrested and thrown in prison. Eusebius reports that Origen wanted to turn himself in to the authorities so they would execute him as well, but his mother hid all his clothes and he was unable to go to the authorities since he refused to leave the house naked. According to McGuckin, even if Origen had turned himself in, it is unlikely that he would have been punished, since the emperor was only intent on executing Roman citizens. Origen’s father was beheaded and the state confiscated the family’s entire property, leaving them broken and impoverished. Origen was the eldest of nine children and, as his father’s heir, it became his responsibility to provide for the whole family.

“When he was eighteen years old, Origen was appointed as a catechist at the Catechetical School of Alexandria. Many scholars have assumed that Origen became the head of the school, but, according to McGuckin, this is highly improbable and it is more likely that he was simply given a paid teaching position, perhaps as a “relief effort” for his destitute family. While employed at the school, he adopted the ascetic lifestyle of the Greek Sophists. He spent the whole day teaching and would stay up late at night writing treatises and commentaries. He went barefoot and only owned one cloak. He was a teetotaler and a vegetarian and he often fasted for long periods of time. Although Eusebius goes to great lengths to portray Origen as one of the Christian monastics of his own era, this portrayal is now generally recognized as anachronistic.

“Sometime when he was in his early twenties, Origen sold the small library of Greek literary works which he had inherited from his father for a sum which netted him a daily income of four obols. He used this money to continue his study of the Bible and philosophy. Origen studied at numerous schools throughout Alexandria, including the Platonic Academy of Alexandria, where he was a student of Ammonius Saccas. Eusebius claims that Origen studied under Clement of Alexandria (c. 150 – c. 215, but, according to McGuckin, this is almost certainly a retrospective assumption based on the similarity of their teachings. Origen himself rarely mentions Clement in his own writings and, when he does, it is usually to correct him.

“Origen repeatedly asked Demetrius to ordain him as a priest, but Demetrius continually refused. In around 231, Demetrius sent Origen on a mission to Athens. Along the way, Origen stopped in Caesarea, where he was warmly greeted by the bishops Theoctistus and Alexander of Jerusalem, who had become his close friends during his previous stay. While he was visiting Caesarea, Origen asked Theoctistus to ordain him as a priest. Theoctistus gladly complied. Upon learning of Origen’s ordination, Demetrius was outraged and issued a condemnation declaring that Origen’s ordination by a foreign bishop was an act of insubordination.

“Demetrius raised a storm of protests against the bishops of Palestine and the church synod in Rome itself. According to Eusebius, Demetrius published the allegation that Origen had secretly castrated himself, a capital offense under Roman law at the time and one which would have made Origen’s ordination invalid, since eunuchs were forbidden from becoming priests. Demetrius also alleged that Origen had taught an extreme form of apokatastasis, which held that all beings, including even Satan himself, would eventually attain salvation. This allegation probably arose from a misunderstanding of Origen’s argument during a debate with the Valentinian Gnostic teacher Candidus. Candidus had argued in favor of predestination by declaring that the Devil was beyond salvation. Origen had responded by arguing that, if the Devil is destined for eternal damnation, it was on account of his actions, which were the result of his own free will. Therefore, Origen had declared that Satan was only morally reprobate, not absolutely reprobate.

“Demetrius died in 232, within less than a year after Origen’s departure from Alexandria. The accusations against Origen faded with the death of Demetrius, but they did not disappear entirely and they continued to haunt him for the rest of his career. Origen defended himself in his Letter to Friends in Alexandria, in which he vehemently denied that he had ever taught that the Devil would attain salvation and insisted that the very notion of the Devil attaining salvation was simply ludicrous.

“WORK AND TEACHING IN CAESAREA

“During his early years in Caesarea, Origen’s primary task was the establishment of a Christian School; Caesarea had long been seen as a center of learning for Jews and Hellenistic philosophers, but, until Origen’s arrival, it had lacked a Christian center of higher education. According to Eusebius, the school Origen founded was primarily targeted towards young pagans who had expressed interest in Christianity, but were not yet ready to ask for baptism. The school therefore sought to explain Christian teachings through Middle Platonism. Origen started his curriculum by teaching his students classical Socratic reasoning. After they had mastered this, he taught them cosmology and natural history. Finally, once they had mastered all of these subjects, he taught them theology, which was the highest of all philosophies, the accumulation of everything they had learning previously.

