Every so often I look around my small gallery and wonder – why?

Why do I have a gallery? Why do my friends like me to have a gallery? Why have I chosen these, of all my photographs, to display? Are these still part of my 10,000? Why have I displayed them like this?

Currently Mem’s Gallery is housed in a cute little cottage at the top of a hill, surrounded by flowers and trees; part of our New Zealand themed sim.

New appliers for treasured gowns worn under stage lighting to meet a photography challenge!

I was inspired by finding that pixivor Allen – of ALaFolie has released MESH body appliers for some of her most fantastic creations. I have a special place in my heart for this version of the gown she created for Miss Philippines (back in…. 2009?) and several other treasured dresses. THANK YOU Pixi!

#58 I’m a little bit country

The theme of the current round of My Attic @ The Deck is Town & Country – and runs from 21st to the 26th of September so RUN – don’t walk over to get your treasure at super low prices.

I grew up on a farm so traces of that life are deep inside me; but when I go into the country now it is as a visitor – likely with some city girl stupidity- like turning up in these super cute heels from Bushu and trying to walk along the fence! I used the Repose Country Fence prop and set up the photo on the Image Essentials sim – where you can rezz props if you are a group member. Check out this great hair from EMOtions – which manages to look sweet and a bit feisty at the same time. Kaithleens’ checked cotton dress has just the right look for a picnic at the farm.

# 55 Precious

Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?

In Second Life many people choose to become parents. Parenthood is tricky – in any life, and the support of friends and family helps. My friend Jax has created a beautiful place for families to socialize together.

Precious Families Island….

Families in SL aren’t so different to families in RL. Two people fall in love, and one day their love is expressed by the creation of a child.

That child becomes their whole focus… They love each other still, but now they have this beautiful extension of their love that ‘needs’ them to care for it, love it, pay it attention.

Children teach us about selflessness, as we take on our role of Parenthood.

I created a place in SL called “Precious Families Island” as a celebration of the love couples share here in SL, and the families they create. It is a public place for them to visit, with their children, and spend quality time together.

The island has romantic nooks to explore, beaches to relax on, an area that a group of friends can sit around on pillows and chat, as well as a dance floor which we use to celebrate our Families every week with a weekly party.

I think Precious may be the only place in SL where families come to dance while their babies and children toddle around the dance floor, playing and interacting, among the grown-up’s legs.

A magical place, created to celebrate the dedication of SL parents to their children, to celebrate the love that grows as a family grows, to bring parents together with other parents within SL, and allow them to share their experiences, their knowledge and their stories.

A funny thing is that just like people everywhere – friends who have children make frequent hints and suggestions that Kohn and I should join in the joy and have our own child. It makes me smile and shake my head.

What a treat! – to find fairies have set up a mysterious and beautiful breakfast is my idea of a great morning. With a little bit of peering under cups and chairs – and yes – inside the flower vase – I discovered that the whole lot come from by Apple Fall BUT – they are all in a GACHA. I am not fond of gatchas – because I hate ending up with 7 chairs and no croissant. Blessings on whomsoever took the time and effort to collect this lot so that I can enjoy ‘breakfast at Tiffany’s’ in such style.
