Fakebook.

This is coolbert:

"All war is based on deception"

Fakebook and not Facebook! U.S. Army deception and intrigue!

"An unusual twist during US Army training had noncombatants posting photos and videos to Fakebook [sic] for the enemy to see: report"

From https://www.msn.com | Story by jepstein@businessinsider.com (Jake Epstein) •

* "Western militaries are studying and learning a lot from watching the war in Ukraine."

* "One area of interest is the way that cellphones play a role on the battlefield."

* "Recent training included an usual drill where civilians posted photos to fake social media for the 'enemy' to see, according to a new report."

BOGUS images of American troops in the field posted to FAKE social media accounts.

Practitioners of Open-Source-Intelligence [OSINT] and geo-positioning/geo-location from Internet images beware?

It is not so much you are looking at the adversary but that the adversary is looking at you using some sort of cyber/malware techniques or methods?

"Game"

This is coolbert:

Once more the smart phone with surreptitiously embedded malware used to spy.

An article from May of this year but still germane.

From thedebrief.org the article by TIM MCMILLAN·BREAKING NEWSDEFENSE·MAY 25, 2022.

"RUSSIA USING SMARTPHONE “GAME” TO RECRUIT UKRAINIAN CHILDREN AS UNWITTING SPIES"

Ukrainian children playing a "game" all the while unwittingly passing on valuable intelligence to Russian secret services.

"According to Ukrainian intelligence officials, the Russian military is using smartphone games geared toward children to help locate Ukrainian military and strategic installations."

"Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) revealed that Russia’s intelligence service had developed a smartphone application using popular gaming software to recruit Ukrainian children as unwitting spies. Participants search for 'boxes' containing virtual prizes in the mobile game, which can later be exchanged for electronic money."

"To find virtual boxes, players are asked to follow routes through various towns and villages and take photos of the area, including military and critical infrastructure. The images, including geolocation data, are uploaded into the app’s database."

Saucy.

This is coolbert:

WARNING: If you are easily offended by material of a frank, adult, brazen and bold nature, hit ESCAPE now!

The tip from "Blazing Cat Fur" that original story by

"Love and war: Ukrainian women inspire troops with saucy pictures

Antonia Cundy, Kyiv | August 07 2022 The Sunday Times.

"A woman walks towards the camera, her hips sashaying as she sweeps her hands up from her waist and over her breasts, bending low in front of the lens to fill its view with her cleavage."

"In another video, the camera gazes down a man’s bare chest, warm candlelight exaggerating the grooves of his abdominal muscles and a bulge in his trousers."

"Such images are uploaded every day to a unique Ukrainian Telegram channel doing its bit for the war effort: while many civilians use Telegram to snitch on Russian troops or raise money for weapons, members of this channel post pictures of themselves for the pleasure of soldiers risking their lives on the front line."

WARNING: Ukrainian soldier and Russian soldier too if you view the Telegram dedicated [?] channel. Oksana, Svetlana and Kateryna may not be your friend. Risque' and suggestive images used to entice may also contain some sort of malware that when inadvertently loaded onto your smart phone becomes a tool that hostile intelligence services can use to spy on you.

Alexander.

This is coolbert:

Ukrainian girls BEWARE the Alexander!

Spyware and malware!

From the U.S. edition of "The Sun" and thanks to same.

"RUDE ARMY Randy Russian soldiers bombard Ukrainian girls with flirty Tinder requests"

Article by Nick Parker.

16:59 ET, Feb 23 2022Updated: 17:54 ET, Feb 23 2022.

"randy: adjective - - Desirous of sexual activity. Sexually aroused. Ill-mannered."

"RUSSIAN soldiers began bombarding Ukraine yesterday — with Tinder messages looking for love."

"Ukrainian women in second city Kharkiv — just 20 miles from tyrannical Vladimir Putin’s vast invasion force — have been stunned by a salvo of admirers in uniform."

Undoubtedly those images contain some sort of spyware or malware that will infect your smart phone or other device. Can be used to spy on you without your knowledge. Even a machine when you think turned off can be hazardous.