“With the establishment of the Caesarean school, Origen’s reputation as a scholar and theologian reached its zenith and he became known throughout the Mediterranean world as a brilliant intellectual. The hierarchs of the Palestinian and Arabian church synods regarded Origen as the ultimate expert on all matters dealing with theology. While teaching in Caesarea, Origen resumed work on his Commentary on John, composing at least books six through ten. In the first of these books, Origen compares himself to “an Israelite who has escaped the perverse persecution of the Egyptians.” Origen also wrote the treatise On Prayer at the request of his friend Ambrose and his “sister” Tatiana, in which he analyzes the different types of prayers described in the Bible and offers a detailed exegesis on the Lord’s Prayer.

“AGAINST CELSUS

“Against Celsus, preserved entirely in Greek, was Origen’s last treatise, written about 248. It is an apologetic work defending orthodox Christianity against the attacks of the pagan philosopher Celsus, who was seen in the ancient world as early Christianity’s foremost opponent. In 178, Celsus had written a polemic entitled On the True Word, in which he had made numerous arguments against Christianity. The church had responded by ignoring Celsus’s attacks, but Origen’s patron Ambrose brought the matter to his attention. Origen initially wanted to ignore Celsus and let his attacks fade, but one of Celsus’s major claims, which held that no self-respecting philosopher of the Platonic tradition would ever be so stupid as to become a Christian, provoked him to write a rebuttal.

“In the book, Origen systematically refutes each of Celsus’s arguments point-by-point and argues for a rational basis of Christian faith. Origen draws heavily on the teachings of Plato and argues that Christianity and Greek philosophy are not incompatible, and that philosophy contains much that is true and admirable, but that the Bible contains far greater wisdom than anything Greek philosophers could ever grasp. Origen responds to Celsus’s accusation that Jesus had performed his miracles using magic rather than divine powers by asserting that, unlike magicians, Jesus had not performed his miracles for show, but rather to reform his audiences. Contra Celsum became the most influential of all early Christian apologetics works; before it was written, Christianity was seen by many as merely a folk religion for the illiterate and uneducated, but Origen raised it to a level of academic respectability. Eusebius admired Against Celsus so much that, in his Against Hierocles I, he declared that Against Celsus provided an adequate rebuttal to all criticisms the church would ever face.

“AFTER THE ANATHAMAS

“The most prominent advocate of Origen during the Renaissance was the Dutch humanist scholar Desiderius Erasmus (1466 – 1536), who regarded Origen as the greatest of all Christian authors and wrote in a letter to John Eck that he learned more about Christian philosophy from a single page of Origen than from ten pages of Augustine. Erasmus especially admired Origen for his lack of rhetorical flourishes, which were so common in the writings of other Patristic authors. Erasmus also borrowed heavily from Origen’s defense of free will in On First Principles in his 1524 treatise On Free Will, now considered his most important theological work. In 1527, Erasmus translated and published the portion of Origen’s Commentary on the Gospel of Matthew that survived only in Greek and, in 1536, he published the most complete edition of Origen’s writings that had ever been published at that time. While Origen’s emphasis on the human effort in attaining salvation appealed to the Renaissance humanists, it made him far less appealing to the proponents of the Reformation. Martin Luther (1483–1546) deplored Origen’s understanding of salvation as irredeemably defective and declared “in all of Origen there is not one word about Christ.” Consequently, he ordered for Origen’s writings to be banned. Nonetheless, the earlier Czech reformer Jan Hus (c. 1369–1415) had taken inspiration from Origen for his view that the church is a spiritual reality rather than an official hierarchy and Luther’s contemporary, the Swiss reformer Huldrych Zwingli (1484–1531), took inspiration from Origen for his interpretation of the eucharist as symbolic.”

Is Your Life Balanced?

How balanced is your life? Are you balanced between home, work, school, relationships and everything else? What are the signs to watch out for that you are out of balance? How do we get back into balance in our minds, bodies and spirits?

Picture a seesaw with one side up, the other side down and the fulcrum, that balance point between the two in the

Lever with globe of Earth and small ball. simple machines by Archimedes. lever is a machine consisting of a beam or rigid rod pivoted at a fixed hinge or fulcrum.

middle. Jesus Christ is the fulcrum of all of our lives. We choose whether to live with Him in our lives, or without Him; or with or without God His Father in our lives. The same goes for the Holy Spirit, the love of the Father and Son. We choose each day whether or not to include this Love on our lives. Without God in our lives, we are out of balance. We can remedy this situation.

