The common carotid artery running in the axial plane was selected, and a perpendicular line was drawn (the yellow lines in A - D), edge line profile was calculated reflecting the CT attenuation profile of those lines. In figure E, the red dashed lines in figure E indicated the last dip point and the first peak point on the rapid descending CT attenuation curve, and the red dots indicated the 10% point and 90% point. ERD was the distance between two red dots in its CT attenuation curve and ERS was the slope between these two red dots
