Lake Time
One of my favorite memories as a little girl was spending time on the Lake as a family. Last Friday night we went to the lake with my parents and had a blast. We ate dinner on the boat and the boys got to go tubing before the sun went down. Rex was a little worried that everyone would laugh at him in his pink barbie life jacket but soon forgot about it and just had fun. On the way home Tate told me it was the funnest night ever! I love making memories with my boys.
Preschool
Rex was so excited about his first day of preschool! After seeing his brothers leave every morning for a month he was ready for it to be his turn!
Flag Football
Taters started flag football a couple weeks ago. He loves it. During his first game he pulled several flags and ran for an extra point. He thought he was pretty special that day.
10 Years
Michael and I have been married for 10 years! I couldn't be happier or more in love! We really wanted to go and do something amazing to celebrate but, kids schedules didn't make it possible so we settled for dinner and movie!
Baptism Day
August 11 was an amazing day, Brody chose to be baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. This year our main focus during FHE was baptism. I really wanted Brody to understand what it means to be a member of this church. I wanted this to be his decision, not mine. Boy was I excited to see Brody dressed in white with his dad in the font. It is an amazing experience to get watch my children grow and have these moments.
Great to be 8
In August Brody turned 8yrs old. I still can't believe that I have been a mom for eight years. All he wanted for his birthday was legos. So that is what he got. I think he will be building these sets until Christmas. Brody is such a good kid, I can think of a million things that make me love him but since he is eight, I will stick to that.
1. driven. When he has a goal to accomplish nothing gets in the way of that goal.
2. smart. He loves school and learning comes easy.
3. obedient. He tries hard to to make good choices.
4. funny. He has a funny side to him that most people don't see but when it comes out it is great!
5. protector. Nobody messes with Brody's brothers. I love it!
6. bookworm. He loves the magic tree house series and will read for hours.
7. athletic. Brody loves to play sports and is bummed when a season is over.
8. snuggler. Brody loves to snuggle by me on the coach at night and he still gives me a kiss good night every night!
First Day of School
It was July 25 and still 110 degrees outside but that doesn't stop us from heading back to school. I was not ready for school to start. A new charter school was built just down the street and I was having a really hard time deciding where my children should go. I love our neighborhood public school I feel that my boys have had amazing teachers and learned so much but, most of the boys from our ward were now going to the charter school and I was worried that Tate would have a hard time finding new friends. I really had to trust my faith and decided that for now the public school was where my kids should be. So far so good. Tate loves leaving with Brody in the morning and having lunch at school. Our old Stake Primary President is his substitute teacher for the first 9 weeks and I love her. Brody still loves everything about school. Just yesterday I got this email from Brody's teacher, "Hi! I just wanted to let you know that Brody is such a sweet boy and very bright! I am really happy he is in my class this year! He is doing great in second grade! Have a great week!" I try to teach my kids to be respectful and well behaved in class and it really does make me feel good when a teacher lets me know that they really are listening.
We were a little late getting out the door and Brody did not want to wait to take a picture.
After school, I love how Brody just tells me everything is great everyday whereas Tate will give me more of the play by play.
