Shell String Event Sign-Up Form for February 21, 2026
Shell String Event Sign-Up Form for February 21, 2026
Thank you for volunteering to be a part of our Shell String event! This event will be hosted at the Orange County Coastkeeper Office (Address: 3151 Airway Ave F#110, Costa Mesa, CA 92626) on February 21, 2026 from 10 AM-11 AM. At this event, you will help our restoration team create shell strings - habitats that we use to grow native Olympia Oysters. Clean oyster shells are drilled and strung on wire, creating the needed home for oyster larvae to settle on. Strung on ropes, these recycled shells provide a perfect place for larvae to settle and grow, replenishing our native oyster beds. Activities include: - using industrial drills to drill oyster shells (must be 18+ to use drill) - assembling shell strings - cutting dock line - etc. Please fill out this form so that we may have your information prior to our event.
