Broken reflection

Minster on Sea, England. 2026

I took this shot mainly because I was taken how the reflection was braking with the movement of the water.

Don’t think I’ve ever used my Jupiter -8 50mm lens on the Leica before. I still think despite the Lomography Jupiter 3+ 50mm f/1.5 being faster, personally I feel the Jupiter -8 is a better all rounder. If you ever use one of these lenses, I’ve found for landscape photography they are best shot at f/11 using hyperfocal distance. Apertures f/16 to f/22 for landscape and you will find the detail in the images will look soft. Wide open, I can’t fault either of the Jupiter lenses.

Calm

Minster on Sea, England. January 2025

A bitterly cold, dull morning, with mist just lifting. The Nikkormat viewfinder kept steaming up everytime I raise it to my eye, so framing was a challenge. Wasn’t too sure I’d got the exposure quite right either and the negative does look around a half to a full stop out. Managed to correct it in post with Gimp and I’m pleased with the resulting image despite not quite nailing the exposure.

Random things

Barton’s Point Coastal Park, Minster on Sea, England. 2024

Walking along, out with the dog, in the Coastal park and your greeted with this scene …a builders wheel barrow. There’s no building work anywhere close by. All I can think, teenagers having fun the night before.

I shot this using my Zorki 4K with the Jupiter 3+ 50mm f/1.5 lens. My usual film of choice Foma 100 Classic taken at stock speed with a old Soviet KMZ 40.5mm yellow filter found on eBay.
