Christmas 2019

Actually, we are celebrating on Dec. 28th the Saturday after Christmas.

I always enjoy using this ceramic Nativity set I made many years ago.

Today we have 4 great-grands with us.

My tree always looks the same.

We have really enjoyed the sun room, which we added shortly after Jeep and I married.  This gives us room to all eat in the same room and gives the kids a little space to play.

My son, Joe Embry, seems to be planning to get a job helping Santa next year.

I can endure facial hair if it is clean and well groomed.

Maggie has just arrived and she is talking to her Uncle Jesse.

This is our newest addition, Bruce Alan, who arrived on November 19th.  He carries the middle names of both of his grandfathers.

Bruce says it's just a ho-hum sort of day.

He is checking out his great-grandmother.

Today is the first day I've got to hold the little fellow.  He is doing well and has gained a couple of pounds, but he still seems so small.

This is my grand-daughter, Kymberly, the mother of Bruce Alan.  I don't know why we didn't think to get my son, Joe, in this picture so we would have 4 generations represented.

I pulled his paci out so I could see his whole face.  He had a real suction going on there!

I think she likes this box of artist pens, coloring pencils, etc.

Jax is not too impressed with the book.

The expression on Jace's face tells me he likes the remote control car!

And I think Casey likes the Christmas tree ornament with her son's picture on both sides.

I know Kay likes hers because it has a picture of grandchildren on it.  I actually owe her one with a picture of Jax.

Jax knows we think he is funny when he makes faces at us when we are making his picture.

Jax made this wrinkled up nose and grinning face for us dozens of times and always got a laugh.

Jesse is such a good Daddy and enjoys playing with his little boy.

He likes for Daddy to hold him up high!

He has good balance for a little fellow!

Jace needs a few extra snuggles from his mama since there is a new baby in the family!
He is the middle child now instead of the baby!

Eclipse ....as I saw it on Jan. 20, 2019

This is how the moon looked as it came up over the Eastern horizon.

As it got higher in the sky, it lost the yellow glow and looked cold and white as the shadow of the earth began blocking out the light.

This is the "Blood Moon" Super Moon, or Wolf Moon, as some call it.  It was extremely hard for me to get this shot at about 11 p.m.  It was very cold outside, the moon was very high in the sky, making it hard to use the tripod and with the absence of light, this was the best I could do.  I didn't stay up to photograph it as the shadow went across to the other side :)

Here is a composite of the best shots that I got.  I hope you got to see it in person and maybe get better pictures than these.

These Hands

These are Jeep's hands playing a tune on the steel guitar.
These hands have played music on the
Guitar, Organ, Piano, and the Fiddle for the past 70 years.
These are the hands of the 6 year old boy that loved
me when we were barely starting to school.
Although we grew up and had good lives apart
for half a century, we are now back together
and these are the hands that hold mine each night
as we say our prayers and go to sleep.
These are the hands that open doors and pull out chairs for me.
These hands are strong yet soft as a baby's skin.
These are the hands that reach for mine when we give thanks
to God at mealtime for all the blessings He has given us.
These are the hands of my husband.