This has been demonstrated to be a common practice on a world-wide basis of many intelligence agencies. Including undoubtedly Russian espionage and intelligence gathering organizations.

Again, Ukrainian girls beware the Alexander. And for that matter Alexei, Ivan, Mikhail, Oleg, Fyodor as well. THEY ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS. Do I EVEN NEED to tell you this?

Wiper.

This is coolbert:

Malware Ukraine. Grey-zone warfare? Cyber-attack. This is Wiper.

From just today and only a short time ago:

Thanks to the lead from Steve Lookner and the Wall Street Journal the article by Dustin Volz.

"Malware Detected in Ukraine as Invasion Threat Looms"

"Wiper malware has been detected targeting Ukraine computer systems for the second time in as many months."

"A new form of destructive malware that can delete or corrupt data on a targeted computer or network has been seen spreading in Ukraine, according to multiple cybersecurity firms."

"Researchers from the cybersecurity firms of ESET and Broadcom Software's Symantec said Wednesday that so-called data wiper malware had been detected, a discovery that came as U.S. officials said Russia's plans to invade its neighbor were imminent. It is the second time in as many months wiper malware has been detected targeting Ukraine computer systems."

Cyber-warfare can have the same results as a KINETIC weapon of great destructiveness. A power plant even if operating is taken off-line from the transmission network, then power plant for all practical purposes as if hit by a bomb!! No electricty to consumers. Across the board with all utilities and I am talking only utilities.

AGA.

This is coolbert:

From Rolling Stone webzine this topic quite often subject of discussion.

Come hither boys, but beware AGA. Alpha Gun Angels.

"Why Are Israeli Defense Forces Soldiers [Females] Posting Thirst Traps on TikTok?"

"Thirst Trap: A sexy photograph or flirty message posted on social media for the intent of causing others to publicly profess their attraction."

"Israeli soldiers — and the military itself — are trying to influence the Middle East narrative with sexy social media posts"

"With her long, lush blond hair, almond-shaped blue eyes, and expertly manicured brows, influencer Natalia Fadeev bears a striking resemblance to model Gigi Hadid. On TikTok, where she’s racked up nearly a million followers, she’s mastered the art of the coquettish facial expression, balancing it with angles that show off her rear end. She’s cultivated a brand as an Airsoft shooting game enthusiast, maintaining a separate Instagram account under the handle @gunwaifu sponsored by a tactical gear store, and she regularly posts catgirl videos and kawaii (a Japanese-inspired cutesy aesthetic) cosplay on her TikTok page."

"coquette :noun 1: a woman who endeavors without sincere affection to gain the attention and admiration of men"

"In addition to being well-versed in the art of monetizing her personal brand, Fadeev is a reservist in the Israel Defense Forces, and much of her page is devoted to pro-Israeli military content"

BOYS, BEWARE THE NATALIA. DOWNLOAD HER IMAGES TO YOUR SMART PHONE AND YOU ARE LIABLE TO ALSO RECEIVE SURREPTITIOUS MALWARE THAT WILL ALLOW REMOTE PARTIES TO SPY ON YOU.

Apps.

This is coolbert:

Yet more spyware for your smart phone. You might be watched and not even know it.

A topic of which has been a popular topic for many blog entries. Malware surreptitiously installed on your smart phone allowing enemy intelligence agencies to spy on opponents.

1. "How the U.S. Military Buys Location Data from Ordinary Apps"

"A Muslim prayer app with over 98 million downloads is one of the apps connected to a wide-ranging supply chain that sends ordinary people's personal data to brokers, contractors, and the military."

"The U.S. military is buying the granular movement data of people around the world, harvested from innocuous-seeming apps . . . The most popular app . . . is a Muslim prayer and Quran app that has more than 98 million downloads worldwide."

2. "Military And Intelligence Personnel Can Be Tracked With The Untappd Beer App"

"Surprise! The beer-rating app Untappd can be used to track the location history of military personnel. The social network has over eight million mostly European and North American users, and its features allow researchers to uncover sensitive information about said users at military and intelligence locations around the world."

