GETA'S NEW PATTERN: URBAN DELIGHT

Do you follow Geta Quilting Studio's Blog?  It's a good one.  A while ago she posted that she needed a little help, you can read about it here.  She was looking for a name for her newest patten.  I had been following her progress for awhile and thought it had a crisp, modern look to it.  I suggested Urban Delight and she liked it.  I won!  She sent me her wonderful pattern as my prize.

I heard Charlie owns the term WINNING now.  Or, at least applied to own it. But, I am a winner.  I won these great fat quarters from Anna, over at Anna, the Artist Within. 

I met Anna in a Mary Lou Weidman class at Road to California this year.  Check out her great blog here.  Thank you Anna for the great fat quarters.  I can't wait to use them.  And, I know just where they are going.

CATCH UP

I have been visitng my mom for the past few days.  She turned 91 on November 7th.  Doesn't she look great?  And, she is doing darn good for her age.  She only takes one pill a day.

When I got home this was waiting for me.  I won a giveaway from Melissa at Ardeasnest.  Thank you so much for this wonderful fat- quarter pack Melissa.  I know I will find something pretty to make.

And then in among my emails, my friend, Nora from Switzerland, sent me this great funny.  I thought some of us might relate to this.

DOG CABIN

Do you remember the Pets on Quilts Show that Sew Cal Gal recently had on her blog?  Wasn't it fun?  There were prizes for various things and there were many lucky winners.  See what I won.  A great book Dog Cabin and others A Fast Fun Theme-Quilt Project by Kay Mackenzie.  It is a great fun project book with tons of helpful tips.  Thank you to both Kay and Sew Cal Gal for this lovely gift. I know some little ones who will love a quilt using this book and that poodle fabric I've been collecting.

I have been wanting to make a One-Block Wonder and now I have no excuse do I. Oh, I could probably come up with one if I work at it. But, I'm on the hunt for a good ethnic print. The added bonus to the give away is the other three books. I didn't realize they were coming to me. Snap! I just got back from a small holiday and have yet to dig into these. I WON!

Today I have been working on the "Grandma Loves Noelle" quilt. While busily making decisions on sizes, and fabrics, and what not, my doorbell rang and there was Beth with a darling wrapped gift.





You see she had a blog give away for her 100th post. And I was the winner. It is this great handmade pincushion. Don't you think it is adorable?
