It’s always best practice to physically write down your wallet seed. The wallet will now verify each seed word, in a random order. There are 24 words total in a MWC wallet seed.

Windows Instructions for pool mining:

I’ll be showing how to use the different miners for windows mining. I will also include a sample batch file for each miner. Instead of using an address, you will use a login name, and also set a password. The login name can be anything you wish, as long as it is unique. This password cannot be changed once set, and should be kept private as anyone with your password can receive a payout.

Once you set your password , it cannot be changed. This is to prevent someone from changing your password and withdrawing your funds.

Ycash uses different address formats than Zcash, making it impossible to accidentally send Zcash to a Ycash address (or Ycash to a Zcash address). Transparent addresses start with “s1” instead of “t1”. Multisig addresses start with “s3” instead of “t3”. Shielded sprout addresses start with “yc” instead of “zc”. Shield sapling addresses start with “ys” instead of “zs”.

Click on “Register Account Locally”

Choose an account name and password. After you have entered account name and password twice, click on “Register Account Locally” once again. *Note: Account names are case sensitive as well.

Now, go ahead and login with your new credentials. On the next screen, click on the ZelCash icon.

On the next screen, click on “receive”, and you can retrieve your ZEL address. It has an auto-copy feature, just left click on the address to copy.

You are now setup with a wallet and address, now we move on to mining ZEL.

How to Mine: Nimiq (NIM)

NIM Specifications:

Released: Mainnet launch on April 14, 2018
Algorithm: Argon2d-nim
Block time: 1 minute
Block reward: 4965 NIM, reduced in a curved fashion (inspired in Monero and Cryptonote) proportional to the block height and remaining Nimiq supply. The reward remains constant once a certain block height is reached.
Total supply: 4,967,344,771(at time of this publication) 21,000,000,000 max

To mine NIM, you’ll need:

Any computer with a modern cpu or gpu
A browser to access your funds

NIM Storage and Management:

All storage is handled via a browser based wallet, no additional hardware or software is required.
To create a Nimiq account, and begin mining or acquiring NIM, proceed as instructed below(pictures included):

Navigate to https://nimiq.com , and click on “create account” at the top left of your browser screen.

A series of avatars will be provided to choose for your account. You can click “new avatars” if you do not like any of the displayed avatars.

After choosing an avatar, you will be asked to create a password, and then asked to verify the password you just created.

Once you have created a password, Nimiq will generate your account, and take you into the Nimiq Safe. The Nimiq Safe is how your funds are accessed as no software(other than your browser) is required to do so.

At this point, your first priority is to backup your account. Click on the text near the top of Nimiq Safe “Download your login file to save your Account.”

Another browser window will popup(you may be prompted to allow the popup), click on the button “continue to login file”.

On the next screen, click on “download login file”, and select a safe place to store the file.

Next, you will be prompted to create a backup. This will be a 24 word seed that is tied to your account. Click “create backup”.

At this time, your 24 word seed will be displayed. It is important that you physically write this down for maximum security.

After you have written down your seed, click on “validate backup”. You will then be prompted to enter specific words from your seed to verify you have written it down correctly.

Your account is now fully created and backed up. If you should lose access to the Nimiq Safe, you can restore access via the file you downloaded, or by entering your 24 word seed.

Mining NIM:

There are currently three types of mining modes to choose from; Smart, Nano, and dumb. The details for the different mining methods can be found here . The preferred method of mining currently is “dumb” mode, in which a block header is sent to the miner to hash against. This is also the mining method that will be covered in this guide. For this, we will be using the mining software provided by Noncer Pro

Mining Software:

Now that you have the mining software, and a Nimiq address, you can start mining. Here is an example of a batch file to launch the Noncer Pro mining software:

There is also a config file for more specific and advanced settings. Most of the settings are already in place, you just need to remove the “//” from the beginning of the lines with relevant settings. It is highly recommended to set a unique rig name for each worker, as this will be required for future features. Here is an example of a completed config:

To mine BTG, you’ll need:

A mining rig, or a contract with MiningRigRentals
A wallet, to store and manage your funds
Mining software that is compatible with the Equihash(144,5) algorithm BgoldPoW Personality

An Electrum wallet for Windows, Linux, and macOS is also available and can be found at https://bitcoingold.org/electrumg/ and can be used to avoid syncing with the entire BTG blockchain(approximately 165 GB)
Download the appropriate wallet and extract the folder to a known location.
Open bitcoin-qt.exe, in the BitcoinGold folder, and make a note of the directory the wallet will store data to.
Close bitcoin-qt and navigate to your wallet’s data folder(as noted above)
Make a copy of your wallet.dat file, and store it elsewhere so that you have a BACKUP in case of data loss
To create an address, click on the “Receive” tab in your BitcoinGold Core wallet, fill in optional fields if desired, click “Request payment”. You should note this address for later. You can also import this wallet to the Electrum wallet for use on a seperate computer or device. This is recommended, unless you are ok with downloading 165GB per BTG core wallet.

*NOTE: Now that you have an address, you can begin mining, even if your BTG core wallet isn’t synchronized yet.

To import your BTG core wallet to the Electrum wallet:

Click on “Help” drop down menu, go to “Debug window”
Select the “Console” tab
In the console, input “walletpassphrase 60”, which will unlock your wallet for 60 seconds so that you can retrieve your privkey
Next, input “dumpprivkey ”
Launch the Electrum wallet, and select a name for your wallet or leave as default, hit next
Tick the box next to “Import BitcoinGold addresses or private keys” hit next
Paste the privkey you received from the BitcoinGold core console, and hit next
You will be asked to make a password, since you used a privkey, and you have full access to this wallet now on the blockchain. It’s highly recommended to make a password here.

Mining BTG:

To start mining, you will need to use the accompanying .bat or .sh file, for Windows and Linux miners, respectively. Paste the following sample in your .bat/.sh file and replace the wallet with your public BTG address(noted earlier). Also, you need to make sure that you set the “pers” to BgoldPoW if you rent hash from MRR. Some miners DO have an “auto” setting, but its best to use the proper setting for BTG.
