McKenzie Cottage Craft patterns are written with the success of every quilter in mind. My patterns are step by step and easy to follow. Instructions are complete, right down to pressing the seams for optimum ease of construction. Each design has been sewn and tested to ensure that instructions are clear and fabric amounts given are accurate. Each pattern will guide the quilter from efficient cutting through quilting and binding. Pattern covers give skill level guidelines so quilters can select a project from easy to challenging.

My designs are focused on ease of construction and simplicity so the fabric can be the star attraction. While I love batiks and bright colors, I have sewn all of my patterns in a variety of fabric genres, and they all look great. As quilters, we frequently travel to find a fun quilt shop, or find fabric that is local to the area. We like to pick up fat quarters just because we “may not see that fabric again.” Or we buy fabric at a retreat to commemorate our fun weekend with friends. My patterns let you quickly and easily showcase that stash into a displayed memory. Isn’t that why we bought those fabrics?

From fabric selection to gift giving, quilts represent who we are. I have personalized my patterns as an extension of myself by giving them fun names that reflect my favorite places, or things I find beautiful. All of the patterns have stories on the back cover that may explain how the quilt was named or how I was inspired to design the quilt. Pattern covers are shot outdoors in natural light and settings that reflect the cozy, organic feel of quilting, as well as my love of nature.
