Listed below are the goals for the week from Bonnie and the book 'Organize Now' by Jennifer Ford Berry, and my attempt at setting and accomplishing them.
1. Get at least 7 hours sleep a night - well this is a good one, at least it's a good idea! I am the proverbial 'night owl' and am making a stab at trying to get this done. I love, love, love staying up after everyone else has called it a night. But, my late-nights have been taking their tole on this ol' gal lately, so for the last three nights I have managed to go to bed an hour earlier each night. Eventually, I am going to make it there when, as my husband puts it, the rest of the world turns in at night. (p.s. I did get 5 hrs last night!)
2. Keep a To-Do List - I have always been a list-maker/keeper! Could not make it through each day without my list. It's not as organized as it should be and most days it is way too long! Have to learn to be a little more realistic with this.
3. Start a Journal - Oh, I love little blank books, but never seem to continue with this. I would love for family members in generations to come to be able to read my thoughts. Sometimes when I start these, they just seem too boring, so I quit. Have got to remember they do not have to be works worthy of publishing, but simply me, who I am. Think I might be a little ocd in this area!
4. Limit tv - this is easy, since this is not my favorite pasttime. I do love football and NCIS, but can live without them if necessary.
5. Schedule Breaks (for me) - this I do not do. Will have to combine this with the 'me time' and my 'computer time'
6. Pray/Meditate - This is an area that I do want to work on. I want to create a prayer journal so that I can keep up with prayer lists, prayer requests, and most of all answered prayers. This will go hand-in-hand with Daily Devotionals, which I am going to work hard on keeping that commitment until it is just a natural daily habit. It's really sad that I let life get in the way of that sometimes.
7. Exercise - Oh, this is way, way, way past due!! All I can say is that I have been so negligent in this area and I have a lot of catching up to do. It will be an item on that Daily To-Do List!
8. Schedule "Me-Time" - Me-time will consist of exercise, computer time, daily devotional and prayer time, and not in that particular order!
9. De-Clutter - This will have to be the most embarassing thing because I am a pack-rat and it has become a little overwhelming. I need a 12-step program for this! Baby-steps, baby-steps! That's what I will be taking in this area!
10. Start a Schedule - so now I have to get busy and go back through the above results and put it all on paper, which will be a difficult thing for me. Glad I have a little time to work on it!
Thank you Bonnie for making me sit down and sort through all this. Maybe by the end of the year, I will be a transformed child of God, wife, momma, woman, housekeeper, and friend!
