I just wanted to let everyone know that the new story will go live at midnight central standard time (Chicago time), so that’s in just over 3 hours from now if you’re in my time zone. I realize from the analytics I get that many of you are not, which just blows my mind. Anyway, I have opted to have a new chapter drop every night at midnight. There will not be an email alert for it, it will just be there at 12:00AM. There are twelve chapters, which includes an epilogue. I have also added a link to the first chapter from the main story page, and that link will work as of midnight tonight.

Thank you to everyone who responded to the post that went out this morning. I appreciate people understanding that I am not an IT department. Y’all know me, still the same O.G.

So MissyDee brought to my attention today that 3 of our collaborations and one of my solo projects has been stolen and “converted” by an author named Kaymren on Wattpad. She stole The Playground, Dirty Laundry, Unwritten, and Love Shack.

I have reported All of Me for copywrite infringement, but I have yet to do the others. I know this is fanfiction but JFC, this is not okay. I had to do research for The Playground because I didn’t want to write some pathetic 50 Shades knockoff that totally disregards the safety measures that are essential in the BDSM community. All of that went out the window so Kaymren could “write” a wankfest. I’m so pissed right now. I hope she’s not trying to monetize this because that’s going to open her up to some lawsuits. We’ll see what Wattpad has to say about this bullshit. In the meantime, here’s Kaymren’s page if you want to take a look-see for yourself.

I know it’s been a while since my last post. I have been writing steadily, I swear. In an effort to keep myself from posting things that are unfinished, I’ve been trying not to post until a story is complete. Makes everyone’s life easier and I don’t have to answer a million questions about when something is going to be completed that I haven’t touched since 2012.

So I know I’ve got some nerve coming here with a request, but I saw this on Instagram and I thought it sounded like a fun thing to try doing to expand my creativity. With that in mind, I present to you:

How does this work? Well, it’s pretty simple. Drop me a comment below that includes the name of a celebrity (preferrably and actor or actress), a film genre, and a song title. I’d prefer it be an actual song so that I can look it up if I don’t know it, and chances are if it was released in the last 5 years I probably don’t. I might if it’s country, but even that chance is slim these days. Please feel free to come up with some wild combinations.

I’ll check out the music, consider the genre, and the celebrity in the movie scene in order to craft a very short story. I’m hoping less than 1,000 words. Yes, you can leave me more than one comment if you have more than one suggestion. I’ll select comments at random when a song speaks to me and I’ll create a scene based on the subjects listed in the comment.

I cannot promise an immediate response, especially if I find myself flooded with comments, although I am not going to get my hopes up. I’m just hoping to be able to use this exercise to help me get unstuck when I’m working on something and feeling stuck with it.

I appreciate your help, should you choose to challenge me.

Hello, my lovelies!

Sorry, it’s been a week. The good news is that I rewrote the final chapter of this story, which didn’t sit well with me the way I originally planned for it to end. I’m much happier with the new ending. That means there are only 4 more chapters left of this tale before that’s all she wrote. Literally. Anyway, I hope everyone’s having a good week.

If you’re in Cali, Texas, Louisiana, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, or any other state being affected by wildfires or square dancing hurricanes (seriously, WHO KNEW SQUARE DANCING HURRICANES WERE A THING?! 2020 is really bringing all its WTF monster toys out, isn’t it?), I hope you’re able to safely evacuate and get to a safer location to ride things out. This is so crazy. As if just the pandemic isn’t enough.

Also, Wisconsin has a special place in my heart, so I feel for all the folks up there (not so far from me), who are dealing with the protests and deaths. It’s crazy what’s happening in America right now.

Anyway, I won’t get on my political soapbox or I’ll never get off.
