I took this image sometime last month but had not got around to using it. I had looked at this tree many times and thought there is a shot there but just couldn’t get the composition right until sun was at a low angle between the buildings opposite.

Leica M4-2, Summicron 50mm f/2 with a B&W yellow filter and taken on Kodak Tri-X film pushed on stop.
As many of you know my work, I very rarely shoot colour film. So when I said to my wife I’m going to shoot some autumn pictures last Sunday, a voice came from the other room ”you are going to use colour?” So frantically looking in my photography fridge upstairs, luckily for me there was one last roll of Agfa Vista 200 colour film left, dated October 2018… Phew.
This shot hasn’t really got much in the way of autumn colour but I liked the late afternoon light and shadows across the cemetery. Only in post processing on the computer did I notice the grave in the foreground, the foot stone is propped up with white bricks!

Deauville in France again. While my wife was having a conversation with this lady on the street corner, I was amused of how her two greyhounds where standing around their owners shadow on the pavement.

Vimoutiers, France. Classic cars from a rally meeting, parked in the main town car park. I used my B&W red filter to enhance the contrast of shadows from the street light behind the cars over the body work of this 1962 Renault Dauphine and for me I love the resulting image.

Leica M4-2, Summicron 50mm f/2 with a B&W red filter on Kodak Tri-X film shot ISO of 800 and developed in Ilford ID11 for 10 minutes at 19.5ºc.
While walking the dog early in the morning, the low sun give these wonderful long shadows across the pavement. Also quite like the sunbursts spots from the cars which thankfully didn’t burn out the image.

Shot at Sheerness Beach, England along the seawall. I was interested in the structure of the bench and it’s shadow in the morning sunlight but then also noticed the snail trails on the wall glistening in the light.
