Prosperity abounds

The color green is prominent in all three cards symbolizing nature, Spring, and prosperity. As opposed to material wealth, prosperity can refer to any aspect of one’s life and it was on my mind this morning when I sat down to do this spread. You see, today marks the fifth anniversary of my coming back to Santa Clara and I am feeling very fortunate to have so much “wealth” in my life. Our lives are abundantly rich in just about everything. So coming from this point of view, let’s break it down…Friday-Sunday:

Note: The suit of Grails (Cups) is associated with with emotions, the unconscious, intuition, relationships, and psychic awareness. Venus is also at play in two of the cards.

Aces are “Controlling Cards” which indicate new beginnings, control your path, and relate to where you are heading. The Ace of Grails (Cups) embodies feminine energy and is symbolic of the Holy Grail – the mystical vessel with the power to heal. It is the essence of emotion and intuition. The card speaks of self-expression that comes from the heart (dance, poetry, art, etc). Today is National Creativity Day. Synchronicity…

Major Arcana cards constitute life lessons (The Universe is calling the shots and there’s not a thing you can do about it.) and their effect can last a long time. The Empress is governed by the number 3 symbolizing a powerful drive to express feelings, ideas, and dreams in a creative manner. She is also the planetary Trump of Venus whose Archetype is that of “Mother Earth” and represents Divine Feminine energy, the power of creation and birth, abundance, and the pleasure and bounty of the physical world. The Empress’ energy is supportive. Her message is to find the magic and beauty that is all around us. Engage in activities that involve Nature.

I drew the 7 of Grails (Cups) last Monday. Interpretations can vary from read to read; however, since this card has appeared TWICE in a row, it’s telling me to pay more attention to its message.

The 7 of Grails symbolizes multiple choices in life, each with its own possibilities and challenges, however, don’t be overwhelmed. The World is your oyster so why not embrace them all – or none, if that’s what feels right to you. From a spiritual standpoint, stay grounded and focus on practices that resonate with your Authentic self.

There is still a hint of deception in the card… Suspicion and schadenfreude are shadow sides of Venus in Scorpio. You’ll want to shine a light on the shadows of your relationships.

The old Cactus Club hosted PBF back-in-the-day. Of course, we were there…up close and in front.

At the Avalon (which used to be a couple blocks away), many years later, we saw them again with their new bassist – who I talked to and was a very nice young man. Of course, we were there…up close and in front.

You say you wanna set the night on fire
But there’s just one thing
That you need to take you higher
1-2-3 let’s go! Rock ‘n’ Roll….

It’s Friday night we’re gonna hit the lights
It’s you and me, we’re gonna Rock ‘n’ Roll, All night!
It’s Saturday, and there’s just no way we’re gonna sit home
Alone, well oh no

Let me take you one step higher!
Rock ‘n’ Roll is gonna set the night on fire. x2
Yeah

We’re the burning flames, too wild to tame
Yeah, yeah, yeah, we’re gonna shock the world. All right
In Hollywood, wake up the neighborhood
All the boys and girls, they’re gonna scream and shout, hey!

Let me take you one step higher!
Rock ‘n’ Roll is gonna set the night on fire

Let me take you one step higher!
Rock ‘n’ Roll is gonna set the night on fire

We’re the baddest boys, making noise
Break the chains, what do you say, Rock ‘n’ Roll….

Saturn, Neptune, and the Dance of the Seven Grails

‘Kayso, before I get on with the serious stuff, here’s a joke we heard at the comedy club last night:

What is a cat’s favorite color?

Purr-ple

Last March I wrote about Neptune entering Aries and how electrifying things were going to become: This is the last in an Aries-Libra set of eclipses (The Neptune bit is towards the end of the Post.). While I’m still thrilled about Neptune’s transition from Pisces into my own sign of Aries, I’m less than thrilled about killjoy Saturn joining the party. Yesterday Saturn entered Aries, as well, and will stay there until 2028.

As Saturn is “in fall” in Aries, it puts a damper on all that productive and fiery energy. (Planets in fall or detriment are uncomfortable in the sign where they are transiting.) Uncomfortable would be an understatement. I don’t like Saturn’s heavy-handedness but it is what it is and during this time period we all must deal with the “Task Master” of the Zodiac – especially those of us born under Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn Sun signs.

Neptune in Aries wants to save the world
by becoming the hero (or anti-hero),
but Saturn forces that hero to
face their shadow and earn their scars.

– Dark Star Astrology

However, one astrologer sees a bright side to this ingress:

Saturn is in the sign of his fall in Aries because it is opposite the sign of his exaltation, Libra; however, in this sign (Aries), he also has a term (in the last two degrees of the sign) and participating triplicity rulership. His essential debility means he cannot do as he pleases and will look at, respond to, or even do Mars’ (as its domicile ruler) and the Sun’s (as its exaltation lord) bidding.

Saturn represents both external authorities (such as governments, institutions, and parental figures) and our inner sense of authority, that determines our conscience and moral compass. During his stay in Aries, all eyes will be on the activities of their nation’s leaders, public figures, and people of eminence.

Moving on, we also have a New Moon in Gemini today. So I asked my trusty Tarot deck: What words of wisdom do you have for me?

Venus in Scorpio. Sevens in Tarot are connected to the higher vibration of The Chariot and always highlight a challenge. The challenge here is to break the illusion that, among multiple choices or decisions, you must choose only one. Don’t limit yourself but if something doesn’t feel “right” keep looking. Go with the flow while trusting your instincts. Additionally, the 7 of Grails (Cups) invites you to bring your fantasies to life – for one of her attributes is intense creative imagination. (The 6 of Scepters, which I pulled in the Beltane spread on May 1st, likewise advises me to: Respond to transitions in a creative manner and move towards your dreams.)

Finally, like many cards I’ve drawn lately, I’m being warned that someone’s using the illusion of friendship to hide their deceipt.
