The one thing that would make the world better for cats, I think, might be for us to have a better understanding of how they see the world. Unlike us, and unlike dogs, they aren’t naturally gregarious as a species. This means that whilst some cats like some other cats, for the most part (there are always exceptions…) cats don’t want, like, or need lots of cat buddies. So when we keep them as pets, one cat in a household is fine, and certainly doesn’t need to have extra friends! Also, cats are nature’s control freaks and need some self-determination.

In the time it took for us to pick-up a King Cake from Lunardi’s and go to the library, chemicals dispersed by two planes criss-crossing the sky had covered it with a haze. Otherwise, it’s a mild but windy day here. (I’m counting on Mother Nature to blow this shit outta here.)

Today marks Feralia, the last day of the Festival of Parentalia – the Roman version of Day of the Dead. This is ALSO Fat Tuesday, hence the King Cake:

The Tower, The Magician, and the Knight of Swords

‘Kayso, we’ve got a New Moon (Pisces) coming around at 11:05pm here on the West Coast – tomorrow for everyone else. Venus enters Aries at 11:55pm tonight, as well, but I’m not gonna cover that. Both the Moon and Pisces represent the unconscious and psychic ability, and heightened powers of divination. Pay close attention to dreams [1] and synchronicities. This New Moon is influenced by the Fixed Star Enif, found in Pegasus’ (constellation) nose; Enif equates “Danger in Battle.” (See The Tower, below.)

I performed a Tarot reading early this morning. After cleansing the area and deck with Copal and grounding/shielding myself, I asked this question: “Tell me a story of this New Moon (Pisces) occurring tomorrow.” (Not really a QUESTION, but the cards understood.) I stated that I was going to draw three cards from the top of the deck (after shuffling and cutting) and that although Reversed cards would be read as upright a greater emphasis would be placed on them.

I must confess, I get positively giddy when The Magician appears. Although The Tower is one of the most disturbing cards in Tarot, I always see it positively as it is the Trump card of Mars. The Prince of Knives is my “birthday year” muse. I drew him last April 4th and he will continue to guide and influence me until April 3, 2023. So, all in all, a very exciting spread!

The overall message of this spread is that something will be demolished (The Tower) so The Magician can perform Magickal alchemy by creating something NEW from the rubble, which will then be disseminated in some fashion by the Prince of Knives. Here, the two Trump cards are working hand-in-hand.

When two Major Arcana cards appear together, it’s a good indication that there’s an interplay between two major forces or major life-issues at work.

The Tower: Sudden upheaval and destruction of old views and habits. The intense force behind this card is cathartic and purifying. The Tower symbolizes rapid change – requiring you to purge that which is obsolete in order to make room for something better – by employing a swift kick in the ass, or by knocking you upside the head with a brick…metaphorically speaking. Being that this card is ruled by the Planet of War, it may represent the impact of the Fixed Star Enif during the next few days.

The Magician represents communication between the realms of the spirit and the temporal; and possesses the ability to make things happen, seemingly out of thin air. The Magus of Power is the shaper and creator of reality; the absolute power to change destiny according to one’s Will to do so.

Dreams are often powerful and guiding under his sway. Tap into your creative power and skills. The Magician was drawn Reversed, so it carries an extra powerful influence.

Prince of Knives (Knight of Swords). All Knights are messengers and figures of action. The Prince of Knives is a free-thinker capable of forming abstract concepts. Thinking outside the box, if you will. Perceptive, curious, intuitive, and articulate, he also possesses a sharp intellect. This card instructs us to create our own reality; whatever we think to be true becomes our truth. (Which doubles back to the message of The Magician.)
