TL;DR:

Here are the key outcomes and future plans from the event:

• Massive Participation, Strict Filtering: 10,255 users submitted over 163,000 data entries. Our multi-layer review system (AI auto-review + expert human review) ensured high standards, resulting in 47,226 “Adopted” submissions, with 38,471 achieving the highest S-level rating.
• Successful Malicious Activity Detection: Our risk control system identified and blacklisted 7,749 malicious accounts, protecting data quality and ensuring fairness for all contributors.
• Upcoming Open-Source Contributions: Based on these results, we will open-source a new dataset of S-level LLM failure cases and expand our existing MM-Food-100K dataset on Hugging Face.

Event Vision: Exploring LLM Limitations to Build the Knowledge Layer

The core vision for this event was to systematically explore the knowledge limitations of current Large Language Models (LLMs). Our goal was to collect the most critical and scarce data needed to build the AI Knowledge Layer.

To achieve this, our five tasks each had a specific focus:

• Exploring LLM Limitations (Tasks 1–3): This was our top priority. We focused on systematically collecting AI “failure cases.” To ensure these errors were objective, we restricted the scope to objective questions with a single, standard answer, not subjective ones. This expert-validated, high-difficulty data is the most valuable “fuel” for training next-generation models.
• Expanding the Food Dataset (Task 4): This was a continuation of a successful past project. Our MM-Food-100K dataset on Hugging Face has already received over 1,000 downloads, so we decided to invest further in building this valuable public dataset with the community.
• Sourcing Data for Innovative AI Applications (Task 5): We directly support cutting-edge AI implementations. For example, the “Lifelog Canvas” task was designed to meet the needs of a paying client, building a highly customized, proprietary dataset for their innovative AI application.

Task Design for “Exploring LLM Limitations”

To systematically capture LLM failures while balancing data quality with a low barrier to entry, we designed a tiered-difficulty system.

Tiered Difficulty Design

We broke this goal into three tasks of increasing difficulty:

• Model Comparison (Low Difficulty): Find Conflicts

You only needed to find cases where different LLMs gave conflicting answers to the same question. This proves at least one model is wrong, even if you don’t know the correct answer.

• Spot LLM’s Mistakes (Medium Difficulty): Find Errors

You had to have a valid reason to believe a model’s answer was wrong. This is a step beyond finding conflicts.

• Correct LLM’s Mistakes (High Difficulty): Find and Correct

This was our most valuable and difficult “Frontier Task.” You had to provide an objective question, screenshot evidence of the model’s wrong answer, and — most critically — the “gold standard” correct answer.

Strict Quality Assurance

High-value data must be matched with high-standard verification.

AI Auto-Review: This provided the initial D-to-S grade. For example, here are the grading criteria for “Correct LLM’s Mistakes”:

• D: The submitted answer text severely mismatches the screenshot content, or the submission contains invalid information like gibberish, ads, etc.
• C: The submitted question is subjective (e.g., seeking opinions or suggestions) rather than an objective question with a single standard answer.
• B: The model’s answer is already mostly correct, and your provided ‘correct answer’ has no substantial difference from it (e.g., only fixing format, units, or wording).
• A: The ‘correct answer’ you provided is partially correct but is incomplete or fails to fully address the core of the question.
• S: The model’s answer contains a critical error, and the ‘correct answer’ you provided accurately and completely corrects it.

Expert Review: This was our core defense. Even if a submission received an S-level grade from AI, it still had to pass a final review by our human experts. Any non-compliant submission was downgraded to ensure incentives only went to genuine, high-quality contributions.

Event Data Analysis

Data Overview

• Total Participants: 10,255
• Total Submissions: 162,977 (~163k)
• Adopted Submissions: 47,226 (29.0% Adoption Rate)
• S-Level Submissions: 38,471 (23.6% S-Level Rate)

Task Data Details

The table below shows the performance of the five tasks. Note the significant difference between submission counts (sub_cnt) and S-level ratings (level_s_cnt).

The data reveals two interesting insights:

Highest Difficulty Task (Correct LLM’s Mistakes):

• Phenomenon: This task offered the highest incentives and attracted the most participants (8,488), generating 39,205 submissions.
• Result: Due to its extremely high professional requirements and strict expert review, only 868 submissions were rated S-level (a 2.2% S-level rate).
• Conclusion: This aligns perfectly with our design. It proves that expert-level knowledge capable of providing “gold standard” answers is extremely scarce, and our mechanism successfully identified it.

Lowest Difficulty Task (Food Science):

• Phenomenon: This task had the lowest difficulty, also attracted a large number of participants (7,947), and generated 92,090 submissions .
• Result: It produced 35,832 S-level submissions (a 38.9% S-level rate).
• Conclusion: This provided strong support for our goal of rapidly expanding the Food dataset and, by contrast, highlights the extremely high bar for LLM correction tasks.

Good Cases

The two cases below show incorrect answers from GPT and Doubao, along with the correct answers. We encourage you to try them. The models’ answers are “hallucinations” that seem plausible but are entirely wrong. The contributors’ correct answers and derivations are the “gold standard” data that AI truly needs for iteration.

Malicious Activity Report

We encountered significant malicious activity during the event. To ensure fairness, our expert reviewers were extremely strict. The table below shows the distribution of users by malicious behavior type.

Data creates the most value when it is used. Based on the results of Season 1, we will immediately begin the following:

• Open-Sourcing LLM Limitations Data: We are currently cleaning and preparing the S-level LLM failure cases we collected (like the financial math problem above). We will open-source this dataset soon to provide AI developers and researchers with valuable, high-difficulty data for training and evaluation.
• Expanding the Food Dataset: We will merge the 36,000 S-level “Food Science” submissions into our existing MM-Food-100K dataset and release a new, larger, and more comprehensive version on Hugging Face.

Future Events

• Task: Submit 1) An objective question. 2) An incorrect answer from an AI model (text + screenshot). 3) The standard answer you directly provide (to serve as a ‘gold standard’).

💰 Reward Mechanism

• Eligibility: Only submissions that receive an initial S-level rating are eligible.
• Expert Audit: All S-level submissions will undergo an expert manual audit by Codatta Platform. Submissions that do not meet the final criteria will be downgraded and will not receive $XNY rewards.
• Reward Amount: The $XNY reward for each S-level submission is fixed per task (e.g., 150 XNY for a Model Comparison S-rated submission).
• Reward Distribution: Rewards for each Frontier are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the S-Level submission cap is reached, no further rewards will be granted under that Frontier — so submit early! The total reward pool for each task is distributed after the event ends.
