Before starting this guide you will need a MetaMask wallet with the Ethereum network configured. For the Wanchain side, you can use any wallet that has a Wanchain address. You can use MetaMask, Wan Wallet for desktop, Wanmask, or Wanchain Mobile wallet. More info on these can be found here in the Wallet & Tools section.

On the MetaMask Ethereum wallet, you need to have CFI and ETH for gas fees.

Guide

• Go to https://bridge.wanchain.org/#/
• Click on connect wallet
• Choose MetaMask

• Log in to your MetaMask plugin. Make sure that the Ethereum network is selected and the account that holds your CFI.
• Click on ‘Select Asset please’ and choose CFI

• Choose Ethereum at ‘Select from chain’
• Choose Wanchain at ‘Select to chain’
• Paste your Recipient address (Wanchain address) in the ‘Recipient’ field. The ‘From’ address should be filled in automatically when connecting wallet
• Fill in the amount you want to bridge
• Doublecheck everything and if you are sure you filled in everything correctly
• Click ‘Next’

• Click ‘Confirm’

• MetaMask will pop up and ask you to set approval for the transaction (only the first time). The gas fee you will see is a high estimate. Because of the fluctuations in gas fees on Ethereum this is needed to make sure the transaction doesn’t fail. You will receive back the unspent fee.
• After the approval went through you will get another MetaMask pop up. This is the actual transaction. Like in the approval, this is a high estimate. Generally it cost the same as a Uniswap swap. You can see the current fees on that here https://etherscan.io/gastracker.

• After confirming the transaction you will see a summary of your transaction with all the info. Please note that a transaction can take a while.

Now the last thing you have to do is add the token to your wallet so it’s visible.

• Open MetaMask (or WanMask)
• Make sure you are connected to the Wanchain network in the top of your MetaMask plugin
• Click on add token

• paste 0x716f88d32B52342AF040B2E775871dFF56EBd035 in to the token address field
• Click ‘Next’ and afterward ‘Add Token’

How does it work?

We will initiate a vote to decide on which token the reward will be. There will be 5 rounds and each round lasts 4 weeks. The vote for the next round will be initiated 2 weeks before the current round ends. The Hive works as follows: Stake $WASP — Earn voted token. Like the current Hive, there will be no lockup times, you can withdraw instantly at any time. The old Hive will stay in place, so you will have more options to stake your $WASP.

There was 400k WASP saved from the burn. This means that for each round we will use 80k of WASP for buying the designated token.

To avoid any future confusion, we are introducing a new governance model that would specifically be adapted to Wanswap exchange features.

Proposals consist of a 3 to 5 days voting period where the community will submit votes. There are two proposal categories: those initiated by the team, and those initiated by the community.

Team Proposals

1) Major Proposals initiated by the core team:

Team proposals require 50% approval from the community and at least 10% of eligible votes (circulating supply), this means that all addresses that voted need to account for at least 10% of the total circulating supply. This type of proposals will always have two options to choose from. (Yes/No, True/False…)

2) Minor Proposal initiated by the core team:

This type of proposal will offer the community with several voting choices. The highest % choice will result in implementation of the proposal at the end of the voting period.

Community Proposals

• Proposing governance actions requires you to hold at least 0.2% of the circulating WASP supply on your address.
• To initiate a proposal, any community member would need first to share it on wanswap forum here: http://bbs.zookeeper.finance/t/wanswap. The team will need to confirm if implementing the proposal is technically possible, regardless of the team’s opinion on the proposal (the technical justification must be shared with the proposal creator, and the community if necessary)

1) Major Proposals initiated by the community:

2) Minor Proposals initiated by the community:

This functions in the same way as the team-proposed Poll Vote by offering the community several voting choices. Here too, the highest % voted option will result in implementation of the proposal at the close of the voting period.

Once a proposal has passed, it will be implemented shortly after.

Note: In a scenario where more than one technical implementation is required, this will be addressed on a first-come, first-served basis.

WanSwap is a cross-chain AMM DEX, it shares a lot of traits with Uniswap but also offers some unique advantages. You can swap tokens from different chains in a truly decentralized way. In addition to that, WanSwap also has farming and staking possibilities. WanSwap is a community project that was started by some of the core members of the Wanchain community. Liquidity providers can earn WASP tokens by providing liquidity to the pools and staking their liquidity pool tokens in the farming section. WASP is our utility/governance token, it can be used for voting and can be used with other DApps on the Wanchain ecosystem.

