Changes and Choices

I was watching Asian Food Channel just an hour ago, one of my favorite show in here is “The Restaurant Makeover, it’s all about  restaurant renovations , the episode this morning  made me think of something, the owner was questioning how could changes be made out of his budget he agreed, new furnitures, cooking machines, he got quite frustrated when he saw, they were breaking everything. Changes is a scary thing, but if we’ll make the right choice, and trust ….. 🙂

Life is full of changes and choices, I guess that can be said of all of our lives. Would it not be good if we could choose a period of our lives that was enjoyable and let time stand still. Changes and choices goes hand in hand, we can never predict things to happen, sometimes a certain circumstance that requires to choose an options, could be an alternative just to come up with a decision due to some unexpected changes.

Battle ahead

clouds

Raging huge fire awaits,
for this soul to face.
Succumbing to fear,
a battle I must take.
A ray of the sun just out
between banks of clouds.
Few sprinkles of rain
as heart screams aloud.
God above is a shield,
Nothing to be scared
In whom mercy is endless,
it cannot be compared.
I must keep moving,
a strength I am praying.

Somewhere, miles away, crops push their way toward harvest and waves roar and tumble onto the shore. Windswept forest sing their timeless songs,  and desert animals scurry in the shadows of cactus and rock.  Within a matter of hours night will fall, the dark sky will glitter with moon and stars and sleep will force itself upon us. Life will continue on uninterrupted. Appreciated or not, the canvas of nature will go on being painted by the fingers of God.  In the midst of the offensive noise of our modern world-the people, the cars, the sounds, the smog, the heat, the pressures-there stand those reminders  of His deep peace.

One Fine Day

Taking a break, one fine sunny day,
on the soft white sand peacefully I lay.
A gray shadow, suddenly fell across,
the wide ocean started to lose its gloss.
Before had been,bright mirror that bind,
over that  blue sky reflecting behind.
Now, angry waves pounded the shore,
As the heavens opened, the rain poured.

Friday once again! just some thoughts to ponder 🙂

Is a book better if you speed read it, or if you take your time and get lost in it ? Is a song better if you skim through it, or if you take the time to really listen? Is food better if you cram it down your throat, or if you savor every bite and really appreciate the flavor? Is your time spent with a friend or loved one better if you have a rushed meeting interrupted by your emails and text messages, or if you can relax and really focus on the person? Life as a whole is better if you go slowly, Take the time to savor it,  appreciate every moment. That’s the simplest reason to slow down.

Inside Your Shell

You had that dreary day,
no one ever knows.
Your soul has been ripped ,
spirit was crushed.
Hiding inside your shell,
an immersed pain continue to rush.
In your season of misery,
you just don’t look that  weary
Encircled by a crowd,
inside, totally  feel like sinking.
Wrap up inside,
emotions completely breaking
A grieving heart,
sort of pain you can’t explain.
But  heart remains tough ,
no words, you just don’t complain.

Craving for a cake,

it’s God whispering.

A broken small thin glass ,
if I can fix the crack.
Things had been torned
if can be restored.
Time passes as it changed,
two close become estranged.

Things I never learned,
now I’m trying to discern.

An old  fashioned love notes,
if I can play it again.
An old rhyme phrase,
if I can still write same phase.
Season expected to shift,
as life dragged us down so swift.
A change of one’s  heart,
a falling slope in mind’s chart.

Alone in the dark, I see my stories
In silence, I embrace the sadness
But when I look above, I feel some kind of peace
My hiding place , beneath the stars where I used to wish

Out there in the middle, drench in water
I can shout and scream, no one can hear
I can hide tears and forget all hidden fears
My hiding place, out in the pouring rain, it makes everything clear

Sitting in silence, telling Him all my doubts
I can hear choir singing, it soothes all the hurting
He lightens the burden, relieves the pain
My hiding place, inside my Savior’s arm, in Him I claim.

Peeking at the stars ,
a favorite thing.
It paint my thoughts,
with splash of dreams.
A place I can write,
all secret wish.
Discerning,
the mystery it brings.

Watching a sunrise,
with a mug in  hand.
With this chaos mind,
I can think thoroughly.
Simply be drifted,
to  remind me.
God had showered,
A  hope to see.

