GMF Credits

The in-game tokens that you can use to enter play-to-earn or tournament matches are called GMF tokens. You can easily convert your MF tokens into GMF tokens by following these instructions:

1. Go to metafighter.com and connect your crypto wallet. Ensure you are using the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) network.
2. The moment your wallet is connected, you will notice the “Get Credits” button appearing next to your wallet balance. Click on it.
3. A popup as shown in the screenshot below will appear. Fill the amount of credits you seek and click on the “SWAP” button.

4. On clicking SWAP, you will get a notification in your crypto wallet asking for confirmation.

5. Click “Confirm” and a transaction will be created as shown in the screenshot below.

The updated version of the marketplace allows you to access advanced filters so you can own the exact Fighter NFTs that you want.

The filter now allows you to choose character level, tier level, character type, losses (maximum acceptable), wins (minimum acceptable), skills, and characteristics. You can even select the boosters (2x and 4x) directly from the filter.

While you can buy from the marketplace like before, the new update allows you to Mint the NFTs directly to your wallet addresses as well.

And lastly, you can view all the NFTs that you own in the ‘My NFTs’ section.

At present, MetaFigher offers community members two different types of staking options: $MF token staking for rewards and $MF token staking for NFTs (more on this later). The staking options allow community members to generate passive income in form of either token rewards or valuable NFTs

What’s the difference between Token Staking & NFT Staking in MetaFighter?

Token Staking (Stake to earn)

Staking $MF tokens allows community members to earn a return on their investment. Say, you stake a certain amount of $MF tokens today for 75% APR. After a period of time, when the APR (yield on the staked amount) accumulates, you can claim the 75% earned on the staking investment. Hence, this is a way to create a passive income for oneself.

NFT Staking (Stake for play)

This feature enables $MF token holders to stake their tokens and earn Fighter NFTs. These Fighter NFTs can then be used to play the game and earn further rewards. Moreover, Fighter NFTs belong to different tiers and each tier renders you a host of utilities. Currently, you can stake $MF tokens for 50 days and get a new NFT, which can be used to play the Alpha Version.

New Changes in $MF token Staking APR

After much consideration, MetaFighter needs to change the current APRs (from February 2023):

- VIP Staking from 75% to 50% APR
- Standard Staking from 50% to 25% APR

It is important to note that when $MF staking began in April last year, we had offered APR up to 300–400% (with Trustifi) to offer stakers high returns on their investments and appreciate our investors’ support. The decision to change the current VIP APR to 50% and current Standard APR to 25% has been made keeping in view the struggling market conditions.

Nonetheless, the year 2023 will mark the progress of rapid game development and consistent efforts for community expansion. With the support of our generous community, the MetaFighter team shall be able to launch the full-version of the game and offer the complete MetaFighter full fighting experience.

Please note that current high APR rewards cannot be guaranteed forever and might be reduced anytime soon as per the treasury management. From a successful IDO launch, grand TGE, mega staking contest to the exciting releases of Fighter NFTs, multiple game versions and features — a lot happened for MetaFighter and our community. It has been a year full of action.

Following a strategic roadmap, we delivered on the expectations of our community, partners and investors. And when faced with worsening market conditions and development roadblocks, the MetaFighter team braced up and exerted more force against the obstacles, abiding by the true fighting spirit of our project, to emerge as champions at the end of it.

Although the dark clouds of burgeoning problems still hover above us, we are firmly headed towards our vision, unwilling to give up.

In this blog, we have summarized the milestones MetaFighter has achieved so far and concluded with how we plan to move forward in the year 2023.

The MetaFighter IDO Launch, Game Trailer and TGE

During March 2022, we conducted a series of IDO contests for our community as well as for external NFT gamers. It led to a successful IDO launch and placed our project in a comfortable position for the token generation event (TGE).

Around the same time, our first game trailer was launched to show the investors and community members what MetaFigher is all about. You can check out the trailer here.

On 14th April, the $MF token was listed on PancakeSwap DEX.

#1 on DexTools & Launch of Pre-Alpha Version

On a fateful day in April, $MF token rose up to No. #1 position on DexTools!

As the community rejoiced, we released the Pre-Alpha Version (version 1) of the MetaFighter game on 13th June. Partners and community members welcomed the first version wholeheartedly and gave us the nod to keep progressing.

And we did!

6.3 million $MF tokens staked by the end of June

Unbelievable statistics appeared at the end of the $MF staking period. It turned out that the MetaFighter Tesla Contest — one of the biggest giveaways in the Web3 space — had done the magic! (Read to know all about the contest and learn who eventually won on this link).

The growing faith of the community in MetaFighter encouraged the team to pace up its development process.

INO for Fighter NFTs, Beta Testing & Plans for the new version

During the months of July and August, MetaFighter development was at its peak. Initial NFT Offering (INO) took place on well-known launchpads such as NFTb, Enjinstarter etc.

On the other hand, the MetaFighter team organized a KOL Beta Testing and Pre-Alpha Bug Hunting Contest to allow community members to find and inform about the bugs they can find in the first version.

Thanks to the community and strong KOL support, we received numerous entries that helped us to launch the new version quite sooner than initially planned.

Pre-Alpha Version 2.0 and the all-new Minting Page

Considering every aspect of the initial version and the identified bugs, the MetaFighter developers committed themselves to deliver an improved version of the demo game. On 29th August, a few weeks before the planned release, the Pre-Alpha Version 2.0 (version 2) came out with advanced features and in-game improvements. (Read more about Pre-Alpha Version 2.0 here).

While the game had undergone changes, the craze around Fighter NFTs increased. And so we released the Minting Page where community members, partners and other NFT gamers could go and buy Fighter NFTs to build a collection. (Check out the official MetaFighter Marketplace here.)

We knew what we had to do next. We began creating the in-game utilities for the Fighter NFTs, as part of the original plan. The first utility being: use Fighter NFTs to play the MetaFighter game.

The NBX adventure, the Alpha Version and its exciting features

By mid-November, the MetaFighter game had seen significant changes. And we found it to be our responsibility to introduce Europe, if not the world, to the first-of-its-kind NFT fighting game. So we exhibited at the Next Block Expo on 23–24 Nov and over 1000 Web3 enthusiasts from all over Europe saw what we’ve been doing and many decided to have a live battle at the booth against our team!

Post two months and a host of significant upgrades, the Alpha Version (version 3) was released on 29th November with new game modes, enhanced network connection, better matching, special fighter effects, and a lot more!

Other than the game, we introduced $MF staking for Fighter NFTs and tier-up function for NFTs so that NFT holders can derive more utilities. (Read about the Alpha game version and the new features on this link).

The way forward in 2023

To conclude, MetaFighter had an exciting year. We kept our minds off the worrying market conditions and focused on game development and community engagement.

In 2023, we will continue to develop our game to bring out the final version. With our 60+ partners, we seek to organize a global tournament and reach out to the famous gaming guilds to join us. Four more fighters will be modeled and introduced in the first half of the new year and around the same time we’ll launch Arena NFTs and governance features for our community.

With this, the MetaFighter seeks to make the New Year 2023 special for all!