Intelligence agencies their target enemy military personnel prefer the app offering images of scantily clad young women. See a number of previous blog entries within context:

Download these images or become of "follower" and you run the risk of downloading malware to your smart phone? You can become an unknowing target and asset of a foreign intelligence agency [or perhaps even the asset of a friendly intelligence agency] in the process! Even as an old man however I have to admit not-too-bad.

Honey.

This is coolbert:

Jawan beware! Aisha, Fareeda, Laila and Yasmin are not your friend.

From the Internet web site Strategy Page an full article [first paragraph copied here in entirety] as devoted to how Indian soldiers entrapped for espionage purposes by social media, smart phones, malware. I recommend the article highly without qualification or reservation.

"Winning: Honey Trap Wars"

"June 8, 2019: Once more the Indian Army found one of its personnel recruited as a spy by Pakistani agents pretending to be an Indian woman who entraps the soldier as a regular supplied of information. The latest case was unusual in that the female Pakistani agent calling an army staff officer serving in the headquarters of a unit stationed in northeast India. The Pakistan spy said she was from the Army Wives Welfare Association but that officer was away from the office and the call was transferred to a 25 year old corporal. The Pakistani agent found the corporal suitable for entrapment and during their brief phone call persuaded him to contact her via her Internet accounts on WhatsApp and Instagram to continue their conversation. That was how the Pakistani agent 'developed' the corporal as a provider of information on Indian army troop movements."

The single best way to get a man to talk of secrets he knows is the femme fatale. Men have a tremendous desire to impress women they ARE somebody. What better way to impress than reveal secrets "in confidence" of course. And once that first indiscretion made, believe me, ain't no going back.

Jawan.

This is coolbert:

Smart phones. Applications. Social media. Malware. Military intelligence.

How many times now have I had blog entries concerning this topic? Social media as it is referred to in this instance as the "honey pot". Entice and trap the unwary soldier via a Smart Phone.

Even in India this occurs!!

"Indian soldier [jawan]  leaked sensitive info to Pakistani ‘honey pot’ on Facebook"

"honey pot - - something or some location that is attractive or rewarding and that entices a specific group of people"

Thanks to the Russian Internet web site Russian Times [RT].

"An Indian Army clerk [jawan] has been arrested for passing information on troop movements and military exercises to a Pakistani spy on Facebook and WhatsApp and may have been paid for his betrayal"

"The Indian Army announced a nationwide crackdown on social media “honey-traps” in January, and military intelligence has been conducting spot-checks of soldiers’ phones and laptops ever since, warning them not to post any photos or share any material containing sensitive military information . . . In this particular model of honey-trap, attractive young women 'like' and comment on soldiers’ social media photos and gradually ply them for more information under the guise of flirtation and developing a 'relationship.' As the dialogue moves into private messages, 'intimate' videos and photos are exchanged, and the women – who invariably turn out to be ISI operatives – can then blackmail soldiers into telling everything they know."

Boys, be aware and beware!! Heather, Holly, Amber, Mallory probably really isn't Heather, Holly, Amber, Mallory! Expect fully well Heather, Holly, Amber, Mallory not even to be a she!

You have been warned!!

Telefon.

This is coolbert:

Smart phone malware, Russian style.

Thanks to the Internet web site English/Russian.

"WHAT RUSSIAN ARMY DOES WITH SOLDIERS MOBILE PHONES [PHOTOS]"

"In the Russian army soldiers are not allowed to carry mobile phones or smart phones. They can only use them during their free time, because they are considered to be working with secrets. However not every soldier hands in his phone to the commanders, and this is what happens with such phones if they are found."

Russians always noted for their draconian measures with regard to security. These smart phones confiscated from soldiers while on duty and spiked. Displayed as a warning to other military personnel. Do not carry such a smart phone while on duty!! You have been warned. Click on image to see an enlarged view.

Boys beware!

Electronic-counter measures NATO! Directed against NATO by NATO!

