Scenic shot from River Orne, in Argentan, Normandie, France. I liked the contrast between the dark shadow of the trees over the water to the buildings and sky beyond.

Homeless man in Rue Hamon, Caen, France.
Most of the homeless in France I have observed seem to be older people, unlike here in the United Kingdom where it’s most homeless people are of younger generation.
Seeing the reflection in the shop window, and catching the passerby oblivious to the man sitting on the pavement, made for great street photography picture.

Honfleur, France. It had just rained when I noticed this powered bike leaning against this sign post and liking the reflection across the paving stones I took the picture. The clippings in the granite stones gives the reflection it’s distinctive look.

Honfleur, France. Outside under some trees behind the L’absinthe Restaurant where these tables and chairs not in use. I was taken with the pattern of the seats, they way three tables were aligned, plus the curvature of the stone paving. The composition was just right for me, so I felt it was worth a few frames.

I took this picture while we waited for our lunch, from under the front canopy of the restaurant along ‘Quai Sainte-Catherine’ at Honfleur, France. I liked the view of this shot panned out from the table to the other patrons and finally the boats in the harbour. I had to bracket the shot with five exposures being a little uncertain of the reading with my Weston Euro meter. Between the dark shadows under the canopies and getting a happy medium with the bright sunlight in the harbour and without silhouetting the people opposite. I’m very please with this image how it came out in the end.

While on holiday with my wife in Saint Germain de Montgommery near Vimoutiers in Normandy, France, I had seen this farm just down the road where we were staying and had not taken much more notice of the group of buildings.
A few days later walking past the farm with my dog, a cottage caught my eye in front of the farm. I’d not seen this building before now set back from the road and hidden by the trees. In the late morning sunlight there was a clear reflection in the pond of this beautiful old building, a perfect shot.

Still my Holidays at the moment so I’m uploading an older image for today.
Taken at Bredgar & Wormshill Light Railway, England. The engine name is ‘Armistice’ Circa 1919. Two things I like about this picture, the first is the sunlight coming though the trees behind. Second, is light is shining along the rails, making them look like white lines. I think it’s amazing that the Nikon FE forty year old meter coped well with this shot and needed very little dodge and burn in final picture.