A crashing waves,
hitting the seashore.
It pacify this mind,
from loud noise of the world.
The  gentle wind,
that tells me a thing.
Be still, take it slow,
Keep going , let go.

My Reflection

We’re  home now from hospital stay and I thank God above…

Undimmed a reflection I see,
in smile, in deep seated eyes,
somewhat your thin disguise.

With your two broken wings,
unable to lift off and fly high,
yet eyes still fixed on the sky.

With a tremendous courage,
A brave heart filled with hope,
faith, holding on same rope.

A blessed kind, my little one,
both of us….never retreated,
..thus, you’re never defeated.

Glancing at the glaring golden light
In room I wasn’t fascinated by this sight
A blaze reflecting behind the window curtain
Feeling weary, consumed, and uncertain.
Thinking of an ocean, the splashing wave
There, in the distance, a spotted eagle ray.
Screaming seagulls, comforting wind sound
A flute player sitting near the ground.

Oh imagination, my imagination
Messing with this head again with your illusion.

A glimpse

Walking down, a tear shed,
drifted across the crowd
she gazed blankly ahead.
An image, a glimpse of that face
from a memory that burns,
with her heart that beat the same.
An endless cord
tightly knitted to her soul
as chain toughly locked,
she could hardly let go.
Even strong words was given,
and its vivid and clear
the hardest battle fought,
it was unquestionable real.
Kept it inside, shut it off,
she knew she’ll get by

Chalk of life

Got inspired by this American animated television series ChalkZone , the series follows Rudy Tabootie, an elementary school student whose magic chalk allows him into the ChalkZone, an alternate dimension where everything drawn on a blackboard and erased becomes real.  I  was watching last night and something popped into my head…

magic chalks
to draw a thing,
write anything.
First will be a pair
of wings flapping,
to fly, soar high
so as to give this
little fantasy a try.
It’s like reaching
a wishful dream,
only waiting for
a light to gleam.
Second is a word
PEACE to touch
a troubled heart,
yearns for love,
hurting  much.
Imagine a world,
without  fears
It’s a beautiful place
to stay and settle in.

God’s gift : Understanding

There’s nothing better than seeing your love ones  still fast asleep. We all had a good night, thank God, no night ouchies!  Our little one  joined us over dinner last night and  finally smiling now. I can say our little soldier is finally  back but  I know how it feels everytime there’s  a burning  pain somewhere. Still,  he is recuperating from 3 weeks hospital stay , 3 more weeks, I guess, then hoping. Early this morning,  I was clearing some clutters in the room, saw this mickey mouse alphabet coloring book and  a box of large crayons. I suddenly remembered it was him who chose this stuff, while we were in a mall bookstore. It seems like ages now since we had this little shopping alone, no  series of surgeries had done yet, he can still run and walk  freely without something that would bother him. On the other side of the room, there’s this two little bikes kept (when was the last time he rode this bikes) His childhood  was  stolen from him, in and out of the hospital for 4 years, prefers to lie down most of the time. One of my  sentiments – how can he still manage to smile and be contented, yet he knows  he’s carrying something  that would stay there for a lifetime. I know kids are resilient by  nature than we are –– taken  from my personal journal 

Sometimes , when we love someone , we feel we just can’t give them enough. I think most parents feel this way about their children. Love make us generous. But generosity is more than giving. If anyone could have showered gifts on those he loved, it was God, but He didn’t. Instead He provided  for their basic needs;  he saw to it  that they had sheltered and enough to eat . He watched them counting coins when he could have filled  their laps with riches. God gave something more precious and more lasting  than gifts.  He gave us the gift of understanding. He knew how hard it is to live  in this world. He felt what others felt and couldn’t put into words. In our little boy’s case, if not with  that gift of  understanding towards his real health condition, probably  he won’t be smiling and fighting. Just a share 🙂 Short  poem for today-

Out of the depths,

My  utter despair

Out of my blahs

I cried  to you

the  wisdom

 you gave

I was saved

Silence

Silence may mean
we’re breaking down
or  just only need
some time alone.

Silence may mean
we’re happy and fine
or no words to describe
the feeling at all.

My silence speaks,

my silence talks louder