Consider this blog entry to be so apropos within context of a most recent blog entry:

"NATO Tricks Own Troops Into Spilling Sensitive Data Using Facebook, Instagram"

"The alliance decided to test how well prepared its soldiers are for the evolving methods of espionage in the world of modern technology and social media by using fake accounts and social engineering."

THIS HAS BEEN A POPULAR TOPIC FOR BLOG ENTRIES. MALWARE AS DOWNLOADED ONTO SMART PHONES AND OTHER INTERNET CONNECTED DEVICES ALLOW A HOSTILE FOREIGN INTELLIGENCE ENTITY TO SPY ON THE INDIVIDUAL TROOP EFFECTIVELY AND SURREPTITIOUSLY. YOUR SMART PHONE HIJACKED AND BEING USED AGAINST YOU!

NATO personnel presumably having been forewarned the object of this exercise [electronic-counter measures] to test the real-world adherence to the security rules as stated by higher command.

AND HOW WELL IS NATO DOING? WE SHALL HARDLY EVER KNOW I THINK.

Kelly.

This is coolbert:

Beware Caesar the Ides! Beware boys the malware!

"This Knockout Instagram Girl May Be the USAF’s Most Cost-Effective Recruiting Asset."

"Airman Kelly Davis' depictions of life outside Air Force duty hours portray an adventurous, aspirational lifestyle that could help influence other young people to pursue an Air Force career."

"She has more Instagram followers than the Air Force’s new F-35 Demo Team. Her Instagram is followed by nearly as many people as the well-established Air Force Heritage Flight Instagram page. She has three times as many followers as the official USAF ROTC Instagram page. With 12,200+ followers on Instagram compared to 10,300 for the new, official U.S. Air Force F-35 Demo Team [and] there are more eyes are on her page than the Air Force’s most expensive demo aircraft."

Kelly Davis. Described as an airman!

And boys as I have said beware the Kelly. Not Kelly personally but images as might be found on Instagram and downloaded to your PC or smart phone. Entities, possibly foreign intelligence services hostile to the United States might have secretly embedded malware in those images, risque, enticing and alluring as they are. Malware that allows the unknown and hostile entities to take control of your PC or smart phone without your knowledge and use YOUR OWN device against you in some manner.

This is coolbert:

Who knows? The Russian knows! I'm watching you!

Still more from the Russian media outlet Russian Times [RT] and thanks to same.

"Russian military servicemen banned from sharing any info on Internet in government bill"

"The Russian government has drafted a new bill which, if passed by parliament, would ban military servicemen from disclosing on the web any information about themselves, their units and other military staff."

"The bill specifies that members of the military of any rank should not post information on the Internet about themselves or other servicemen, including pictures and videos, as well as geolocation data. The rule applies equally to foreign citizens who serve in the Russian forces. Retired servicemen, however, are exempt from all restrictions imposed by the motion."

THAT ENEMY SMART PHONES AND SOCIAL MEDIA. MALWARE AS INADVERTENTLY DOWNLOADED CAN PROVIDE A HOSTILE POWER WITH A MEANS OF MONITORING A RUSSIAN SERVICE MEMBER SURREPTITIOUSLY.

"State-Sponsored Hackers Took Over Israeli Soldiers’ Android Phones"

THE CULPRIT HERE BEING A MALWARE OF AMAZING SOPHISTICATION!

A state actor at work here and not the smurfs?

"New research has revealed that state-sponsored hackers have been using malware to spy on soldiers in the Israeli Defense Force through their smart phones."

"Reports indicate that more than 100 Israeli servicemen were first affected by this attack this in July 2016, and that the most recent reported attacks happened just this month. The malware, called "ViperRAT," was specifically designed to target Android devices, with hackers gaining access to the phone’s location, video, audio and SMS functions."

"YeeCall Pro and SR Chat are legitimate programs, but were weaponized for the cyber attack. The virus spread through “Droppers” hiding in other apps common in Israel and available through the Google App Store, like Move To iOS and an Israeli love-song player"

"The depth of social engineering that went into the hack led Kaspersky to posit that Hamas was responsible, but Lookout has claimed that the group does not possess the sophisticated mobile capabilities to develop a program like ViperRat."
