PRINCE VALIANT HC, VOL 20 (1975-1976)

Fantagraphics
PRINCE VALIANT HC VOL 20 1975-1976
This was one of the most well-drawn strips in history.  Despite the newsprint, the detail which transfered was still incredible.

Flaming Carrot Comics

Flaming Carrot Comics
Flaming Carrot Comics
There were a lot of independent comics companies in the 1980s, most of which published black and white newsstands at a much higher price-point than many of us could afford.  I was a dedicated Kamui fan and picked up my share of Lone Wolf & Cub, too.

Aside from that, I was never able to afford comics like Flaming Carrot, Concrete, and some of the other, highly acclaimed but also highly-priced, indies.

Archie at Riverdale High, Vol. 2

Archie at Riverdale High, Vol. 2
Archie at Riverdale High, Vol. 2
A compilation of classic Archie comics from the 1970s.

These and Mad Magazine were always around when I was a kid, probably thanks to my older cousins.  Although I became a Marvel Zombie, it's hard to hate on Archie.

Selling Comics: The Guide to Retailing and Best Practices
Wow, that title's a mouthful!  But it is great to see some positive action from the industry in this regard.  I am 100% for writers and creators receiving residuals from their work but there was never any reason for that to kill the back market.

Never underestimate the power of Greed.