We go out of balance each and every time God the Father, Jesus His Son, and Love of the Holy Spirit is not at the center of our lives. If we say we do not believe in God, or think there is no God, or God did not send Jesus to be our Lord and Savior, or think of Jesus as just another ascended master, we are ignorant of the reality that God in fact did just that.

Jesus Christ, Son of God Almighty, is the balance point in all of our lives, our true fulcrum. Each of us decides when enough is enough in our day-to-day living by the use of our God-given free will. The determining factor of who we are, what we believe, and what we will allow into our lives is all up to us in this life. But there is an unnecessary problem we create for ourselves when we exclude Jesus Christ, who came to earth to show us how to live in this world, presently ruined and ruled by Satan.

Think of this for a moment. After His baptism, Jesus was led out into the desert wilderness by the Holy Spirit to be tempted there by Satan. For forty days and nights Jesus fasted. Then Satan tempted Him to get food by changing stones into loaves of bread.

Jesus answers, “No! For the Scriptures tell us that bread won’t feed men’s souls; obedience to the word of God is what we need.”

Then Satan took Jesus to Jerusalem to the roof of the Temple, and said, “Jump off and prove you are the Son of God …”

Jesus responds, “It also says not to put God to a foolish test.”

Lastly, Satan took Jesus to the peak of a very high mountain, and showed Him all the nations of the world and all their glory, and said to Him, “I’ll give it all to you, if you will only kneel and worship me.”

How could this last test of Jesus been a real temptation if Satan were not the real ruler of this world?

Would the temptation of Jesus in the desert after His baptism really have been a temptation if Satan were not the present ruler of this world? (Remember Satan and one-third of the angels in heaven were cast out of heaven and sent to earth. These are the fallen angels of old still with us today.) Jesus goes into the desert where Satan tempts Him that if Jesus would bow down before him, Satan would give him all the kingdoms of the earth.

Ironically, God the Father gifted Jesus His Son , to be king of the kingdom to come, after the demise and judgment of this world. The Father promises us a new heaven and a new earth in the Book of Revelation, with Jesus Christ as judge and king. Jesus is already sitting at the right hand of God. Every day we can choose to be included in this new kingdom to come by how we live each day of our lives right now. Presently we still have time to use our God-given free will to choose virtue over sin, or good over bad.

Jesus Christ, Son of God, remained faithful amid great temptations. How hungry are you and I after only missing a meal or a day or two of no food? Jesus fasted for forty days and forty nights. He was most certainly at the point of starving, and still chose to do God’s will, not his own.

We get that same choice to make each and every day. Who’s will do we follow?

Sometimes we act as though we are not in charge of ourselves, or our government or situations like global warming or world peace. But everything we think, do and say show us if we are in, or out of balance, and what principles are important to us.

All of us in every country in the world, are at a tipping point of more people choosing bad over good, evil over good, or sin over virtue, not only in our own lives, but in the world at large. We can change this if we want to, but nothing will change unless we consciously decide to choose more good over bad, good over evil, or virtue over sin.

If money is the bottom line, as most people say these days as to what they determine to be the most important reason for decisions made, then humanity is doomed to fail, cities and states are doomed to fail, and the ecological health of the world will fail. In all cases, we can have all the money in the world and die of a disease; Flint, Michigan can have the biggest bank account to save money but unless money is spent to fix drinkable water there, the drinking water will remain toxic; and the world’s economy matters little when global warming is completed and the earth is no more.

There are many factors that affect our decisions, like greed, envy, sloth (laziness), lust, wrath (anger), gluttony and pride. We know these seven pitfalls as the seven deadly sins because they hurt us individually as well as collectively. Each of these negative, bad traits, which are sin, has a positive or good remedy, which is virtue.

Rather than be motivated by greed, we can think, speak and act generously. Perhaps money is not the bottom line after all.

Instead of envy we can practice genuine love.

To improve on sloth (laziness) we can take vitamins and invigorate our dreams, renew our goals, and begin yet again.

