9 Months

Brielle turned 9 months old on Saturday. It's hard to believe how fast time has flown by! She had her doctor's appointment on Monday and her stats are as follows:

Weight: 20 lbs. 14 oz. (90th percentile)
Length: 30 inches (98th percentile)
Head: 17.5 inches (50th percentile)

Some of Brielle's milestones:
- She has three teeth on the bottom, with another coming in on the top.
- She is cruising all over the house. We just bought her a walker toy, and she LOVES it! She walks everywhere with that thing.
- She's discovered how to open drawers and cupboards. She loves getting out her toys, burp rags, the paper plates, the mixing bowls, and Mom's silicone muffin tin.
- She likes to help Mom with the laundry. She'll resort the laundry (reds end up with whites, blues end up with reds, you get the picture) and help take the clothes out of the dryer (sometimes before they're dry).
- She "talks" all the time. She likes to sing "ba, ba, ba, ba, barbara anne" with mommy.
- She can wave hello and bye-bye.

I apologize for sounding like an idiot in the video. The things we won't do to get our kids to perform...

Declaring War

I declare war on these little critters:

Why?  Because now 5 of my tomato plants (not to mention my egg plant and pepper plant) look like this:

I found 4 HUMONGO ones on my plants this morning.  They are now in a soapy, watery grave.  Death to all horned caterpillars!!!

Why I Married This Man

Because I knew that he'd be such a great dad!  Happy Father's Day, honey.  I love watching you play with our little girl and seeing how much you love each other.  Thanks for being such a fabulous father!!

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice

Brielle and I got to spend a week in Utah.  We loved having the cooler weather (it was in the 50's and 60's) while we were there, although Pop was sad that he didn't get to take Brielle to the pool because it was so cold.  Since my dad works out of town, it ended up being mostly a girl's week, and we had a blast!  Some of the things we did:

Play in the grass and look at the flowers

Play with cousins

Learn to drive

Enjoy a giant leather teether

Go to church with Pop and Tati

Three generations

Lounge in our pjs all day

Play with the doll house

We also got to attend my cousin's wedding while we were there.  Congratulations to McKenzie and Kolby!  We had to advert a dress disaster when McKenzie's wedding dress was altered wrong.  My mom, aunt, grandma, great aunt, and cousin all got together to help fix the dress the day before the wedding.  The best part was just being together.  It was loads of laughs!

Auntie Della and Grandma working on the dress

Dana and Tara making the final touches

Our stay was so much fun, and we can't wait to do it again soon!

Memorial Day Celebration

For Memorial Day, we decided to make a little excursion to Fredericksburg, Texas.  Fredericksburg was settled by German immigrants and still retains much of its German influence.  There are several authentic German restaurants, a pioneer museum, and a museum dedicated to the the Pacific War in WWII.   We had a great time seeing the sights.  Brielle had a hard time being in the stroller and the car seat most of the time, but she loved eating out.  So many people to flirt with!