How does Cross-chain work on Wanchain?

Because of the properties of Blockchains, it’s not possible to move assets from one chain to another. This would corrupt the chain and that would defeat the purpose of a blockchain in the first place. Wanchain has been building technology to make different blockchains interoperable by building bridges. To move an asset between chains the value and amount need to be taken off that chain, this is done by locking the asset in a smart contract, once the token is locked, it will be minted on the other chain in a wrapped version, this wrapped version is like a voucher which can be redeemed when the asset is moved back to the original chain. The wrapped asset gets burned and the original asset is released from the smart contract. How Wanchain manages to do this is explained in this article.

What can you do with WASP?

First of all, WASP is used for governance, WASP holders can use their WASP vote on proposals initiated by the community. You can also stake WASP in our hive and earn WAN in return, withdrawal is instant. It can be used as collateral in WanLend, Wanchain’s compounding DApp to earn interest or you can use it for providing liquidity on WASP pairings to earn more WASP, like the new wanOCEAN-WASP pair. On some pairings on WanSwap you can even earn dual farming rewards on our other DApp, ZooKeeper, where you use NFTs to boost your rewards.

I can trade OCEAN on UniSwap or other Ethereum DEX’s, why should I use WanSwap?

A simple answer for you: low gas fees and fast transactions. A normal TX on Ethereum can be quite expensive, taking the incentive to swap tokens away because it’s simply not viable to do it. Tokens on Wanchain don’t have this issue, a transaction costs 0.001$, and transactions are done in a couple of seconds. Paying 0.001$ or 80$, I’ll leave the choice up to you.

What other blockchains are integrated?

Currently, Wanchain has BTC, EOS, ETH, XRP and, BSC integrated. DOT will be integrated in May. On WanSwap you can trade: WAN, FNX, WASP, ZOO. wanEOS, wanBTC, wanXRP, wanETH and a number of wanERC20 tokens.

How can I wrap my OCEAN to wanOCEAN?

You can wrap your OCEAN by using the WanBridge on the Desktop wallet or in a browser with a wallet extension. A guide on how to do this can be found here. Please keep in mind that wrapping will cost you an ETH fee, this is simply because the first part of the process has to be done on the native chain. This will soon be a lot less when the new L2 solution launches on Wanchain. Read more about that here.

What is the APY for providing liquidity on the wanOCEAN pair?

The rewards will be 5X for the pair for 15 days, this means that a total of 66,890 will be divided over the liquidity providers, the amount you get depends on your share in the pool. After 15 days the rewards will be reduced to 1X for again 15 days.

Is there a lockup period for withdrawing liquidity?

There are no lockups on WanSwap, all assets can be withdrawn whenever you like.

Are there risks for providing liquidity?

Liquidity providers can be exposed to impermanent loss, although we prefer to call it opportunity cost since that is a better word for it. For more information on this please check this article or this video. The article uses UniSwap as an example but it’s similar on WanSwap, on WanSwap you need to add your earned WASP to the equation too.

A new top 100 ERC20 token each week with farming rewards

Each new token introduction will pass through 3 phases before ending in a default state.

1. Start: Promotional Phase (1 week)
2. The token is listed with x5 rewards (1 week)
3. The token reward is reduced to x1 (1 week)
4. End: Liquidity providers will earn their share of the 0.25% fees on transactions(default state)

The idea is that there will always be a token in each of the first three phases (a rolling week process). The visual below shows an example of two tokens going through the cycle (You’ll need to imagine the third, fourth, fifth token…). So when the first week (promo phase) ends for token one, that’s when we start the promo phase for token two.

Specifics

• Tokens have to be in the top 100 tokens on Uniswap, this is a mandatory requirement to participate in the poll
• Tokens will be chosen by Twitter poll, follow us to keep being up to date
• After the end of this period, tokens can be voted in for a more permanent allocation

Springtime, a competition between tokens

Next to the top 100 listings, there will be an initiative where two Wanchain compatible tokens (this includes all ERC20 tokens, EOS tokens, and soon also Polkadot tokens) will be listed with x1 rewards for WASP. The tokens will get these rewards for two weeks. After this ends, the token with the most liquidity will stay in for another two weeks, and they will compete with a new token. The token that loses will still be tradable, and liquidity providers will still receive their share of the 0.25% fee collected for transactions. If a token wins three consecutive times a voting proposal will be made by the team, by winning the vote the project can get an allocation for a longer period.

How to apply?