To combat the addiction to lust we can welcome purity and modesty in our thoughts, words and actions.

Addressing wrath and uncontrolled anger, a bad habit and often an addiction, requires taking a few deep breaths and allowing understanding, listening to others, improving communication and peaceful solutions to be possible. We may feel justified in our wrathful, renegade emotions, but unless we deal with them with integrity we may have regrets as time goes by.

The solution to gluttony is moderation in food and drink, or any other addiction we are over-indulging in.

Finally, the answer for pride is humility. Being proud of our accomplishments at a job well done is not a bad thing. The problem with pride arises when we go overboard, becoming vain, arrogant and haughty. We do not even like ourselves when we don this puffed up attitude, if we are being perfectly honest.

As strong as the negative traits, more accurately known as sins are, the positive virtues can become just as strong or stronger. It is simply a matter of focusing on good over bad, choosing good over evil, which means choosing virtue over sin. Practicing these seven virtues is one way we can make good shine in our lives.

Modern day thinkers would like us all to believe that there is no sin any more, that negative traits are merely mental, emotional and/or psychological shortcomings when in fact they are sins; calling sins “negative traits’ keeps us from addressing sins head on, complete with admission of fault, followed by forgiveness and mental, emotional and psychological relief.

What is wrong with the world starts with you and me, and the priorities we live by. You and I are each responsible for the conditions in our lives, our neighborhoods, cities and states, and in all countries in the world. Each day you and I get to decide for good, or for bad; for virtue or for sin. We each decide on this very day whether we will choose good over evil, evil over good or virtue over sin, or sin over virtue. We can build ourselves up or we can tear ourselves down. Likewise, we can tear our neighbors down or build them up; like tearing down or building up policies and actions that benefit the entire world.

Why does this matter?

It matters to you as an individual person to mature in integrity and honesty. It matters in order to create the neighborhoods we want to live in. It matters to stand up for the scientific facts that tell of how to fix broken systems in the world. Integrity and truth matter. It is not necessary to kill each other to make this happen. God the Father is Creator of it all.

Thinking of our failings only as bad habits or negative traits keeps us is a downward cycle of “that is just how I am.” But acknowledging our failures as sins, something we can repent and be forgiven for, gives us hope. We can make amends and repair the broken bridges we have broken in our relationships. Try as we might, we will sin before the night is through in our thoughts, words and actions today. We are not perfect. But we keep trying. God the Father will always forgive us, through the Love of Jesus our Savior, and the Love of the Holy Spirit. These are the gifts promised to us by Jesus. Each day we have this hope. There is always hope.

Isn’t it our own business how we live our lives?

Yes, it matters. Yes, it is our own business. The point is that we look at the world, then point fingers at what is wrong with it, when you and I are the snowball that started it all. There are things we can do to fix the problems of personal and global greed, envy, sloth (laziness), lust, wrath (anger), gluttony and pride, as mentioned above. We must start with ourselves if we want our countries to be better, for the sake of the world.

We have to start with the beginning of the problem, not just the middle or end of the problem.

Things never stay the same. Change is the only constant in life. Choosing good over bad, good over evil, or virtue over sin, however you look at it, will create a healthier, kinder, more humane world in which we all can live and thrive. This also creates a new beginning in our relationship with God, which might need our attention at this very moment.

Start right where you are.

Are you in government? Then make the most honest, best decisions you can for the life of all the people under your jurisdiction, and for the life of the planet, not just self interest. Otherwise, you can be the fulcrum that tips towards destruction not only of you personally, but the entire earth. We are very near tipping towards the point of no return. Presently this is possible to fix. Try to be part of the solution, not exacerbating the problem. Things never stay the same. You can be the instrument to save the world as opposed to demolishing it. Ask for God’s help, through the intercession of Jesus Christ, with all the Love the Holy Spirit has to give.

The same goes for the financial crisis erupting in all countries across the globe, and all other matters of importance. Remember this when things get so complicated we cannot see the forest for the trees, think PEOPLE BEFORE THINGS. To have balance, prioritize people by helping where and when you can over taking care of things. Financial matters are things. Things matter, but people matter more. Money is not always the answer for problems people have. Give to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s and to God the things that are God’s.

Yes, it all matters. You matter.

Do not forget to include God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son and the Love of the Holy Spirit in all your decisions for the best results possible.

