Like most creators, I have a lot of projects that never panned out, never got picked up for publication, sputtered out, ran out of steam, call it what you want – I call ’em dead comics.

This particular one was a lot of fun – playing around in a Mad Max meets the Matrix world was a lot of fun and I wish we’d had more success with it.

Ah well, we established a really great little world in these pitch pages.

My first-ever published work was Breakneck, a supervillain-centric book about the world’s crappiest villain alone against a world full of heroes. It was published by 215 Ink (now known as Invader comics) back in 2013 (!)

Well, with the fantastic folks at Zoop, we are bringing Breakneck back in a new re-release of the original 4 issues PLUS the never-before-seen 5th issue.

Breakneck was created by me, with artist James Boulton, and original letterer Matt Brown (we brought in Micah Myers to letter issue 5).

Huge, huge thanks to Andrew DelQuadro (original 215 Ink publisher) and Mike Perkins (current EIC at Invader comics) for first letting me publish this series and then second letting me run with it at Zoop.

If everything goes according to plan, we’ll get all 5 issues inside a gorgeous hardcover with a dynamite new cover by Valentin Ramon (D4VE, Hot Damn). Here’s a look – logo and credits by Micah Myers.
