In the weekends when I wake up I slip into my newest luxury gown and saunter off to work at Mohna Lisa Couture – sipping coffee and rubbing sleep from my eyes.

When I’m at work I get to chat to the folk who come in – treasure hunters looking for the hidden objects , bridal parties seeking the perfect gowns and tuxedos to make their weddings magical, regulars who come to see what’s new and gorgeous, new residents looking for bargains, couples looking for the romantic garments of dreams.

I get to be the glittering princess of dreams like in the song by Pete Starsted for 4 hours a week….

#14 Our castle in the air

These huge rocks are only 1 prim each, and they can be stretched and squished so they never need to look the same – so watch this space … they may breed

Our castle has grown over 5 years from parts of R.H.Engel’s build with various modifications – decks, towers, windows in/windows out and variations of brick, wood and metal. We have changed how we use it too- from being our whole home and entertainment area with my photo studio to being our ‘private’ rooms. Currently it is pretty much empty – just the photos are up and the cats are loving the space (once I set the range so they stopped falling through space and washing up on the sea floor!)

Basil, Lavender, Puss and Boots – enjoying the art of the ‘afternoon nap’. Puss and Boots were my original pair, and Basil & Lavender are rescue cats. One of the upgrades since they came to live with me is the option to change them from breeding pairs to perma-pets. I love this option and gradually they will all be perma-pets as the $L allow. The operation is not cheap. Another recent upgrade is the ‘walk’ – so now as well as carrying your KittyKat you can have them follow along behind. Keeping pets in SL is a great option either for people like me who always have RL pets, or for people who can not have pets in RL.

Kohn has a shark, dolphins, seagulls and a crocodile!

Princess is a teacup perma-pet, and she joined the others quite by accident – but now there are enough!

#13 shadows

One of the things I have been looking forward to using is SHADOWS – long thin trailing ones, deep dark sulky ones….

…spider leg shadows! hurray!

My cute outfit that particularly shows off my spider legs is a mesh jumpsuit from Ricielli – and out of the many color options I chose the umber because I really wanted to team it with my Hucci leopard heels to dance up a storm at the beach club – and I did. I finished the outfit with RKitty’s Lily set in gold and this messy updo from MINA for a smart casual party look.

#12 Oceans of Love

I LOVE my new graphics card. I can see again!

The island is the same, but the land has changed to incorporate a sand hill and some ponds. We are using the same beach house with new decks and planning to knock out some walls to add windows – all the better to see the lovely views. Before modifications the house was from Bahia Tiki – they have a fantastic range of Pacific and Asian inspired houses – from spa sheds to palaces, as well as furniture.

Now to add in the extras…

The rock walls and waterfalls are from InVerse Landscaping by Novocaine Islay and Kohn has bunched them up together and taken off some bits…

#11 Early days

In Second Life creating a place to live with each other and with our friends starts from a flat square portion of a sim ….

Then there are the dreams and the dreamers ….

My partner Kohn loves to terraform – making areas of land and water for us to pile and festoon with treasures from our inventories – or new things we go and hunt for.

I like to find a bit of ‘still’ ground while he does the terraforming – because it makes me seasick (which is odd because being on the sea has never ever made me sick). My sleeping companion is my adorable wee Yorkshire terrier- Toasty – who is cunningly scripted to do many doglike things. When set free he races about – usually keeping me in sight – and then randomly flops down on his back or side and snores heartily for several minutes.

I just happen to be wearing a comfortable and casual outfit – and thank heavens heels don’t sink in SL sand – a soft jumper top from Cold Logic, comfy capris from Zaara and boots from Maitreya.

Kohn has collected off sim islands, rocks and even an erupting volcano to extend the borders of our square….

#10 FashionArt – a dream

When people plan events in Second Life it helps to have a dream – and when I wandered about the shops, reading the quotes on the walls and considering the ‘exclusive’ items that our amazing creators made for the event, I could see that creative dreaming is thriving!

I fell in love with this ‘dress’ (sYs) MURAGAMI dress – Kawaii Yellow – by Syane Ciss – it reminds me of the work of Erte – shape, textures, engineering, glamour! The dress comes with an underlayer of net and a necktie matching the centre panel of the dress – but I have teamed it instead with treasures from my inventory – a shirt layer from LBD – by LeeZu Baxter; hair by Tabata Jewell; headwear by Chirzaka Vlodovic of LODE and more. A couple of new finds are the amazing nails for Slink hands from -(ZOZ)- and the 22769 necklace from L’accessoires.