All people matter, not only the rich, the top one percent of the wealthiest among us; not only the milky white people, but all people represented by the 203 countries including territories and protectorates of the United States of America, most of which are not milky white. God the Father, Creator of heaven and earth, created Jesus His Son as His first Creation before any and everything else, in which Jesus helped to Create every other Creation known to us. We were all Created in Love, and with free will.

We live in a global society. Our friends and families live all over the world. The planes we fly land in most all countries in this one world we share.

We are one race, the human race, here on this planet.

Education matters. Are you in education? Encourage your students/children with critical thinking skills in order that they include compassion and common sense as a problem solving process they can work with, including not mindlessly following the mistakes of some of the prejudiced generations before them. Show them by example how we all can be better people. Pray again. Pray through Jesus Christ, in the Love of the Holy Spirit, to the Father of All Creation, for the minds of all of humanity to continue to grow and learn as we were intended to grow and learn.

Educators, how do you handle bullying, hungry students, students at risk, students compromised in a wide variety of situations, and students standing up for themselves? Education is a priority in every person, family, neighborhood, state and country for the success of the world. Teachers are the shining light, the good that can help so many students in need of empathy, compassion, and understanding to be better citizens of the world. Never stop praying, through the intercession of Jesus Christ, who Himself endured numerous injustices and bullying in this world.

However we think of it, and whatever we think about, we bring about. Let’s make the world a beautiful place to live, within ourselves, with our families and friends, neighborhoods, states, countries and the entire world. Let us include God our heavenly Father, Jesus Christ His Son and our brother, and the Love of the Holy Spirit in our greater families since that is truly what we are, one global family.

God Bless

First Week of Advent

heavenly_host[1]

Advent is a special time in the Christian calendar. It is the beginning of the church year. We light the first purple candle marking the first of four weeks of preparation celebrating the first Christmas at Bethlehem, the birth of Jesus Christ, Son of God. The angels sang hymns of glory to Him, and shepherds knelt before this holy Babe in the manger in awe and adoration. The birth of the Savior of the world was prophesied since the dawning of humankind. Everyone had been watching for the signs of the coming of the messiah. They were expecting the prophecies about Him to be fulfilled, since every other prophecy had been fulfilled. They were on alert.

Now it is approximately 2019 years following His birth, since the start of today’s calendar is off by about 4-6 years from the actual year of the birth of Jesus. This first week of Advent not only commemorates preparations we can make for the birth of the Savior of all human beings in every land on December 25, it also calls to mind the very last prophecy yet to be fulfilled. It is the prophecy of the return of the Savior to humankind all over the earth. Just as the faithful were waiting for the Savior to arrive over 2,000 years ago, we are also alert to Jesus’ coming in glory at the end of time, when He will gather us into his heavenly and earthly kingdom of love and peace.

It is in faith we wait in anticipation, looking forward to this kingdom of love and peace Jesus told us about. This prophecy, soon to be fulfilled in Jesus, is in Isaiah 2:4, “The Lord will settle international disputes; all nations will convert their weapons of war into implements of peace. Then at last all wars will stop and all military training will end.” ~ taken from The Catholic Living Bible, Tyndale House Publishers

Advent is a time of preparing our hearts, minds and souls to be ready to greet Him again. When was the last time we spent an hour of prayer, uniting our hearts with Jesus, His Father, and the Holy Spirit, not just in a community setting like church, but in a one-on-one time with Him during the week? There are 168 hours in a week. It is a nice break with the rush of the season, social media, television, and life’s schedules, to carve out whatever time we can to feed our soul. We spend so much time on what we feed our body and/or our minds. Feeding our souls is like an oasis in the desert.

Are there relationships we can mend? Can we help another in need among us? We have so many opportunities to help others.

Perhaps we can be better earth-keepers, feed the wild birds of the forest and fields during these coming winter months, or take good care of our pets, especially those that are outside in the elements.

We can visit nearby shrines both for the events they hold as well as for the Christmas lighting displays many of them have. Or we can visit churches that hold special services, or make special visits as in the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, and/or prayer services if we want to share these moments with friends and family, or simply go by ourselves. New beginnings are always possible in Advent.

