About Lizzie

Born and raised in South Florida and currently based in New York City, Lizzie Sider is an American singer-songwriter, actor, speaker, and Founder and CEO of Nobody Has The Power To Ruin Your Day, an organization for youth empowerment.

Early in her music career, Lizzie’s singles, “Butterfly” and “I Love You That Much” charted in the Top 40 on country radio, with “Butterfly” receiving a Hollywood Music in Media Award for Best Americana Song. Continuing to write with renowned lyricists such as Liz Rose (Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw), Heather Morgan (Brett Eldridge, Keith Urban), and Lisa Drew (Martina McBride, Emerson Drive), Lizzie recorded and released multiple singles, EPs, and other musical projects, including a single entitled “Summer Love Song,” which was featured as the opening track of Hallmark Mystery’s original movie,
A Time To Dance, and “Mariposa” (the Spanish version of “Butterfly”), which was a spirited collaboration with Grammy-winning composer and producer, Rudy Pérez. Lizzie has opened for country acts such as Jamie O’Neal, Aaron Tippin, and Gloriana, and had the great honor of sharing the stage with Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul, and Mary, as an exclusive special guest, in an evening performance of their greatest hits. She has also sung the national anthem for over 20 major league sporting events, including MLB, NHL, NHRA, United States Polo Association, and PGA Tour Champions.  Lizzie’s love for music and songwriting was born from her love of performing in live and musical theater. Lizzie has continued to honor these roots through performances in plays and musicals. She has been seen on stage as Daisy in Another Round (Nashville, TN), Amy in Amy, Barbara, and Carl (New York, NY), and in several musicals at the Jackson Hole Playhouse (including Cat in The Ballad of Cat Ballou and Martha in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers), the very place where she first fell in love with the stage.

With a purpose-driven mission to make an impact beyond music and the stage, Lizzie is a passionate advocate and leader for our youth. Lizzie’s advocacy was born through the success of “Butterfly,” which was originally inspired by her personal life experience of overcoming bullying as a young girl. In 2014, Lizzie founded Nobody Has The Power To Ruin Your Day, an organization for youth empowerment. Through this organization, Lizzie travels the country, sharing inspiring messages of confidence, kindness, and resiliency, through student-facing youth programs that dynamically combine music and speaking. In recent years, Lizzie has expanded her programming to include her personal testimony of resiliency, hope, and inner strength, gained through an arduous yet life-changing journey of recovering from a traumatic brain injury, caused by a car accident in 2018. While she has performed various original programs for an array of ages and environments, her primary focus has been performances in elementary and middle schools. Since 2013, Lizzie has personally visited over 500 schools nationwide. Lizzie’s digital evolution of her original, in-person program on anti-bullying has reached an additional 9,000+ schools worldwide, representing over 6 million students. In addition to youth programs, Lizzie has been a keynote and featured speaker in numerous professional environments, including national conferences on education, such as SSAC, ISTE, AASA, NCEA, and AFSA.

Lizzie has appeared as a featured musical guest on multiple daytime talk shows such as Hallmark’s
Home & Family and The Queen Latifah Show. Her work, in both music and activism, has been featured in publications such as Country Weekly, CMA Close Up, TIME for Kids, and Music Express Magazine. Lizzie is the recipient of The Peter Yarrow HateBraker Hero Award, a GWEN Luminary Award, and a proclaimed Lizzie Sider Day in the township of Fair Lawn, NJ (October 29, 2018), to celebrate and honor Lizzie’s impact on their community.

Lizzie is currently working on a children’s book entitled
Butterfly, to bring the lyrics of her song to life, through a brand new storyline and cast of lovable characters.