Anything we can do to change the only focus on consumerism, materialism, and/or divisions within society is a welcome change to our regular non-Advent days. Now is the time to settle disputes, build bridges and mend broken fences with friends, family and the world at large. We can build consensus, find common ground, build a safer community and world in which to live. It is possible to live in a more aware way resulting in saving this one planet on which we all live and breathe, at least at this moment. We can do better in so many ways.

If we have fallen away from our faith, or if we never experienced faith, now is a good time to open our hearts, minds and souls to the possibility that the resurrected Jesus, once a human and divine Baby, can transform our hearts, minds and souls. Ask Him to give you insight, knowledge and a special grace which can light a spiritual fire of love, peace beyond all human understanding. Advent is the time for prayers such as these.

There are as many ways to prepare our hearts, minds and souls as there are individuals among us. These are merely some suggestions to help us on our way to reflecting on Baby Jesus sent to you and me all these years ago, and to grow in awareness and raise our consciousness in realizing that Jesus does walk among us, and works in and through us. Jesus promises to be with us whenever we call on Him, until He comes in glory.

God Bless

Good Friday Meditation ~ “Ad Quem Dui Suspiravi”

This beautiful prayer makes a meditative pause today, Good Friday. Find a few quiet moments to

rejuvenate your mind, soul and spirit. Drink from the well that never will run dry.

This prayer was first published as “Ad Quem diu Suspiravi,” from the Latin of Alexander LeopoldFranz Emmerich, Prince of Hohenlohe, Bishop of Sardica. It was translated by the Rev. John F. Duston, S.J.

“He for Whom my heart was sighing
Jesus, now at last is mine.
I possess him and embrace Him
Sharing in His life divine.
*
So, my soul, with all thy powers,
Let thy hymn of triumph ring
And with holy exultation,
Greet the coming of thy King.
*
Sad was I. distressed and lonely;
Joyless was the path I trod;
He, above all else the dearest,
Was not near me – He, my God.
*
Ah! but then He came and entered
In the dwelling of my soul
And the deepest consolation
Held me in its sweet control.
*
Strong the sun, dispersing shadows
Lowering over the darkened earth;
Gently strong, the falling raindrops
Bringing wilted flowers rebirth.
*
Stronger still, the Master Lover
Dissipates my human fears;
Gone all sorrows; gone all anguish;
And the light of hope appears.
*
Now, the day in beauty dawning,
Now each hour till night from morn,
Breathes its happy benediction,
Jesus in my heart is born.
*
He who has Thee wants for nothing;
Thy possession, joy supreme,
Font of life with all its riches,
Happiness and peace serene.
*
Shall I not then, sing Thy praises,
King of kings and Lord of Lords,
If within my heart, I ponder
All the gifts Thy love accords?
*
As I hasten to unfold Thee
In my arms – myself alone –
Thou art rushing, gently, loving,
To enfold me in Thine own.
*
Let me count Thy gifts, dear Jesus:
Out from dark eternity,
Thou hast fashioned me from nothing –
Nothing and obscurity.
*
Thou hast given of Thy nature –
Human me, a thing divine!
Sharing, through Thy loving kindness,
Treasures that are truly Thine.
*
On a wind-swept hill, deserted,
In a stable, Thou were born.
And Thy death – ah, what a contrast!
Love divine, and human scorn!
*
These were gifts, but all above them.
Every day, You come to me,
All forgiven; all forgotten,
Smiling, gracious, lovingly.
*
O the rapture, dearest Jesus,
That Thy thrilling presence brings!
Take me in complete possession,
Son of God and King of kings.
*
Love of self – the weed most killing –
Root it out and in its place,
Plant Thy Love; make me adore Thee;
Make me love Thee by Thy grace.
*
Take whatever in me hurts Thee,
So that You and I may be
Joined in everlasting friendship
Now and in eternity
*
When the sun in glory rises,
When at night, it sinks to rest,
Stay with me, my dearest Jesus,
Loved, by Thou my loving Guest.
*
Let not life with all its falseness,
Let not Death’s relentless power,
Let no force, however potent,
Break the union of this hour.
*
Till my dying breath I’ll love Thee;
In my heart, I’ll praise Thy name
Till my human voice in heaven,
Joins angelic hosts’ acclaim.
*
Then, I’ll gaze on Thee in rapture;
See Thee as Thou truly art;
I shall love Thee – love Thee Always –
Soul to soul and Heart to heart.
AMEN
